Author's Notes and Trivia:
  • Optimized models have built-in portrait animations, fixed bugs (if there were any), additional animation (if applicable). These can be used to serve as a template for alternative skins if you want to keep the original skin and model.

I have to admit that the variations you did are pretty amazing and flashy. I especially like the Pandaren/Monkey one. Works in-game and performs well. Great job!

Love the Kul Tiras units, wish we had a few more (the worker and soldier in the Hive database are ok but they don't have the classic uniform.)

I have been seen a lot of this models with the variation thingy, and my question is why add an optimized version or the "classic" version to the pack? i mean he have it already in the game, and optimizing a model who usually is seen for a far view doesn't change anything at all :(

The thing with the optimized version is that it has a "build-in" Portrait and has either linearized animations or wrap fixes or both, while the in-game one has a separate portrait file.

While it is questionable why someone would do this. It isn't intirely useless.

For example: You want to make a pandaren, goblin or gnome version of the Mortar Team. Now if you use the ingame one you also have to edit the Portrait file. For me it is irritating to constantly edit the portrait file, if i change something for the Main model. That's why i would rather download the optimized version with 'build-in' Portrait and edit it this way than edit the ingame one while also maintaining separate the portrait file.

And now we wait for The Goblin Cannon Team and The Forsaken/Scourge Cannon Team. Will there be a possibility of you making a Burning Legion/Gan'arg Cannon team though?

Edit: In the Dark Iron cannon team model the Chaos Warlord's body texture, I think, would best suit the bigger dwarf to better differentiate the two from each other.

Hey Ujimasa Hojo i am a huge fan of all your work and the fact that you put so much effort into so many models. Can you possibly make the Goblin and Ogre version a little bit different. Although the animations would have to be different I just feel that the Ogre should be much larger.

Thanks,

More possible awesome derivative for these include:
- Undead Skeleton Mortar Team

Another Hivers is already making skeletal versions of in-game units.

I'm afraid of altering the geosets too much because it might mess with the animations.

- Hozen

You know a Pandaren team is a nice option too.

I've always wanted a Pandaren-Hozen duo. The only problem is making the Hozen head.

Demon mortar team!

How about DEMONSPAWN MORTAR TEAM! Sounds cool right?
What is the difference between a demon and a demon spawn?

You may want to use a forest stalker head ?

Does "Linearized" mean "converted to linear interpolation"? Because if so, then that is a bad thing. Bezier interpolation looks much better. I don't really see the use of the "optimized" versions, though i guess your point about portraits is valid.

Great pack btw! So many unique variations! I would love the metal golem version better though if the spotter didn't have a babyface.
