Concept of the map and mechanics

Object of The Game
The object of the game is to destroy the other player’s Orc Warlord and to defend your own. Creeps spawn in the center of the map every 310 seconds and you can get A LOT of gold from them. In addition There are 3 boss creeps that I added and these bosses are obvious (because of their size) and when you kill them you not only get a good sized gold bonus but you get 15 lumber (per boss kill). The Lumber is used to buy the best item in the game (costs 20 lumber) and you can buy 1 lumber for 500 so this will dramatically reduce the cost of this item! With every kill of units or hero’s you get gold (more gold for hero's than for units.
Hero's
The hero’s max level is 50, all ability's have 5 skill levels, ultimate has 2 skills levels, Attribute bonus has 25 skill levels. I have many custom spells and custom skins in my map to make game-play more exciting.
Item's
There are 48 different items that you can buy. Charged items can be stacked.
Researchable Units and Their Upgrades
There are 3 researchable units and upgrades for those units go up to level 25. The exception is Berserker Strength upgrade which only goes up to level 15 (due to them being too imbalanced if they get any more than 1000 health.
Hero Selection
Commands are Repick hero's (just type –repick) You can Random your hero by Selecting Random Hero Alter However you cannot repick (but randomed hero's get a special item).

Comment: Good enough quality, although I always expect new footman maps to include real custom spells, but this one has a functioning and neat AI :)
However you need to post a full credits list. (custom imports)

Ok i tested your map and heres a short review :
- (((( Ai ))))first of all the Ai wont work if you wont provoke it it will just patrol between theyr main building and the entrance to the central part ... well if you atack one of their units they will begin to work normally so this is the first problem ( ai 4/5 )
- (((( Gameplay )))) I suggest you reduce the collision size of the units a little bit because you get anoyed when you get stucke all the time between units wich refuse to move ( Gameplay 3/5 )
- (((( Fun Factor )))) I find the map pretty fun mostly because of the custom orc models and of course because of the bloody battle between them ( Fun Factor 4/5 )
- (((( Loading screen and aesthetics )))) Pretty cool ( Loading Screen and aesthetics 4.5/5 )
- (((( Replayability Factor )))) Like most of the footman wars map the replayability factor is pretty hight so ( Replayability Factor 5/5 )
- (((( Terrain )))) Could use some work ... you just cannot use a template for example and make it ... be inovative make it special ( Terrain 2/5 )
- (((( Ingame Lag Problems )))) None so big to be mentioned ( 5/5 )
- (((( Resources within the map )))) I believe you can add way more stuff then it is now ( 2/5 )
- (((( Object Editor )))) Pretty neat could use some colors within the name ( Object Editor 4/5 )
- (((( Personal Way of View )))) I believe this map has a bright future if more interest put in it ... try to make the gameplay and the combat much more bloody and swifter .. import or make cool spells for the 24 heroes or so ... add spree-sistem ...

Overall Rating : 3.90/5 or so ... so 4/5 !

You have some really good suggestions. Thank you for reviewing my map. And yes I am working on the AI as we speak. In my next release I should have a fix. Oh and a spree system sounds awesome! I will pursue adding that thanx for the advice.

Edit: I am currently adding much more custom spells too for my next update. Also I did not use a template I made this from scratch.

well its no problem but hey i wanted to tell you this ... its a fair review but my suggestion for the goodness of the map is this ... make that changelog with the mistakes i tiped implement a few ideeas of your own make sure the map gameplay doenst last too much or too long balance a little the units make sure it doesnt lags fraps etc too much at least ... and then release it on garena with a host bot ... that will make your map grow big...because i think my opinion is that hiveworkshop is just for map affirmation my opinion and for a fair lets say rating from the mods here i think this site will will only keep your map dead no offense to the staff here ... if your map grows big youll receive lots of email with wanted changes for the map for that you need a proper good site my opinion also... then you get a huge changelog and you will need to create a forum on the respective site ... update there the changelogs and the time when the next version is released make sure you upload some full house spectacular games with some nice music on youtube also or just wc3 ingame music ... I wrote this because i believe you can get over the footman industry since the footman maps out there are outdated full of bugs and old ... you might have a chance to the top 10 footman maps in matter of playing at least... good luck and happy making again

Thanx for the advice HappyTauren. I'm glad you like my map that much. Ive been adding more spells and balancing them as well in addition to optimizing more triggers and adding in rally points for units. Once I make or import another 5-7 spells, balance them, and get the AI to attack when I order them to (instead of them attacking after 2 min) I will release the update.


To avoid double posting I am editing this comment so I can let everyone know I just updated my map!

Sorry guys about double posting but just an FYI. I accidentally put up the wrong version of V5.2.4 but now have corrected it. The other one was laggy due to me tampering with the AI. I didn't think I uploaded that one but I just found out I did. It has been corrected now.

great. If you have any advice please give it cuz I have noticed from my map testers and other people is that most of their advice was the best improvements to my game :).


Update: V5.2.5 has been released with some fixes and a new spree system! Hope you all enjoy it.

ive played your map in 2vs2vs1ai(computer normal)+1user ... heres what ive seen the ai ripps asses beats asses too much it is very fast very calculated etc lets say its no problem but humans cant really play vs ai ... first of all second of all the game is imbalanced on the sword upgrades and armor levels i mean ... it costs 1000 or so to add a new unit to the waves but with 1000 gold you get swords lvl 9 etc and your kick asses way more than with that new unit ... make the units smaller i think they have 1.0 atm make them like 0.7 scaling value ... btw make the orc warlords summon units interval bigger i think it is like lets say 15 seconds make the spawn interval 20+ seconds ... so the battle will be more tactical and human players can really take control cuz the game moves too fast to be calculated for a human user ... i have a new twist in mind for the game make the orc warlords able to call and bring to the waves for example elf archer for a cost or human sniper or some of these ... balance the heroes some of them are really unbalance use a math table where you sum all their atack numbers and etc and abilities balance them by playing ... if you need further help from me in the map i want to be co-op partner with you looking at the development of the map ! Thank you for testing my map. What I can do is make you a beta tester. In the first two posts you gave me you gave me some very good ideas. Thank you for that. You just have to know I wont make all the changes you talk to me about just like I do with all the beta testers lol. Some ideas dont mesh with what I want to make the map. As long as you are ok with that then sure u can become a beta tester and recieve credits.

In response to the AI if thier too hard make it easy AI instead of normal. I've played plenty of multiplayer battles with my 2 beta testers in 3 v 3 v 3 v 3 with all insane AI and won a multitude of times. I wont change the AI thank you tho for the advice. Its just you need to get familiar with the game. Also use rally points which help with your micro alot.

Moreover, I dont want to include more spawn waves for 2 reasons: the first being that it creates too many units in the game and will lagg the game (the only solution to do that is to use morphing like the other footmen games but I dont want to do that). Second is because the units you suggested in adding were not orcish at all.

Lastly, I completely agree with the hero balancing thing. I d'ld a tool from this site to balance them. I am aware that they need some more balancing and I am working on it :)
