"Greet the new day, Brother" as a Mythic Dawn agent would say. This is yet another attempt for me to get one of my skins on Hiveworkshop. I didn't like the team colors on it very much when I tested it, So I removed them. The symbols on the Agent is the Mythic Dawn Sun. I have seen some Oblivion maps, But no Mythic Dawn skins in them, So why not fix that problem? Oblivion is a Xbox game and happens to be one of my All-time Favorites. I hope you all enjoy my new skin!

Keywords:
oblivion, mythic dawn, xbox, greetthenewdaybrother.

The Skins' layout seems to be messed up by the uploading but, it works fine without those acolyte parts in it ingame, Try it out and If you see a problem please inform me. Have fun with my Skin :D!

To be honest with everyone, I did not like the team color for the robes and those MDS's, I thought it was a horrible add on, So I'm going to upload a new skin without that on it.

I uploaded the updates on the skin and I think it looks way better. I even included a "robe line" where it shows where the robe starts at. You can't see it on the Screenshot very much, But I saw it clearly in the game.

The idea is cool, but you need a serious amount of shading on this skin, especially the face and robes, to give it some good definition.

I gave some shading on the robes, But I guess it doesn't show that much on it, And well, The face could use more shades on it, I agree, But from Oblivion thats how most faces look so I kept it that way. But I'll see if I can shade it a bit without screwing it all up.

It's 1:00am here for me :S, so I'm going to get off for now, I'll update the skin with the new shades and everything suggested tomorrow after 12:00pm.

Shade it and texture it like silk, dagger don't look metallic at all take a look at blizzards sword skins, they are good examples

Thank you for the tips, I'll work on it tomorrow morning.

Ok, so I said "To hell with doing it tomorrow morning, I'll finish some of it now." So I gave the face some shades and added some lights to the dagger to make it look more metallic. Also I did a little work on the hood to make it have more..... Texture. But, I could still use opinions, Keep em coming xD! (I'm signing off for today.)

i sincerely hope you havent screenshoted oblivion for the face cos thats what it looks like to me. and the face is the only thing that looks decent here. everything else is just a red smudge.

No I didn't. It may seem like that but the face took me like 10 hours just to make it like that.. I use Hue and saturation to lighten and darken up bits of the face. I put the hair on it. Redid the eyes a couple times (since they were messed up ingame). I spent a long time on my xbox fixing up an Imperials face and staring at it while on GIMP making it. So.. I didn't just screenshot it or steal an image.

Plus, The mythic dawn robes are a complete red with black shoes, and black gloves. I tried to give as much detail as I could to make it look similar to the robes they have. (Luckily I kept the mythic dawn robes from the beginning of the game on my main profile level 23, with master in almost all the magic skills). I gave some shades and markings onto it since the robes arn't all just one exact big blob of red. I added the Mythic Dawn Sun artwork onto it, since it isn't originally there. I do admit I pulled the Sun artwork off the internet images though, I don't think I could get too much detail on one of those if I made it myself....

face is most definatly cnp'd from oblivion. Anybody skinning the acolyte would never waste time putting on detailed lips and mouth, when those are barely visible in the portrait and hidden behind that cloth. And the difference in quality is just too great. Besides, why worry about the face when the cloth (the piece that is most visible in game) is horrendous quality?

The face wasn't ripped, I had the mouth and the chin visible from before but I think it looked better with it hidden away so i lowered the mouth and chin while tinting the cloth covering it a dark red like the rest of the clothing. I do admit my clothing could use some work on it, But Its 1:30 over here, and I must get some sleep. I will definitely work on it in the morning! Good night everybody!

Just to put it out there, The mouth and nose and other features on the face arn't as hard as they look to be when I made them, But for me it was quite a difficult matter since this is one of my first skins ever made. I just stared at my TV screen all day while Oblivion was on drawing it.

Not to brag or anything like that, But I have been told from my friends I am pretty good at painting on a computer and drawing on a piece of paper. I do have some artwork I made.

hmm. That face doesnt look very nice ingame. That dagger needs a lot of work-it doesnt look like metal and on skin it looks like gray plate. Robe needs more shading and highlights. And that sun isnt in real oblivion-if you want it there then its looking OK
This is all i can say to it.

