A capture the point, with a little twist.
This map is a team focused pvp capture the point like game, where you search and gather mana from randomly placed mana sources to fill your teams fountain as the first one.

Pick one of four roles to explore, collect, fight or support your team to victory!

Autor's Note


I started this map by the mini mapping contest by Waterknight at this time it was known as
"Water Gathering".
I enjoyed the concept of the gameplay to use mana as the points you have to find and collect as well as the idea of the roles,
so I decided to throw all the unessesary systems out, add new well established system allmosts ones made by Bribe
and give the map a complete overhaul.


It is a 2 teams game where you can decide if you want to fight the enemy team or just try to be better, faster, stronger and win without combat.
It should be best with 8 players plus so every role can be picked by both teams.
the roles are:

Treant of Forest

Treant of Wisdom

Treant of Wind

[Q]Snare The treant uses the surrounding plants to bind the target to the ground.

[W]Sphere Splits half of the current mana into an orb that can be picked up by other treants.

[E]Control Increases the maximum mana amount and the amount of transferred mana via flow.

[R]Quicken Increases attack and movement speed by a small percentage. The movement speed increases as the treant walks.

[F]Flow Transfers mana from enemies or toward allies.

[Q]Parasite Hurls a Parasite towards the direction, when it hits an enemy it nests in him slowing and dealing damage over time. When fully grown the parasite splits from the host and attacks every unit. If it hits an 'overgrow', it will cause an explosion.

[W]Rebark Breaks through the old bark, losing half of the maximum life to regrow over a short time to new strength.

[E]Impale The treant shoots spikes in a line in front of him, damaging and knocking enemies toward him.

[R]Bark Wraps the treant in hulls of bark, reducing incoming attacks for each layer. When too much damaged is taken a layer breaks and releases spirits damaging surrounding enemies.

[Q]Ivy Summons healing ivy that increases in the amount healed over time to an maximum. It can be picked up at any time by walking close to it.

[W]Overgrow Fills an area with plants that slows and damage enemies that stay inside.

[E]Poisen Poisons the target's mana so that every time the treant casts a spell, he will be damaged by a percentage of the ability cost. If cast on mana orbs it will damage by the amount of mana held inside.

[R]Thorns Grows thorns that jumps between random targets protecting or damaging the host. When the host is an ally, it will receive healing; if it is an enemy it will be damaged.

[Q]Sprint The treant becomes one with the forest, increasing his movement speed and turning him invisible to enemies.

[W]Pop Bean Create a plant that explodes on enemy contact. When the plant dies it shoots its seeds around, having a chance to create a new plant.

[E]Guard Summons a stationary guard hovering over the area, revealing it.

[R]Sensor Spots nearby mana sources by releasing a projectile in the direction of the closest one.

Avoid calling heroes like Treant (hero name) the Treant (unit name). Why is the Trueshot Aura icon looking ability on the wind treant without a description? Why does sensor need two icons? That means occupying two ability slots. Seems interesting...

-increase the width of the multiboard so that it will see clearly the text
-mana source buff tooltip is missing
-reduce some mana from the Mana Source. i think its either 20/30 don't put a mana regeneration then once the mana source is empty it will destroy because some players will stay there then harvest more mana
-the harvest mana is continue increasing the number when i stop harvesting mana
-i suggest that when you filled the mana in the fountain, the harvest mana should decrease then the filled mana will increase :psmile:

@Bribe The only reason it's not inside is there are no items to clean;) The systems just work great. I also use your way to create custom events for the multieboard system, just a nice way to trigger in GUI.

Seems interesting, however, not sure how much incursions will there be between the teams. At first I thought you needed to deplete the enemy's fountain (some sort of capture the flag experience). Well you could have some infiltrator type hero to sabotage the enemy fountain so they would get behind and that would put some emphasis on defense.

I don't see an issue with the first part, personally. Is there a reason for this? It seems lIke common practice.
EDIT: Whoops, didnt understand what deepstrasz meant. I agree with him

As for the infiltrator type hero, that'd be interesting. I'd love to see the author add that!

----> It looks like the hiding by setting the icon placement to y=-11 doesn't work for you.
Please let me know if you are on the latest version and/or you runing warcraft on mac os so I can fix this issue.

---->You can steal the mana from the enemies, included their fountain and I hope with the decreasement of the mana you get from the sources, this will add to more 'friction' between the teams. I started going slightly in this direction allready with the 'Treant of forest' and I'm looking forward to add more roles but I don't know what this role should be. Any suggestions are highly welcome and can be posted here.

Sorry for the long time being away...

1.2b is up to fix a major issue that could cause a desync, plus some small fixes and changes for the gameplay, check out the Changelog fo more informations.

I'm also started working on the new 'Infiltrator-esken' treant type and I'm excited to add the role to the game when it's done.
As always suggestions and feedback is more as welcome.
