Knight Lordaeron

Third model. The style of the model adheres to the classic Warcraft 3. This is how I represent the knights of the Kingdom of Lordaeron.

Attention
Please do not forget to change the name of the portrait, as the name of the portrait must be identical to the model name + _Portrait at the end. For example: model "Footman Lordaeron_Medium_L" then his portrait should be such "Footman Lordaeron_Medium_L_Portrait". If there is at least one difference from the model name portrait will not work.

The symbol "L" is displayed correctly from any angle ( For the cinematic )

P.S. I made this update so that the models with Lordaeron symbols used in the videos were displayed correctly and were always visible regardless of the camera.
Also in the future I will be guided by the same principle for new models.

Good model edits with big care of detail. Work in-game and perform well. Approved.
Great model. It adds a unique addition to the various Knight models on the workshop. While not far removed from the original concept, it has good changes. The replacement of lance with the shield is a good touch and makes the knight seem complete with the original attack animations. (Never understood why the original knight had a lance but no lance attack animation). The addition of the helm allows the knight to seem more competent and prepared when compared to the flashy paladin-ish original.

In my opinion, the only downsides I see is the stiffness of the shield during attack animations and the oddness of the legs. However, those are minor as those really can’t be helped with the way the original models were made.

If I may, I would like to give a suggestion and idea. A suggestion I would add a skin with the stylized L or blue twin-headed eagle of Lordaeron to the face of the shield or the front of armor (as you had done to the Captain) for when multiple factions/nations that use similar color schemes or symbols (such as Stormwinds Lion symbol and blue color or the scarlet crusade’s stylized L symbol and white color) are used in maps and campaign.

My idea I would like to provide is to create either a separate model or add alternate animations. These would have the knight armed with a lance in the place of the sword and have the shield replaced with a Lordaeron banner with the addition of lance attack animations. ( Most medieval armies had two types of Calvary the heavy spear/lance shock Calvary used to smash formations and the sword/mace wielding Calvary used for prolonged melee engagements.)

Over I like the direction and look of the model I give 5/5. Keep up the Great work, Lordaeron deserves some love.

Good model, and different to other knights.

But the red clothes of the head looks a bit weird, maybe make it plate armour or copy the golden pattern u have in the butt of the horse.
Also the model is a bit too heavy, it should be around 250kb (other knights in the hive that i use in my map has around that file size), yours is the double, try to reduce it.

At the expense of the size, I'll think about how to do it with the horse's armor too.

Good model but you can lessen down the TC parts a bit. :)
I will not redo this model anymore, this version suits me.

When I saw the third shield model I got excited...but why can't I ever seam to find a knight with the defend ability? You could even make the horse put his head down like a mad bull. #need
At this stage, I am engaged in changing the appearance of the standard models of the Alliance. When I finish what I started then I’ll do the revision of different variations of animations, weapons, etc.

Every time i see this knight, one single sentence comes to my mind: "For Lordaeron!" XD.

In case u want to add new units and not just human roster (as u did with the captain) u may want to add an archer/crossbowman/spearman too. Or even a militia, there are no good militias in the hive.

Why does the Knight of Lordaeron with sigil in the shield and defend anims weights 50% more filesize than the normal one? Is it due to the anims or to the new shoulder plate added to it?

50% more filesize just for 3 anims sounds really much more than it should be for me, im curious.

The animation is linear. But because of the greater detail (compared to the old version) from the old version remained untouched: the breastplate and the knight's head) file size has clearly increased.

Apart from the new Shoulderplate i just appreciate changes in the horse having more armour and the shield had been rotated. But those are just... Flavour? I maen, i wouldnt say that is greater detail or more quality, just different stuff.

PD: I ask so much just cause my map is really huge and i take care of every single Kb i add to it so it doesnt crash on btnet, so adding 50% filesize just for different horse and shoulder armour hurts me quite a lot xD. I was wondering if it was due to some inner code for animations or what. Thanks for answering :)

The only way out is to remove the model (the horse, the knight), the skeleton of which is attached to the animations "Death"; "Decay Bone"; "Decay Flesh". P.S. The old horse has undergone retexturing, so weigh as much as the new one 8)

Oh, just changed the name of the folders and files.
Oh cool. I will add some of them soon to my map to replace older models, your units give a great feeling of "unity and uniqueness" that will fit awesome for one of my factions. Do u have any aprox idea of when spearman may be ready?

So the other knight has a defend animation and this one just ignore incoming arrows while charging in the frontline. Well I use both as a 2nd tier and 3rd tier though.

Hello, does anyone know why over time when this unit dies it no longer produces its typical sound?
