Mauler (Custom Texture Version)

I wasn't really happy whith the texture on my mauler model, so i decided to make a custom texture version for those of you who doesen't desperately lack map space. The texture is only 18kb, so it's no big deal, but i'm keeping the other model since it might be used as something else than a halo weapon.

You may edit the texture as much as you whish, just make sure you credit me for the model.

EDIT: Changed the glow to red since it looks more badass.
The glow is now billboarded.

This model does look incredibly good now. a 5/5 on just looks, BUT.... i think it could be a smaller filesize, you are currently using ingame textures WITH the custom one, meaning that you have separate goesets for each texture used, (2 ingame and the 1 custom), the extra geosets and materials increase the filesize.

Your custom texture, as it is, has EXTRA - EMPTY SPACE, if you just put a small metal and handle texture in this empty space, you can have the entire thing be 1 geoset and use 1 texture (the custom one) it will lower the filesize too.

you can keep the glow on the weapon tip separate of course, a 4/5, once you fix that little detail a definite 5/5, really really great work man

You're perfectly right on that, at first i had planned to add the blade in the texture, but i just went to lazy since the bear den texture suits well. I might change it in the future, though it might mean just copying that little detail from the original texture to my own.

Thanks a lot however, i'm glad you guys liked it. :)

Great model, but when I use it as an attachment, the light at the end of the barrel is a solid blue square. I'm guessing other people aren't getting this. Does anyone know what's making this happen?

I downloaded it myself and tried it - everything seems to be working properly.
Maybe it's your graphic settings on warcraft?
One thing i did notice though is that the glow was both shaded and fogged, which makes it much less notable. My own version is both unshaded and unfogged, should i update the model to have those properties?
It does make it look more like a light, but instead perhaps it gets too defined.
I dont know if too much attention should be drawn to that little damned red dot.

KepTiN make sure that you have the latest update for wc3. do you have the frozen throne expansion and are your codecs and graphics card/comp(in general) fairly up to date? any one of these things may create problems while trying to play wc3. Im not sure which is the cause, but double check to make sure that you are up to speed

Yeah, I'm on the latest version of TFT, and all drivers/codecs for my comp and GTX8800 are up to date. The light worked perfectly on the non-custom texture mauler, so maybe its an import problem?

As a last resort you could just trash the light;
set the lights texture to "none" in magos or remove it in vertex modify.
If you really dont have a clue on how to do any of that, i can do it and send it to you.

really, you could do that (because I've never used those programs before); that would be really nice :D, but I'm still confused as to why its happening in the first place.
