a Castle Fight like map

v0.47 beta *UPDATED*


Worked on this map for a couple of weeks. It's a bit like Castle Fight and I would like to have some feedback on it. Its pretty stable and balanced if I say so myself, so check it out!

Gameplay
The objective of the map is to destroy the other teams castle, by doing so you win the game. The map is played 2vs2, 3vs3, 4vs4 or 5vs5. There is the ability to add computer players (put a computer in an empty player slot).

The unit you control in the map is your builder, which can build specific buildings depending on which race you picked. These buildings auto spawn units that fight their way to the enemy castle. Only thing for you to do is to choose which buildings to build, use items from your castle, and use your rescue strike properly.

Different than CF?
Mush uses three lanes to battle, one being a water lane for boats and air units only, giving the map a unique tweak. Also has different units with different abilities than CF. More fast paced action!

The terrain seems good, the gameplay seems nice and fun, there is lots of information provided in the quests, I really like it how theres lots of settings, and I also like it how you can pick from a wide range of races, but could you tell me how you get gold?

You gain gold every 10 seconds, and the amount increases depending on how many buildings you've build, they generate your income. The mush (lumber) is gained when you spend gold on building buildings.
I think that should be stated in the quest log or when you hover over your gold.

Tested the map.

first the pros:
i really liked the idea of the sea line. quite unique.
i also liked the usage of custom models.

now for the cons:
it extremely appears like a castle fight rip-off.
played 2player vs 2bots
the first round was automatically chosen? wtf?
also after the first round we used pickable race, then we got a window with "choose your race" written on it but WITHOUT ANY OPTIONS TO CHOOSE FROM(<--needs definately to be fixed, otherwise it will never get an approval from me)
some units also seem very imballanced to me (small tank for example)
is it really necessary to have similiiar towers+ultimates(in case of dmg+skills) for every race...?


rating:
2/5 lacking + vote for rejection for now.
make it less like a copy of cf and make it more your own way.
the rejection is because of the pick a race bug which makes the game unplayable if this mode has been chosen.

I'm keeping the name, sorry if some people don't like it. About the other issues (like the buttons when choosing modes after the first round) I will try to fix them and update the map in the coming days.

EDIT: I've uploaded a new version that doesn't bug at the menu "choose race". Will look into the other stuff later on, for now this version works 100%.

Ok, I tested the map twice with a few people online and everyone seemed to enjoy it. If you buy an item on your worker then play another round the items you brought last round will still be on the floor. Also for balancing I sudjest making the nagas building that steals an enemies unit cost more gold and lumber because I won in 1v2 by spamming them :/. Overall it is a good map but is very similar to castlefight >.> perhaps think up a few original ideas to put in the map then it will boost my rateing from 4/5 to 5/5.
Good job on the map :D

You can pick your own settings when you chose "custom game" at the start of the map :)

looks like you missunderstood me...
again. if you select the "choose your race" mode, you dont have any races to choose from, only a blank box without any content which leads to a game quit since you cant close that stupid box.

Okay, to test this I just downloaded the file and played chosing custom game. Everything works fine for me. Perhaps you're still using an old version where that bug exists?

I'm sorry for it, it should be fixed in the newest version.

Hi, I just tried the map, it's pretty much like castle fight xD I loved it. Here the issues I found:

1 - Once, playing with a friend of mine, he used rescue but the score didn't change.
2 - He bought 3 blast satff, and when we remake the game, the itens were near the castle. He picked it up and couldn't drop anymore. boring bug :(
3 - When we remake a 2x2 game and try to remake as custom game, it stuck, i can't choose any custom options.

I did change some triggers to make it less heavy for the machine, but the rather large map size and the amount of units does cause lag unfortunately (especially late game). Any suggestions to reduce that are more than welcome :)

Yes, CF with a twist. CF wasn't the first of its type of map, there was battlefield before that if I remember correctly.

Hope you have some fun with this map :)

You can pick a race by chosing "Custom Game" at the start of a game, here you can set your own game.

Glad you like it so much, I'll see what I can do. Its just not my priority yet, but I'll do my best to finish my current project and focus back on this :)

me and my brother liked this game but i got pissed off when his batrider rushed my darkness towers when he got debuffed

Restarting the game may end up with an Undead AI that does not play.
Bear Riders stop at the middle of the lower lane.
Artillery towers are overpowered.
Life Gate is overpowered. There should be a limit of how many could be built.
There's a bug with the text wrongly saying how many units were killed by the large explosion.
There's also a problem with troops doing what the players put them to, sometimes.

Maybe a lil more work on balance.
Add skip cinematic for faster play.

I played this map a lot of times. It's fun but also frustrating due to some imbalanced stuff. For some reason I like it more than Black Law Hills.

Are workers supposed to repair mechanical units? They just go after them instead of repairing the buildings. Gotta' be extra careful.
The undead AI built two giants and that should not be allowed.
