I created the first version of the map in 2016 ([Defense / Survival] - The Paesants Uprising). It was a very simple and not well made map just for the fun. With the new patches and functions added to the editor i got some new ideas.

GAMEPLAY

Paesant Uprising is a point and click defense map. The main objective of the map is similar to a tower defense. Increasing waves of enemies spawns and the player has to prevent the enemie's units to reach a circle of power, if a unit enters the circle the player lose one life. When the lifes are 0 the map is lost. Survive all waves with at least 1 life to win.

The player does not control any unit. Only one hero is selected the whole time. This hero can level up and learn different abilities that the player can use with the mouse commands.
The mouse commands are based on the new functions, so for example to cast the most basic spell you have to press and hold left mouse button to preview the area and relese to cast the spell and do damage. There are different type of spells for damaging and slowing enemies and other to create obstacles in the enemies trail.

Across the map there are some interactive units and object the player can use to get some help.
There are also environment interactions.

I will add more stuff like more spells, enemies secrets and such. Also i am planning to make a map with a different setting. A dungeon map with more traps and environment options.

The map is for two players but considered as a 4 player map.

  1. Esercito instead of Force
  2. An arcane ring (smaller one, fist spell/left click) remained on the ground during the tutorial.
  3. The arcane projectiles (second spell/right click) don't have homing properties. It's a bit hard to use them without crowd control purposes since the area of effect is small.
  4. Spells need some more details in their description, how much damage they deal etc. Learn about tooltips:

  5. The not enough mana message is spammed when fast clicking. It's annoying.
  6. Not sure if intentional but you can spam left click even if your mana is 0, especially for ice spells.
  7. A blue circle remained on the ground during battle.
  8. The Teleport Ion Cannon doesn't take mana. You can continuously use it since it has no cooldown after it expires.
  9. More things to do on the map like the tome, arcane vault and glaive thrower would be nice and maybe some randomized locations for the first two.
  10. The tomes should give more than just some quick useless messages.
  11. Generally the spells should be balanced, some are too strong and take less mana and others weak and requires lots of mana.
  12. After the 4th wave nothing happened. Also, maybe use more Peasant varieties, some stronger, faster, invisible (temporary or something) etc. Learn more from tower defense maps.
It needs more waves so I can approve it. It feels like a demo right now.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

Hello. Firstly thanks for the review.

There are 4 players slot used. Player 1 red. The player 2(blue) is there because i plan to add 2 (or more) player co-op. The other 2 are the npcs and the enemies.

1. That's becasue i had warcraft 3 localized in italian, i changed it with the new patch but it seems that some strings are still in italian. Will fix.

2. 7. Will look into triggers to see if i can fix it but when i tested it it didn't happened to me. For the blue circle the Ice power ablity was level one or two?

3. You can click and release or hold. The missile takes some time to reach the target location and that delay may be reduced to improve the aim. As for the homing properties it was not intended, maybe i can add it on level 2.

5. I will add a delay between messages.

6. Not intentional at all. For the Left-Mouse Ice spell the mana cost is very low (3) and if the hero has a hight level i can be casted prety mutch always cause of mana regen.

8. Will add a cooldown for the Ultimate, the fact that it doesn't need mana is intentional.

9. There are more things than the ones you mentioned. Some are just hidden.

10. The tomes are generated randomly. Some of them are just tomes with famous popular quotes of magic, but there is a chance to get intelligence tome that give +5 int, and experience tome that gives 1000 exp points.

11. Will balance them.

12. That is strange, there are 5 waves. I was planning to add more peasant varietes, there are 2 in the map for now.

I agree about the map feeling like a demo. This map was an experiment to see if it was funny and I was waiting for people to give some feedback about it. With all the stuff one can do with WE a simple point and click map could have been boring.

I will update the map.

You teleported a kid, but not all kids are Timmy ;).
The bear needs to be awaken. Damage won't wake him up, his skin is too thick.

I posted a working progress map there. This is supposed to be the final version. I didn't want to make the map too long, 20/30 mins max, that's why there are only 5 waves, but i may add a little more.

I teleported all I could see on the map. Guess, Timmy was somewhere else.
