One of the more well-done battle scenes, i must say. Excellent terraining, very creative use of doodads, excellent special effects and use of imported material, and fun cinimatic to watch. Outstanding work in every aspect. This gets a Director's Choice Award from me.

Although this may not be as epic, dramatic or story-driven as the beach battle scene in Shipwrecked 7, it is still an above average cinimatic. My only suggestion: Run the music as a non 3-D sound instead of regular music. The volume of music is automatically cut in half during cinimatics, and I could barely hear it. Playing it as a sound variable instead of a music variable eliminates that.

I like it, but I didnt like the terrain very much
I also find it wierd that the fighting units didnt die, maybe u could let em die but just make some armies that arrive later. also the archers stopped shooting i think.
I did like the cannon balls and the units that flew away.

the 1 on 1 fight was really good, except the parts where they were standing ext to eachother for 1 min just hitting every 0.5 sec, u could add sme effects with that or sumthing, it was also laggy on my comp (but my computer is 4 years old :p) and it went stuck somewhere in the cinematic (not cuz of the cinematic but cuz of the lag)

overall really nice cinematic

SHIT!
I had a complete review ,posted it and suddenly my IE CRASHES!

shees . . .

Well here are my ratings , i didnt really like the terrain too like ramza said , like the castle looked like a throne chamberwith no roof and better walls , it had no inside , you should work on that if you would make any other maps with castles me thinks.

Terrain and doodads: [7/10]
Special effects: [8.5/10]
Action: [9/10]
Cinematography: [7/10]

Its not your comp ramza, the cinematic IS laggy. I have a brand new powerfull comp and my fps (frame per second) dropped many times below 20 (and that is very bad).

Also you might want to turn off the enviorement sounds (or what ever it was called), i find it weird that you could hear dogs barking, grasshoppers singing, wolfs howling and birds singing when you look at two guys talking at the castle or the camera floating over big sea.

The cinematic was nicely done, no doubt, its much more technically better than the cines i've made, but i didnt enjoy watching it because of the massive lag.

VGsatomi: Wow, thanks a lot!
One song was once a Midi file and it became quiet after I converted it to mp3. :(
Thanks for the sound tip.

Ramza: What do you mean with the armies didn't die? Do you mean that I should have shown it how they kill each other?
The archers stop shooting because the enemies are too near. They don't want to kill their own soldiers.
Oh, come on that were only 20 seconds.
Thanks.

Thunderhorn: Yes, the castle is very small and there's not much inside. But since it's so small I didn't want to put much inside, because all those soldiers need some room.
Thanks for the comment.

Mini-Me: I turned off the environmental sound, but these sounds were still there after that. If you know how to remove them, then please let me know.
And my computer is nearly 2 years old and there is only one scene were it slows down a bit.
Maybe you're just too exacting.
Thanks.

OK, get ready for my review! :)

Terrain/Scenery:
The terrain out except the self-constructed buildings was very good, but the castle and the temple had too many models of the same type put just besides each other (e.g. 50 columns make a wall and 35 torches also). You should try to vary this a little more, don't use only one model, combine them. And use the simple ones in masses, not the more interesting ones because then these more interesting ones turn out much better. 4/5
Camera:
Not very bad, but not very good at the same time. You show much too much mass scenes and too few closer perspectives. Example: You show the whole two armies fighting in one image. They don't look very many soldiers, because you can overlook all of them. The best impression of masses is created by showing only the most of the objects and letting the watcher imagine that there are many more. Using this method, it get's more effective for the watcher and you have fewer problems with lag because of fewer units. Another problem: You move the camera nearly always at the same speed, that gets boring. Try to vary the swaying speed more and use fast cuts of closeups to create action. 3.5/5
Story:
Well, nothing interesting, but OK. What I did not understand, was this scene on the temple. Why did they suddenly fly up to its top?! :?: Another bad point is that the two duellants died very often but never died actually. This creates only confuse, not action or dramaticness. 2/5
Effects:
Not bad, only much too exagerrated. And in my opinion, they were too colored (blue lightnings, red lightnings, green lightnings...). 4/5
Sound/Music:
Sound was OK, but nothing special. Music fitted average, not very good. 3.5/5

All in all:
Terrain 4.5/5
Camera 3.5/5
Story 2/5
Effects 4/5
Sound 3.5/5
--------------
Total 3.7/5

Not bad, but in no way a Director's Choice in my opinion (that had to be 4.5 or higher). VG, you are much too nice!
The main problem you, 2-P, should think about in the future: Simple Multiplying does neither make things bigger nor better. Use less units and instead of multiplying, vary more. And think about a more interesting story, this one doesn't touch me at all! 8)

Very Great map, lovely music, awesome battle, great effects aswell! The size is worth it.
Though, i didnt like the story line...It doesnt seem right, a war all of a sudden? I love the rest though. The "Shockwave" part, the shockwave thing doesnt exactly, not sure if it was ment to do that or something.

Definetly 12/10, kept me on my seat.

It looked kool i guess. At the time where they started flying it went into overdrive lag. dude so much lag. I just had to turn it off. Secondly, that guy wanted the castle? lol who would want a castle with actually NOTHING IN IT. Where would all those soldiers live? THIRDLY y did the orc guy help defend the castle when he CAME FROM A CAGE. From what i saw his a prisoner and how the hell did he even get captured. If his that uber why not just smash your way out of the cage. Fourthly why didnt the king and that other king just fight each other.

2.5/5
