Pokémon Center & Pokémon Mart

EDIT; 2016-06-26:
Fixed and uploaded High Quality versions of the Pokémon Center & Pokémon Mart. The last change included a lot of texture fixes such as adding more shadows and reflections than in the previous versions. Note that the same texture is shared among both buildings.
  • The package takes up 27 Kb in map space.
  • Both models and the texture are squished and optimized.
EDIT; 2016-06-27:
Removed the Low Quality versions of the buildings. Since the difference in file size between the two packages after texture changes were negligible, (2 Kb map space) I am sure no one will miss these.

is that yours or did you take it out of a pokemon game?
I will go ahead and consider that a compliment. For your information, I would never post anything that isn't made from scratch by myself. If you feel that it's necessary I'll happily send you copies of the project in earlier development, as a solid proof.
For further interest; I got inspired by the Gen 3 Pokémon Mart & Gen 4 Pokémon Center which you gladly can compare to at Bulbapedia.

In that case, something could be maybe done to make the texture not so pixelated-looking.. maybe using some ingame textures, if they have a texture that could match
In game textures are used to save space. Here I have a 64x64 sized texture recycled for two models. Considering this, space is obviously not an issue.
Regarding pixelated look (windows and posters), I hope you realize this is the sheer essence of many Pokémon games. As you probably know, this originates from previous Game BoysⓇ 10-20 years back whose storage could not handle greater textures.
Now I am guessing, but I sincerely hope you're not referring to the pixelated transitions between different UV-Wrap islands in the displayed texture in Blender. This is an intentional decision to reduce the color count in the .blp file and hence reduce the file size of the texture.
If you have any further ideas or I misunderstood your comment, do not hesitate to respond.

I'm gonna let others voice their own opinion too, but my thinking is 'why use any custom texture, if it can be done with ingame'

but i'm also for 'if it needs custom texture, then go all out, don't leave it bland and low-quality'
Well... I guess we can agree to disagree then. The whole point with this project was to create two Pokémon buildings as good as can be, as cheap as possible. I am not sure if you understand the importance of file size when it comes to Pokémon maps in Warcraft 3. In maps like these, you do not have the luxury to "go all out", because it would leave you with an unacceptable file size. Increasing the texture size is therefore not an option.
Furthermore, if you have any precise constructive ideas such as "Bad UV-wrapping for the roof" or similar - Feel free to enlighten me. If you are more precise I could actually sit down and fix it instead of bantering.

Actually nevermind about my post above - I figured out a way to increase the texture quality through texture size differences and mipmap compression. I'll try to update the texture quality somewhere about tomorrow!

These were devised for one of my many map projects - then we thought, why not share? Apart from minor input, all the credit of creation goes to Exyte.

That's true! Encephalych has aided me with some inspiration and ideas to the design of the buildings.
Besides this, further models will be created for this project. So if you're reading this right now and need Pokémon models for your own project - Do not hesitate to give me a message. Chance is we're constructing the model you're looking for.
