Pathway Tactics

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
Pathway Tactics

Pathway Tactics is a two player melee map which can be 1 human which is you and a computer or 2 humans,It is meant to test your command,your speed,and of course your strategy,

The Map Features
Four Gold Mines-Two for each player-and is conveniently located above and below your base,but of course there are creeps there which are Trolls.
A Marketplace-A shop with many items in store,buy anything you see valuable there from the nice goblins.(The Entrance has an orange creep camp in front of it,which is to say Gnolls)

A Fountain of Health which is to the left of the Shop on your screen.
A Fountain of Mana which is to the right of the Shop on your screen.
A Dragon Roost in the Center of the Map,which is Guarded by Two Dragons and Two Drakes,also there are Dragon Whelps wandering around the map.

A few Flying Birds that drop something useful when killed.
A variety of items to be found on the creeps.
6 Green Creep Camps-All down below-Golems and Murlocs
6 Orange Creep Camps-Above and Below your bases and the one in front of the Shop and another one down below-Trolls and Gnolls
2 Red Creep Camps-The Center and down the Center a little-They are Dragons and Ogres



Here are some Tips
The Undead are the fastest of them all,you'd best watch out for them,for me they have the upper hand.
The Night Elves are a force to be reckoned with once they get settled out,They just follow the Undead in Gameplay
The Humans are normal and can be the winner or loser,stuck in the middle for me
The Orcs are slow for me since they have the most expensive troops in the game but when they are up and running,there's no stopping them from achieving what they want,but they are last for me

The Tips are based on and a mix of My Gameplay and the Computer's Gameplay The Tips are from the same race battles only,I don't have tips on different race battles yet.

What you need to do:
The terrain needs significant update. It has few other doodads than trees, and the trees aren't very nicely placed. Additionally, you have only used blizzard cliffs to make the map somewhat different from its original state. While they are placed in an interesting way, it causes some problems aesthetically. the other doodads that are placed, aren't placed very naturally, and they don't really contrubute to a good atmosphere. It feels pretty random, like you placed doodads because you had to, not becasue you wanted to. The tileset is placed in a similiar fashion. Not very natural, and too scattered and dotted to make the ground look like a nice area.

The creep camps are ok in strength, but I would concentrate the gnoll camp a little bit more. I'm not sure if they are intended to be lone camps before the big camp, or if they should be included in the big camp. However, you should move them closer or further away depending on what you intended.

The item drops are generally balanced, but I learned after my first uploaded melee map that they should always be random, as it offers much more variety, and it becomes more balanced. Set the item drops to a random item of a spcified level.

The gold mine expansions should also contain less gold becuase of the map size. In the end of the game you will have way more gold than lumber otherwise. I suggest you reduce them both to 7500 gold.

Also, the description is informative enough, but it lacks structure and is not very appealing in general. I think you can improve this a lot by checking others descriptions out! You can also check the useful links that Aether provided you with in his post.

In short, this map needs mostly a lift terrain-wise, but some balance changes is needed aswell to make it a decent melee map.
Status set to awaiting update.

I changed almost everything,
All works as I want,and IT is the way I want it and planned it to be.
There has been things that we're removed and added,
after all the delays I have updated it.

The description should be fine, but it would be better if you click this, to know more about description.

I suggest to take a look at this. This tutorial can improve your skills in creating a melee map. And this, for you to know how to describe a melee map.

Still Working out on what else to do there,and looking for problems,and when that's done In Game Screenshots arrives.





.......So after a few hours of playing I haven't seen problems or anything I should remove or fix,only the screenshots await now,

24hours and its done,the terrain will change

This will be my last,since I realized something that will stop me,other than my own reasons


(This map is now a bundle,currently working on two maps,updating this one,and an expansion of this,either I Upgrade or Join with Another)

Update,
Only Working on the Map here now since if I upgrade it it will take more than 24 hours,
just improving the terrain now.

Well,It took longer than expected,but it's just halfway through an entire change,Terrain,Creeps and the Others.
I did EVERYTHING to make it a melee map that it doesn't require the expansion,I think,I'll check again
it's been less than 24 hours of working on it anyways,

Hiding the Edges is Harder specially when I can't do what I want with it,and creeps are hard to place now,also some doodads and terrain,
Layout has been changed,..........

I might not even be able to work on this for a while since school started.
