Ladik's MPQ Editor v 1.6.0.102 EN

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
This tool originates from here

A very new and superb easy to use MPQ editor. In my opinion better than WinMPQ in some ways.

In my opinion this is way better than winmpq, and only so few Kilobytes.

And Mpq is the format for blizzard's data files, even maps are mpq files, and with a mpq editor you can see what they got, and modiffy them to even make mods and stuff

Mpq is an archive, just like .rar or .zip. Mpq is a format made by Blizzard Entertainment.

This editor also works with the game Diablo II, most mpq files can be opened, but only one file fails.

Filename : d2exp.mpq
Size : 244.294 Mb
Files in archive : 9888

Crashes after loading 6000 files.

Sollution:
Use internal listfile instead of autodetect filetypes.
Internal listfile is also much faster than autodetect.

I was wondering are the campaigns that come with the game located in the mpq files of the WarCraft III folder?

And when I open a MPQ all i see is File00000001231.blp and a list of similar things.

Ladik's mpq editor is AWESOME, its way better than WinMPQ! the only catch is that its somewhat more advanced, so id stick with winmpq if u cant get it to work. this uses a nice technique to let u view ALL THE FILES IN THE MPQ without a filelist, listing them as, for example, as Yu_Yevon's File00000001231.blp. it also ALWAYS knows the extension of filexxxxxx. if u apply the proper filelist, the filexxxxxxxxxx.ext will appear as they normally do. it also creates a Temp folder called 'Work' where it extracts what u choose.

if u understoof all that, this is way better than winmpq, but if not.. stick with winmpq :wink:

Can someone please explain to me how to extract files?? Here is what I do, I open the mpq editor, click open, and go to my wc3 folder, and click on the war3 mpq. I am prompted to select a list file for war3.mpq, but there is no choice, so I click on autodetect and hit use internal list file. I am now able to see all the files in the mpq, however I am unable to extract anything, when I try to I get this "Failed to extract file "File name here" (error code 21). Can someone please tell me how to extract fileS?

Hi, all

I have found that you have some problems with the MPQ Editor. Thanks to one of you for notifying me through E-mail. My MPQ Editor is no longer maintained, because I don't have time to work on it, but I would like to have it bugless. Because I don't watch the W3 and SC forums, if you'll have some problems, send me a mail to zezula_at_volny_dot_cz (you know how to wite it correctly, spammers hopefully not) or contact me by ICQ at 153292074.

First, some people had problems with error code 5 when extracting a file. Take the version from my webpage (www.zezula.net/mpq.html), I have made some changes and it should work now. If you will have something else which don't work, let me know.

Well, when I tried to edit anything in WinMPQ nothing ever changed when I opened it agin.

When I open it here, it changes, but never changes the map when I play it in WC.

What I'm doing right now is finding the file that has all of the trigger data, editing it with notepad, and saving it. This seems like it should work but it doesn't. I also found another file that had like the name of the map, description etc. and tried to edit that and the result was the same.

What am I doing wrong?

I got error -21 and figured it out. So a hint to you all. You're extracting to a unavailable folder.

Explain:
The default folder is set to D:\Program Files\MPQEditor\Work\ but if you don't have a writeble D:\ drive (such as a D: hard disk) then you will recive the -21 error.

Fix:
This should be able to be fixed just be changeing the extractation folder. You can change it in the MPQEditor.ini file.

put this in the respected line
ExtractPath=C:\Program Files\MPQEditor\Work

Or you can just change it via:

Tools -> Options

and set the "Work Directory".

Just thought I'd give a detailed description just in case.

p.s. developers should change default path and make better errorhandling giving messages or listing the numbers values.

I'm using this on WoW MPQ files, works good. *thumbs up*
