Medieval Buildings: The complete collection.

After months of development.. and lots of palm sweat.. It's now done.

I recommend using a 45 degree camera system to match that of Age of Empires or something. It would make the models look better. And, it would make WC3 look better. (The grid in WC3 faces the camera. In AoE, it faces a 45 degree angle.)

This pack contains 22 models. 20 of them are buildings. I'll explain the other two in a minute.

I made the birth and decay anims separate models to save filespace. It was either 1700kb or 4000kb...so yeah..

These sort of packs doesn't show up so often, especially when the buildings are so well detailed and accure. It makes you want to make an Age of Empires replica. :)

This pack is the best building pack for sure!


Edit: And my favorite is the Birth and Deathmesh buildings ;D

Awsome buildings that would be great for many maps Just one question, do you think it would be a good idea mto make like an overhaul of standard rces by makin such things like orc, undead , NE

Hmm..I'm really not sure to tell you the truth. I was planning on making a wall, bridge, and a few doodads. What else would you like to see in the pack? : )

A couple house variations would be nice to have. Or, if you want a challenge, a monastery would be sweet! (It's hard to make cities and towns when the modeling style and talent varies so much between buildings...)

But, really, this pack is just great. You must've put a ton of work into them.

Yeah, I must admit, it was a very big project. And, about the house: I may make more at some point, but for now, I'll probably focus on things like walls, doodads, etc. : )

About the mine, somehow, I knew this would come up.

I actually made it, as a gold mine. But, when you seen carts of gold repeatedly coming out of a mine? I was trying to achieve realism.

In reality, when you mine for gold, you acquire large amounts of rock. The little bit of gold is then sifted out later.

But well, now when I actually look further into it, the mining deposit in age of empires (2) is the same, so nvm :>

And yeah, I'd rather see those walls, and a gate instead :D
 
Pretty good, maybe add the generic "Doing somthing" effect to your work animations? because atm, all i can see with some decent work animations are the lumber mill, Plantation, and Mines also, for the castle, add some flags, or somthing, to make some moving parts in either of the animations, because nothing at all is happening in stand or stand - work, Finnaly, maybe add a horse to the "Stables", even a horse head sticking out of a hole in the wall would be cool, because there's not much that tells us "Hey look, its a stable!" its more like, "Hey look, its a, um, farm?", what else, um. Add some windows or a door to the top part of the "Wizardry" tower, because there's no point having a tower without windows, (in my opinion), Guard tower's one of my favorite models, i just like the feel, i think you should maybe add a flag to the top, (like the ones i want in the castle), For the church, bring the bell up a bit, and for the "Stand work" put some glow coming out of the windows.

This is my huge review of this model pack, lol, this is what i thought it needed for some clearer meanings and quality.

Quick addition. the church's, (and guard tower's one wall)'s normals for the belltower are screwed up.

and i'd like to see some gold or some minerals in the cart in the mines, it would make it look better, in my opinion.

I just checked the normals, they look fine. D: Am I missing something?

And, the gold thing was explained earlier.

Ok guys, bad news. I probably won't be finishing the wall for a while..

I've just been introduced to the wonderful world of UDK. (Hallelujah! :D ... for me anyway...)

So, for the past few days (or the little time in them that I have) and for many days to come, I'll be a bit preoccupied.. D;

I must say though...UDK is simply amazing. Screw the world editor. And, screw the sc2 editor.

/me goes off to UDK land...
