Pandaren Warlord

A model based on artwork by Samwise Didier. My first try on a pandaren model. I'm satisfied how it turned out.

Give credits if you use it and enjoy! :)

Works in-game, performs appropriately and is a good addition to the model section. Excellent work!

Ooh-hoo, the Pandaren love these last few weeks is #real. : )

I really rather like this model; it offers a very tantalizing dilemma because I was already pretty set on using the Beta Brewmaster (the one with the more warlike helmet & pike) for precisely this purpose (a Pandaren Warlord or "Shodo-Pan")... But this is really rather well-suited to the concept as well, and is custom!

My only gripes are minor ones:
- The SFX are cool but you use (essentially) the same ones for 2 of 3 relevant animations (Attack Slam & Spell); try to find some way to differentiate them a tiny bit more? (@Direfury seems to have this down pat so tweak his ear)
- The texturing is great & I don't mind the ornate-ness of the pauldrons & what-not, but the sword... It's so fancy. It's very nice but it feels like a lot is going on (including Team-Color??) for what is essentially just a weapon (for reference, the Pandaren Brewmaster's keg & staff are just a few, muted colors & a design or two at most; most other's are very simplistic (Tauren Chieftain's halberd, Paladin's hammer, etc).
//EDIT// - Also, frickin'... You just can't make a model based off of artwork (esp. Samwise) & not post the artwork. Lol. : )

Good stuff!

Ooh, nice. I haven't seen that one before.

That also explains the texturing of the sword (which, I must point out you did a great job of recreating). However, I stand by my analysis that while it's great for a gallery piece, for a game should probably have a less-complex textured blade. Just my $0.02.

He looks a bit too stout for a WC3 Pandaren but I really like the concept and idea! 4/5 for now but if you manage to reshape him into looking more organic next to the vanilla WC3 models, I'll change to 5/5.

And how about making a female variation or another female Pandaren hero? Would be REALLY useful due to the lack of female-anything models on here

Wow really nice work here, maybe tone the mustache a slightly darker. And perhaps consider making some small edits to the blade. It currently has a lot of unneeded additional curves. Perhaps consider going for a more defined shape in the form of a more traditional chinese dao broad sword. It wuold work very well with this design as well.
