Mapa dla Polaków!
Ta mapa została zrobiona nie biorąc pod uwagę wydarzeń z normalnej kampanii "Warcraft 3 Region Of Chaos" i "Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne" mapę zrobiłem gdy mi się nudziło wciągnęło mnie to i zrobię następne mapy powiązane z tą. Mapa zrobiona dla Polaków czyli polskie napisy.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

Według wspomnianych zasad, wszystkie mapy publikowane na tej stronie muszą być w języku angielskim lub posiadać angielską wersję. To samo tyczy się opisu mapy, który także powinien być po angielsku. Jest tak dlatego, że zdecydowana większość użytkowników tej strony posługuje się językiem angielskim i nie zna języka polskiego, stąd też treści zamieszczone w tym drugim języku będą niezrozumiałe dla osób korzystających z tej strony. Innymi słowy, jeżeli chcesz zamieścić mapę wyłącznie dla polskich graczy, ta strona nie jest odpowiednim do tego miejscem.

Map Submission Rules

According to said rules, all maps published on the site have to be in English or include an English version. The same is true for maps' descriptions, they should also be written in English. It's because the vast majority of people on this site speak English and don't know Polish, hence content in the latter will not be understandable for people using this site. In other words, if you want to publish the map that's exclusively for Polish players, this site is not an appropriate place to do so.

As for my review - this time only in English, because as I've mentioned, this is an English speaking site:

1. Terrain is a mixed bag:
- you've tried to use a good variety of doodads and terrain tiles, which is a plus
- while some spots look fairly detailed and nice, others are quite empty and basic
- there's A LOT of unused space filled with trees, which sucks

2. Gameplay - it's a basic macro map, nothing special. Some concerns:

- you can buy extra heroes from the altar - I'm not sure whether that was intended or not, but the general consensus is that this should not be possible in "campaign maps" as you are supposed to make use of the heroes that you are given

- there is something seriously wrong with the overall gameplay progression - enemies attack very heavily at the start, which might seem a bit intimidating and confusing, especially considering that it's supposed to be the very beginning of the very first map, but if you survive the first couple of waves, the attacks just stop, turning the map to a rather boring and uneventful race to the finish line, where you quickly realize that you've already won and destroying enemy bases is just a formality;

- quests and extra encounters feel unrewarding - considering that you don't get attacked past the first couple of waves that come in early and are intense enough that you're unable to attack the orcs, once you get around to destroying the southern orc base they have already stopped attacking you, so your reward is basically another gold mine, which you don't really need, because your starting mine has enough gold to last you the entire map; and since you don't have access to anything except the most basic units and upgrades, which are cheap, and you don't have to reproduce your units, because the attacks stop, you don't really need to boost your income; obviously the same is true for the gold mine that you get for defeating the ogre lord

- what baffled me the most is that the only really useful item that you got - freaking Claws of Attack +15, came from some random ogre hidden behind the trees... I guess it could be counted as a "secret", but considering that the ogre is hidden behind the trees that you are most likely going to be harvesting anyway, because they're next to your lumber mill or you can just break the rocks and get to him that way, it really doesn't feel right; first of all - giving an extremely powerful item like CoA +15 in the first map is strange and secondly, having it be a reward from a very easy to find and defeat creep while the rest of the map basically contains no relevant rewards - it's just a bad design

3. Triggering and other:

- I haven't noticed any bugs, which is a plus, but... let's be real, the map is very simple, so there's not a lot of room for things to break; still - a plus is a plus

- my complaints are: cinematics are not skippable, there's no ending cinematic, tech that you can't have access to (2nd altar hero, 2nd and 3rd tier items in the shop) are visible (i.e. not disabled), no hero experience caps - if this is supposed to be a campaign, having your hero go up to level 5 is a bit strange

- dialogues are kinda meh... the map doesn't really have any story - all we learn is that Uther wants to destroy the orcs that threaten the humans and that there is an orc camp nearby; that's just context - where's the actual plot for this mission? Where's setting up characters and events for future maps? Where's the general story arc? Dialogue lines are also pretty uninspired - all we have is a Captain reporting to Uther that he saw an enemy base and that they need to destroy it, plus one orc telling Uther to leave them alone. That's it.

- finally, the map doesn't contain any custom assets or modified object editor data

Overall - the best word to describe this map is: basic. It has basic triggering, fairly basic terraining (though as I've said - some parts look good) and basic gameplay, albeit with some serious design flaws. The only part where I can't say it's basic is the story - it just doesn't exist.

I'm not going to rate this map as in my opinion it is just a starting point - and as far as "one of my first maps ever" go, this one isn't really that bad. In fact, it's one of the better ones I've seen in a while, because some effort clearly went into making it.

And if the author is reading this - I encourage you to not take what I wrote above as "hating" you or your work, but as feedback on how to improve. I wouldn't have spend all the time I've needed to write this all down if I didn't think there was some potential here - there is. You just have keep going and keep learning, and sooner or later you will make something cool :)

And if you need help or suggestions on how to fix the issues I've outlined above, do not hesitate to ask.
