Orgrim Doomhammer

This bundle is marked as high quality. It exceeds standards and is highly desirable.
The true Warchief of the Horde, Orgrim Doomhammer.

I promise this is the last time I'll make him. Probably.

Thanks to Zaljinzoo for animation suggestions and Traggey for texturing feedback.

Can't get Matrix Eater running currently, so have not been able to linearize animations. Because of this filesize is a tad bit high. Will update when I get it running.

UPDATE: Linearized the animations and shaved off about 100kb. I seem to notice that the animation quality dropped a tiny bit, especially during Spell animation. But I guess it's worth it for some people. I've uploaded the non-optimized version here. It also includes texture without compression.

UPDATE 2: Svetli made an icon for this model. I was told to link to it here so it can get approved.

Splendid model and texture work. Great animations. Works perfectly ingame and suits the Warcraft 3 style.

Thanks guys, glad you like it :)

He has the essence of classical warcraft III models, but he looks awesome (compared with other wc3's ones) I'd like to see those animations in action recreating Thrall's history.

That might happen! ;)

Okay, now that I've tested this model I can say something more about it.
Firstly, I like how you did the mesh. Fits very well in game with other heroes (just like your every model) and that's what I like the most. I figured you used/edited some animations from your Lothar model, they fit very well on this guy too. I love all the spell animations, especially spell animation. And now about the texture, everything seems nice, I like how you gave him TC on the shoulder pads. This texture of yours reminds me of Traggey's one he made for his Thrall model.

To sum everything up I think I would give every model of yours from Krasus to Doomhammer a DC rating, but I guess that's just me.
Perfect, as always.

I really want to use this model, but the decision basically stands and falls with the death animation. For cinematic purposes I would really like for him to fall on his back, so one can see his face one last time. Please see this video for reference:
(at 20m51s)

Oh darn, I actually made the alternate death animations specifically with your campaign in mind. I'm not sure how to make him fall backwards with the current stance without it looking awkward, but I could take a look at it. I'm quite busy now, so it probably wouldn't be until after Christmas.

Thanks! :)

Hmm, it probably wouldn't be that easy I'm afraid. Not with my setup anyway. Maybe it would be easily done in Mdlvis or Matrix Eater, but I can't think of a way to do it in 3Ds Max that would be easier than simply making a new animation. Unfortunately I don't really have any experience with those two programs.

Should he or could he be brown instead of green? Either way I love it!! The only problem is for some reason I cannot import it. When I want to import to Art Model it looks blank, and in the Unit Palette appears as a green box. Ive imported so many other models successfully so im almost certain that I am doing it correctly.

Trying to work with this model now but likely I revert back to the old one - simply because I need the camera to zoom in on his face for a final farewell. Unless maybe someone else got some other idea.

edit: I don't really need any complicated animation. Just him lying on his back would be enough (e.g. rotating his Stand Fourth animation). I would use camera cuts to make it work.

edit: it's oK. I got it via making the model a special effect and rotating the pitch.
