Cool model and origional idea. But there are two things right now with it. Two of the tentacles don't move in the Stand - 1 animation. Looks really weird. And the material. The one with the TC, change the filter on the hydra layer to blens instead of transparent. Will make it look much better. And there is this triangle of just pure TC in front of the eyes. Doesn't look very good. Fix these.

@Amigurumi: Yeah! I was abit lazy with the mouth, and the mouth could use some better textures showing teeth and the like.

@Emm -A-: Agree with you but the problem is there are many interpretations of a kraken. By googling kraken you would get 6-7 different kraken designs on the first page alone, and my design was inspired by the Maquette Kraken

The real giant Kalmar look probably somehow like this... The biggest known are around 20 m long and other unknown creatures would probably look similar.
But your right, its only an interpretation, so your model is good. I just thought, you wanted to copy one of the real known kraken.

I know that I can't satisfy all of your respective tastes, especially questions about the design, so I've included a reference pic on my first post.

I see that so many guys didn't like the hydra texture But my first choice colour for it is dark green. Crab skin would perhaps work better for another kind of kraken.

To Misha and Silverfish423, I agree that it looked stretched :/ But in the game I thought it didn't look so bad nor so hydra-ish. Try it for a bit and let me know if it still looked stretched in game.

@TDB: I've just googled the AoM kraken, doesn't it look just like a regular kraken, albeit with slightly larger head? I prefer my kraken designs to include a body, not just tentacle+head

If you want a good idea of how does the Kraken look,you should play "Legendary" the PC game.

I must say... you pulled off quite a tricky model.

i could say that the umm.. legs? of the model could be little shorter, but it is neverteless good.

What you said is idiotic. Dragons don't exist but people have a general idea of what a dragon looks like. There's a general idea of what a kraken looks like, and that's what this modeller followed. A stick man, however, is not a kraken..

How about a version using the Faceless/Unbroken skin instead of Hydra? The Kraken always has been purple, pink, or blue as far as I've seen it interpretated. The bluish-green just feels wrong lol

Yeah, I've already said it isn't based on the conventional giant squid-like design. I'm merely making an artist's expression with this model. Hope that helps.