I dunno, if you took 10 hours making the face, why did so stupidly not make the skintone even where the hood should be on the face? Is is supposed to be bad hair? Is it supposed to be hair that was made in 10 SECONDS? If you took so much detail on the face, why don't you take some time on the rest of the skin? This will never get accepted in its current state.

This has potential to turn out pretty good if you spend a few more hours on it. I must say, it's a vast improvement from your previous skin, good job.

First of all, the face looks rather horrid in game, it doesn't fit in and it's blurry. You should make it darker (because of the hood) and define it more, by using darker lines like on the original. Try to keep the human look though (the colours you've used are fine for the most part, you just need them to be darker where the hood makes a shadow). I can't really tell from the preview how the hair looks on the portrait, but I'm not sure it's such a good idea, and either way, it needs more definition and shading. Right now it's a block of yellow.

As for the robe, you've got a decent idea going. The texture and folds is more or less prepared, you just need to enhance the shading. You should use a hard brush (3px or 1px would be good) with medium opacity and a dark (slightly green) colour to make the shadows in the cape darker. Then use the same brush with a brighter (slightly orange or yellow) colour to make the highlights. You could also try to give the cape as a whole a general shading based on how the body looks in-game.

I can't really judge the symbol, because it's not clearly visible in the preview and I can't be bothered downloading your skin, but I think it could use some work to make it stand out more. For instance, you could make a thin (1px), dark line around it. The dagger could use more work as well, it's too blurry. Use smaller, hard brushes to achieve a clearer look. Highlights on metal are very sudden and bright (shiny, in other words).

In summary dont Cnp cos it looks bad, especially when you can't Cnp the other bits like the cloth.

Well no I was over exaggerating about the "10 hours" sorry, But it did take some time. The hair doesn't show up much so I made it not as good quality and the robes arn't that bad in my opinion if you we're to compare them to a mythic dawn. But not exactly as to saying This IS mythic dawn. He does need many, many improvements that I will try to fix but the robes do look pretty good ingame...

The dagger definitely needs some work, I will continue to work on it. I just made a quick outline of it and some shades and what not for it now. But I will continue to make progress. Also, The Symbol is the Sun from the Mythic Dawn's flag. If you play Oblivion and you get to the main quest part where you must infiltrate the Mythic Dawn and become one of them to get the Mysteries Xarxis back (sorry for misspell), The entrance has a flag right next to it and the Sun is on it.

I must start saying that oblivion is truly the best game i've ever played.
I guess it's a quite good idea, but you could bring up better screenshot than that.
The face looks 100% like an oblivion face, you realy have a talent or you just copied...
Robe need better and maybe you should try draw your own face :) ?

Haha, Yes I love Oblivion too, But I drew and painted that face. No copying and pasting what so ever, Im uploading a brand new skin with shades and a newly defined robes and a new screenshot.

Having some technical difficulties, I'm going to restart my computer. It'll be only a couple minutes.

Ok, I've uploaded the newly improved shaded skin, The face needs more shades and the hair could use more defining as does the dagger, I will continue to work on them. I uploaded this to give you a preview of what I'm currently doing. As to say, I'm keeping you posted :D.

Strangely my new skin and my new screenshot are not uploading... I will try to fix this..

Alright I fixed the problem, I will continue to do some defining on the hair and dagger and shade them properly.

PROTECT THE EMPEROR!!!!

lol, I knew it was only a matter of time until the Mythic Dawn from Oblivion found thier way to the Hive.

I give you points for creativity but this model is really lacking, you should base the face and clothes more of the acolyte or
atleast redo them from scratch.

As it stands I give you a 3/5 but this has quite alot of potential to be a great model...

Regards,

Jake

Alrighty, I'll add some more shadows and highlights to it xD. I am having a problem with it for a certain part at the moment.. The back of the bottom robe isn't shaded like I wanted it to be, But i'm not exactly sure where the back of the bottom robes exactly is on the skin layout. I'll see if I can find it, But if anyone can point it out for me that would be great.

It might be of help, or it might not, but check it out.

I'm not familiar with skins, so whenever I do one, and unknown which part is the one I'm looking for; I do use primal and secondary colors, such as light green, blue, red, etc. and I paint in lines, so when I test it at the Wc3 Viewer, I can define such areas.
