Luger

Reactions: skeptis
My first successful model. Luger made from scratch, uses in-game textures. I made it for use on the "villager male" model. (Because I am not very experienced, I could only get this model to align correctly on the villager male's left hand attachment point)

Programs used:
-Oinkerwinkle's Vertex Modifier
-Warcraft III viewer
-War3ModelEditor
-Notepad

Many thanks to "Fabioz" for his attachment modeling tutorial.

Edit(6/30/08): I took a try of re-skinning the model, In my opinion this skin looks a bit better.

Edit(7/3/08): Fixed the direction that the attachment was facing, should be fine now.

Edit(7/8/08): Finally figured out why it was named "oinkercube", and addressed the problem.

Pyritie: You still need to find a better texture and unwrap it well.

HappyTauren: Tested in game. It looks good applied to villager model, and the bad texture doesn't affect the model overall in game (the detail wouldn't have been seen anyway).

I added a "pointing left" view to the screen shot. Should look more like a gun now, and less like a flag. I could try making a custom texture for it, but it seems like a little waste of time. Any texture I am to create may look halfway decent on the model, but definitely would not be quality enough to pass for an upload. Thanks for your input.

I don't think the shape of it looks too different from that of a real luger....

I can't really find another "in-game" skin that looks better on it, and as I stated before, I can't make my own texture. I have no experience of actually attaching a texture to a model either, this is the first model that I've finished.

Texture is aful. You need to make the handle straith not curved.
Anyway, have you ever been thinking to make MP44? Just a question, not a request.

Thanks debode, any help, advice, or techniques you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Velm, I've never really thought of making anything, this was my first model. I just needed something small, that would hopefully be easy to texture.

Re-skinned now.

How do I rename that, I don't recall naming anything "oinkercube"?

When I added the different skin, I didn't notice that I added it on the rough copy of the model. That was the reason for the attachment pointing the wrong way, I've fixed it now.
