HeroNagaSeaWitch.blp

Epic Lady Vash'j skin, based greatly on the concepts from WoW.
Updapte: Made lips darker, fixed her crown and the shading on her eyes, added a lil smile also.

quite better, approved

Overall: this skin, is so nice, I may end up having to do a custom Naga Sea Witch model just for this skin, just because... the warcraft 3 model does it no justice.

pros:
this skin is really, really nice. that fin is nice, the green in it is nice, the shapes in the fin is elegant and nice, the skin texture in her humanoid regions is soft, pale, fishy, and feminine all in one which is sometimes lost in naga female skins due to scaly or creepy effects.

the face is nice, her red eyes are a strange but welcome variation compared to most nagas yellow eyes.

her stomach looks just great, and so do the tails sides. the gold in general looks well just simply great.

cons:

the eyes color being red isn't a bad thing, and neither is the gems being red, the problem is both are the same color and I feel its somehow not right. if the gems were red and the eyes blue, or any variation of color really other then both of them being the same, it would look better, the reasoning behind this is her 2 eyes are horizontal to each other, and the 2 gems are both vertical of each other, and while this symmetry for the eyes and gems are neither bad, somehow they are too similar, both in size color and orientation.

a solution could be to perhaps merge the 2 gems together into 1, or to shrink one gem and expand the other, or to change their color to complement her skin tone and not compliment her eyes. or to change her eye color. many alterations are acceptable to fix this issue. and this is mostly just my preference.

the bow feels a bit plain, any way to try to make a gold bow over a dark blueish weird color bow? the concept art you show cased here shows her with a big elegant flamboyantly decorated bow, which while impossible to for you to texture, the bow texture you made could be worked on a bit imo. I am not so sure what to suggest here, other then more gold color shapes and symbols.

the snakes seem oddly blurry, the original eyes weren't as bad about their alignment, may want to look into that.

over all this skins pretty sweet. I vote it 8/10 one of the better naga skins iv ever seen and liked alot.

Well I wouldnt have made the crown as that one (covering the whole forehead) if it wasnt that the light in the portrait makes the forehead become almost gray with any color, so blue would look pale and strange. I see the problem about the gems and I can fix that, the main problem maybe the crown covering just too much of the forehead, ill make it more stylish. In the overall I didnt want to change her serpents that much nor did I want them to have too much light because they should contrast with her pale body. The bow can be added in another model or as an attachment, still there are spaces on the skin wich are in blank, if you do a custom model I can make some things on those spaces that may help you to fullfill a good model, another thing is that I highly appreciate low filesize models and skins (just a comment).

I see the issue with the bow now, the bow uses the same texture segment as her snakes. guess that means my comments on the bow and snakes are irrelevant.

any color gems would work really, I had no idea the portrait model was the issue though.

I actually already started the model, mostly because I was bored, I'll let you look at it sometime soon if you're around today.

the models main amount of work is going into the snakes, im adding more of them and having them be built with more detail.

Also add two more arms, She has 6 arms in the lore and in the pic. And her tail, I HATE THAT TAIL, it is horrible, look at the wrap, at how it is builded, Blizzard could have made her a better tail.

Hi guys, I have a question. When I open the mpq browser (in war3 model editor), there are two models, HeroNagaSeaWitch.mdx and LadyVashj.mdx. Apparently Lady Vashj in the campaign uses the latter, the neutral hero uses the former. Now if I want to use the skin only on LadyVashj.mdx, how do I set the skin path? As Darkfang said at the beginning, the skin is applied to both model; is there any way to just skin Lady Vashj?
