Parasite Resurrection v1.05

Parasite Resurrection is the continuation of the original parasite 2 map by DarkShoGun. Gameplay takes place on a station orbiting a lonely planet, and one of the crew members aboard the station has been infested and killed by a deadly alien parasite that has taken its hosts form. The remaining humans, with the help of the A.I. on board the station must defeat the parasite threat before it infects them!

When the game starts, you are given 1 of 3 classes.
Human: Normal human, team up but becareful who you trust, or do it alon. as anyone could be the infected. Use the weapons and gadgets at your disposal to eliminate the infected.
A.I.: Protect the humans, and upgrade. With your drones and your powerful abilties, you are a great ally to the humans. Unlike parasite 2, the AI is fixed to player 10 (Light blue) and can be disabled by changing a map field.
Parasite: Infect or destroy the humans and the A.I. onboard the station, then spread across the stars. Use trickery or brute force to remove the humans onboard the station and evolve into a greater form.

DarkShoGun (The original maker of parasite) has approved this map.


Yeah, I gave up on this, posted unprotected version, hf adding secrect suits that shoot zerglings, or somthing.

Update, oh and why so little comments?

1.04c
Fixed some major bugs that ruined the game
1.04b
Added the oxygen and the solar suit
Changed the duration of the thermal shield and the ammount of charges it has
Reworked the standard suit
Fixed some bugs involving mind control
Minior bugs and balance changes
Changed some things about ships
Fixed some issues with the AI and creating data
 
Intresting, I'll comment on it after testing.
Out of intrest, did you keep the origional forms or alter and replace some? (such as nerfing the op mental stage 1)

EDIT: I finnaly got round to testing it.

(+) It's parasite, that in itself is a +
(+) You have balanced the forms and given forms new capabilities
(+) You have successfully revived Parasite

(=) It's still rather big

(-) some forms have not been added yet
(-) One blance problem, the version i tested (as i dont know if it was fixed) is that the insect can create infinate eggs and therefore have infinate amount of little parasite, therefore you can slowly make hundreds of gargantuans.

Also tell me please if you know... is parasite 2 dead? I mean, no more versions of it?

And if you knew something the so waited parasite 3?

I´ve been reading the forums but nothing is clear, even DarkShoGun seems to have died a few months ago.

I parasite 2 is dead... Thats why I made this, because parasite 2 was pure awesome.
As for parasite 3... I remeber darkshogun saying something about giving it to someone else.

Oh and 1.04d changelog, its 1.04d.2 because i found some pretty major bugs in the first one, and had to do a quick fix.

Added the incindary round ability to the heavy suit (replaces marker trap)
Redid cyo detection
Fixed a couple of bugs
Reworked the parasite buster
Implemented the gravatron parasite form
Implemented the tank AI form and the Cyborg AI form
Added energy storm for the planet defense system
Buffed the stealth suits cloaking device ability

I could use a version that works on older patches of wc3.

BTW whats "implementation" required for some of the explorer vessels skills?

I tried to use Mind control with atronach on the abomination (sigma strain i guess) and it didn't work. Then, i couldn't use the spell anymore because it said "cooldown" so bug.
The napalm fire does stand forever on the ground ?
Well your elves gates are kinda odd in this type of game and you maybe added too much strong animals to infest (it won't take long to parasite to take over all the animals if he wants). No more drugs and alcohol ? (alcohol is good for alien)
And how to land on the planet ? i didn't succeed in !

No, it goes away, just takes along time

Drugs and alcohol are being redone and will be added later. To land on the planet you must use your dock vessel ability found the ability options place. Turning engines off while using this is a smart idea too.

Try some of the older versions of the map. I think post 1.03c-d work

So you can't evolve after Atronach without implementation...
And we can't land with the station ! And we can't launch the station auto-destruction, i guess it's not a hard feature to add and it was GREAT, when everything is fucked for the last marine, you can trap aliens and blow the station up. It makes ONE more possibility to end the game (and can be avoided easily).
Maybe you didn't add it because it makes the game lags a lot when it explodes but it was really fun, you can trap alien in bridge too, start the countdown and when he comes, kill him with an established strategy :)
Hope you'll readd this feature ! Same for Station Landing.

Yay, my map has pissed someone off, finally, im getting somewhere.

Oh, I finally got around to redoing the terrain/door system, meaning 1.05a should be around soon. If you wish to test, just wisper me or go to channel clan ark @ uswest and ask people.

Optimised the door system
Fixed a bug with time dilation
Fixed a bug with station landing
Changed the bender's crush ability so it shows you how much damage you did
Changed some abilities on the sentinel and the cyborg
Nerfed bombs and fixed a bug with them
Improved the visuals of the sigma strain vial
Added in mobile armor suit for when the parasite reaches t4
Added the Expell ability for the oxygen suit
Redid item stocks

Hehe yeah, it should be Team up but becareful who you trust.

Anyways, this is a good successor to Parasite 2. I have an unfinished Parasite 3 map, if you want to finish it up bswhunter I can send you it through email. It has many great features, and awesome custom terrain and doodads. My editor is bugged to hell for some reason so completion doesn't seem possible for me, and anyways Starcraft 2 isn't far off.

Ehm... When I played no1 became parasite... So we ended up killing each other, until I was the only one left ingame! I played v1.05b.2 When I tested later in singleplayer, I did become parasite and captain, so I wonder what the problem is... After having played a couple of more times, it hasn't happened ever since...

Very nice game, btw :) I really like the improvements over the original parasite!

Now that's an awesome map! I play it often with friends :smile:
Just...i think that oxygen system doesn't work properly,as when someone turns off oxygen device,i don't lose it whether i'm in suit or no.
Also i've found a bug,but i can't remember sufficient info for you to fix,i just remember that i had heavy suit and that i lost pathing - i could walk over walls and camp on them to kill others (It was funny though :xxd:)

EDIT: Forgot to mention 2 more things. I was once in jail for TK-ing,and i had heavy suit with me,i used "Fortify" ability and i was able to shoot people outside the prison.
The other thing is that Guardian AI's abilities are too weak in my opinion. The ability that uses energy to deal additional damage barely does anything.

Ok i add one more comment because i found bugs :
- when anything attacks the hight security sentry gun, it nevers fight back !
- you can kill all sentry guns with the sigma strain carnisher
- euphoria doesn't work on alien (i guess it's made on purpose)
- no more alcools but the recycler speaks about puke
- how can the body alien (tier1) can catch fleeing humans ? he can't sprint as in parasite 2... and lacks high damage...
- the atronach can't evolve into illusionnist or wtf ? what is implementation yet ? illusionnist is the second funniest form :p
- also why the body evolution (insect for example) can't steal life (with vampiric drain) like his "ancestor" because it's stupid for him to lose this ability, it's passive o_0
- alien in alien form can't use omega strain to transform, is it normal ?

what the F***? When me and my friend try to select this game on LAN to play it crashes warcraft instantly before coming up even and gives us some annoying error thingo. Does anyone know why that happens?
