Wow! I hope for your sake this isn't the final version of your map because this thing is bugged-up pretty badly. It actually went the opposite direction of improvement from your previous versions. Version 10.5 (or LoaP: Aftermath as it was aptly called) was something that this map isn't: Good. I'm beginning to think that version wasn't created by you, even though it has "Gloomfrost" written as the author. A word of advice: you actually should take credit for that version over this crappy version before it's too late.

Don't get me wrong, I love playing "LoaP: Resident Evil" and you made this specific genre of LoaPs what it is today. However, to post a map that's worse than a previous post isn't saying much. You failed to address most of the bugs that were addressed in v10.5!

Here are just a very few major ones of the many present:
- The school bug exploit is still active
- Druggy Boy & Old Man aren't Heroes
• They don't revive
• They can't get jobs
- Blue can still get jobs
- Blue's Mirror Image exploit is still active
- The -seal and -unseal exploits are still active
- Weather causes lag
- Cinematic causes major lag due to massive memory leaks
- Nuking in Evac's base causes nuke message & music, but no detonation

Here are a few of the things that are odd compared to other better/more recent versions:
- No Hero for SWAT
- The Town (Brown) still is in the scorescreen
- There is no 12th player slot available
- There's a Drug Harvester in Umbrella's base
- Annoying upkeep changes
- Nuke doesn't cause a radiation effect or green fog tint
- Main buildings aren't invulnerable

As you can see, the map still needs a major amount of work which makes this far from a final. Also, if you didn't create v10.5, you should have used it as a base for your version. There was an unprotected version on the site not too long ago. Any map-maker knows to use the most recent version of a map when editing. It's a shame that you don't go by this principle, which in the end, just makes a bigger mess for you and the people who play your maps. Next time, be a bit more careful...

Ok, first of all, 10.5 was NOT one of my official versions, nor did I do anything in that map...second of all, all your bugs listed have a counter, they are purposely there for the following reasons...:

-Druggy Boy and old man ARENT SUPPOSED TO BE HEROES!
In real life, druggies and old men cannot get jobs or do anything really... thats also the reason they are so powerful, if you pay attention, it even gives you the warning that they CAN'T revive once you pick them. They are made as fun heroes to go kill random creeps or for EVAC...

-Blue is supposed to be able to get jobs, his base and job is too small and boring for him to really do anything, so jobs for him are there to amuse him, he still cant become some of the big jobs like Umbrella Helper or Gang...

-Mirror image of blue is supposed to be like that, I dont know what you mean by it being an Exploit...

-Seal and unseal, I admit are a trusted command because of the day/time changes. -seal turns on hospital weapon systems after a period of time to make it more fair, other than that, just dont play with Noob umbrella's..

-Lmao, the weather doesnt cause lagg, get a new computer...

-Neither does the cutscene, once again, I suggest getting a new computer..

-That nuke bug and school, I know about them minorly, but they rarely happen and its not a big deal, escpecially with school, as for the nuke, well, congratulations, youve found an bug in my final version! Not like it has any affect, since most people dont care about what happens after everything dies either way... 8) :arrow: :arrow: :arrow:

-As for all those "Odd changes", I can explain them too....

-Swat heroes were added and I still agree with my decision, even though it wasnt mine, I had MANY, MANNNY people tell me to put that in..|

-The Town showing up in scorescreen and 12th player slot has absolutely no meaning as for noone really cares about that, and noone ever reads the scorescreen!

-The Drug harvester was a little joke made in the very early versions, and it has some history behind it, but I'm not going to explain it, since it would take forever, all that guy is there for is to bring back memories of people who have played the very early LoaP Rez-Evil's..

-Upkeep changes shouldnt happen often, and theres nothing really I can do about it, nor would I want to..

-Lol, the nuke thing is ridicolous, I'm not gonna add something like that for a ONE TIME USE Unit, although its a good idea, and I didnt think of it before...

-Most HQ's are vunerble to make the game fair, thers no way to kill Drug or Mafia otherwise...

Overall I regret nothing in my final, apparantly you didnt realise as much bugs as I did, but even those arent big, and once again, 10.5 is a different version, and it doesnt follow the movie whatsoever...

If anyone ever meets 'me' in a game, /whois 'me' because I got a few imposters such as gioomfrost with a capital i running around joining games taking credit for my work, if you ever play with him, or 'me', ask them to get the 'admin raccoon', if it is really me, I will know what you are talking about and get it...otherwise, if it is an imposter, he will just panick and leave :p.

Why is this the last map?

I think you can fix the known bugs, fix the balance(!) and put in some new creative ideas!

It is the final map of LoaP Res-Evil because of many reasons...
I won't explain them in closest detail, but here they are..:
-The map is getting wayy too big and hard to open/save/load with the editor and too long to edit.
-Even for me, the creator, it is getting confusing for alot of the units, having so much custom things in the object editor is a little difficult to work with...
-Certain triggers in the map are, or will fight each other if I make any more..(eg: Overlapping triggers such as pausing a paused unit, or having multiple unit-altering triggers or actions all happening on 1 thing at a time.)
-At the time of release, I pretty much hit a brick wall, I literally ran out of ideas, and things people were suggesting weren't good enough.
-The map is now sold to 2 people, one of them will continue the 'Res-Evil Series'. The maps won't be mine, whatever he releases will not have been made by me, you will have to wisper him: 504-INFERNO for any further questions to what he is doing :s.
-Part of what I just mentioned did have to do with me actually wanting to sell the map and get credit to what I've accomplished with that map, being about 2 years old overall(The LoaP Res-Evil Series).
-The map is getting way too complicated and nearly impossible to just pick up and play, it is over-detailed.
-I was going to stop playing Warcraft III overall anyway, enough is enough of 1 game :p, I play FPS's and RPG's so I have better noobs to own :p

Having said that, I realise now there ARE bugs and inbalances *cough* S.T.A.R.S *cough*, but I can't do anything about it, even if I wanted to release a new map, it would be difficult to get it out there, since everyone should know that if this is my final, then there will be no future map expected from me.

Also, my LoaP shall never die, I see it hosted here and there, and it's still fun to play, assuming you have people who know HOW to play it..

addicted from this game at the start, i really dont care about the so-called "bugs" as people say, they dont bother me, still think this is fun

Hey... just so you all know.. there will be a newer version of this being released due to demand and me coming back to WC3 :)
Couple of things:
#1. I am now known as InflatableOrc, because Gloomfrost was frozen due to my 3-year absence to WC3.
#2. join our clan, Clan Hive, leave a message with the bot, and you may just get the benefit of helping test the betas of the newer version: LoaP Res-Evil: Project Rebirth.
#3. The beta tests will begin next week (june21st, 2008), but we are not expecting to release the newer version until maybe a month or so.

Keep checking back here and our clan for any further details if you like the map,
And yes, all the bugs/exploits have been fixed, and A LOT of cool stuff have been added. Trust me, look for it :)

#1 Lots and lots of spelling errors.
#2 Sometimes the hospital security just flicks itself on, even if you havent told it to or typed the -seal command
#3 Blowing the nuke up in evacs base does jack
#4 The Old Man And Druggy Boy may not be heroes but at least give them a revive
#5 If the Twisted Assassin hero buys from the secret shop, there is a 50% chance he will vanish, if hosted this alot, and it happens alot
#6 The S.T.A.R.S. units (The ones with the Konstrukt models) projectiles come from behind them, you can see the bullets about an inch behind their back when they fire, also when they attack gates or not auto-target objects (example: barricades) no sound is made
#7 Rarely the EVACs -nuke command will not work
#8 Sometimes theres a bug which causes the zombies to spawn regardless of UMB typing -secret spread or unleashing the virus
#9 The Gloomfrost hero is a bit rigged
#10 The Twisted Assassin heroes dagger is an unfair advantage
#11 The Umbrella helper may not even give they money they earn to you, most of the time they just use it on theirselves
#12 If a player destroyers the UMBs Hospital Staff maker thing, and kills their researchers, the games ruined (Ive done this a few times myself)
#13 You really need to use more than the Konstrukt light marine models on the STARS use the FINAL and HEAVY ones too.

Id gladly beta test this for you.

Alright.. add gioomfrost (note the i(my account was frozen long ago when I left after releasing this)) and InflatableOrc (also me), both at USEast, also you can add Nerull8883, he's my counterpart in the new release of this. We come on now and then, it would be great having someone who knows about map editing to help beta test, we've already had 2, and are currently working on 2 major bugs: Making the new spawned zombies attack people's gates, and making the heroine or crystal meth item crash the game.

Also, just to respond back to you:
#1, Yes, I'm finding them myself here and there, some of them are from a LONG time ago, some of them are just grammar errors, both I'm trying to iron out.. Too bad Nerull can't spell that well either, so hopefully we don't get that many new ones in Project Rebirth.
#2. Haven't ever heard or seen that before, but either way, the system is redone.
#3. Fixed.
#4. That's SUCH a good point omg lol I gotta do that right now.. I was just working on them too.... thanks.
#5. That's not the case with him vanishing. that's is the ONLY bug I haven't found yet. I've seen it myself and heard of it before, but that's not the case.. So far, I've managed to redo his hero a little with new classifications, and hopefully we won't be seeing that anytime soon.
#6. Yes, I know about both of those. Both are noted, but because of the way they work with the triggers, I don't want to add 10 new triggers just to make them make a sound with destructibles. Also, the inch behind their back thing is a good point. I haven't found out how to fix that yet.
#7. the system is redone now, so it doesn't matter
#8. Okay that's so weird.. never seen or heard of that before... you know people DO type stuff in Observer chat sometimes...
#9. He's been a little nerfed with the air thing, and more places have air blockers now, as well, zombies dont have heavy armour, so the damage bonus from his magic attacks should be less now.
#10. That dagger's blink has been removed.
#11. err.. that's not how the system works. When they get money on the circle, part of the money goes automatically to Umbrella Corp. :)
#12. That's a good point, but the system is going to be redone probably. Either way, it's their fault.. the hospital is a very secure place. Pathing blockers are added now as well so you can't see it from the outside.
#13. I have adding KB to my maps lol.. I've spent the last week cleaning the map of old variables, regions, sounds, units, and even redone a couple of kilobytes. As much as I agree with you, that's not something that will be implemented in the near future, maybe right before release.
Thanks for the tips. :) I noted 2 new ones, especially the druggy and old man reviving....

Hey Lord, it's still on pause production,

LoaP Res-Evil: Project Rebirth WILL be done eventually, it's an epic map and I look forward to releasing it, but Nerull (my helper buddy) has the map, and he's being lazy with it, I'll update this map with Project Rebirth when it comes out in maybe a few months or so.. I'm busy with Werewolf Transylvania right now anyway.

Alrighty then glad to hear it ^_^ Btw, i think that map thatcha have at the front of the thread is slightly... weirded out. It came out as a pic of a Ghost in the Shell character. =/ Unless I'm mistaken, which i doubt but i will check and edit this if i get the chance. Myeah. Glad to see your still around.
