Kindergarten TD! v.3.0

I'm very happy to show all of you my Kindergarten TD!

For people who want to know something about this map before playing it, there's a small FAQ here:

What did you change?

This TD bases on the old Wintermaul maps but there's nearly nothing i didn't change:
°All towers (123) and races (10) etc.
°I remade the terrain and did heavy changes to the landscape.
°All special levels (11) were made by me.
°All map specials (e.g. builder teleport) were made by me.
°I improved the unit pathing and added a stuck-teleport.
°I added an XP system based on save/load codes.

What do i have to do?

°The sense of the map is to defend the kinna treehouse from the adults who want to know all your 40 secrets (lives).
°It's your mission to choose one of 10 unique races and beat the adults that try to reach the treehouse.
°Save your amount of XP and enable many features for you to play!

Who helped you to create this map?

°Basically this map is made by me, Dinah.
°Ap0calypse helped me translating the map.
°Some people of this map forum (and some friends of mine) who helped me improving the map and finding bugs.

What makes this map unique and a must have?

°Better looking terrain (Green flower style).
°A bank (or better comic) system with variable interest.
°Many special rounds like Invulnerable or Healer.
°Fixed unit stuck.
°2 Languages (German/English).
°Sounds.
°Funny descriptions of every tower.
°An XP system.
°A Money Devide Mode (for better Teamplay).

Is this map protected?

Yes this map is protected and can't be opened in WE.

What is the sense of the XP system?

The XP system should motivate skilled players to play Kindergarten TD multiple times to earn advanced revards offering new strategies.

Which features can be enabled with higher XP amounts?

°100 XP -> Pro Races
°200 XP -> Instant Builder-Teleport
°300 XP -> Random Tower
°400 XP -> Book of Capers

Kiga now requires Warcraft 1.24 version.
Added new Game Mode "Perfection" (only 1 Secret; 125% XP).

Fixed bug making the game stuck when Host leaves before Game options are choosen.
Fixed Whirlwind ability from slowing mechanically levels.
Fixed Whirlwind ability from Cyclone Bonus rounds.
Fixed "Stuffed Alpine Bear"-Upgrade and "Detective Conan" from not slowing as shown in tooltip.
Fixed rare bug showing up the wrong level in defeat dialog.
Fixed "-nameall" command.
Fixed wrong sell values on upgraded towers.
Fixed some memory leaks.
It's not possible to attack adults at greys spawn from yellow position anymore.
Sell ability now also can sell car workshop items.
"-sell"-command now will sell items, too.
When amount of adults is below 10% the remaining mobs will be marked on the minimap.
Bonus Rounds now have a 10% chance to spawn as red ones additionally offering an extra secret.
Library Autocast can now be set to "only Bonus".
Minor Changes.
Minor Bugfixes.

well, I can speak German, but not everyone... if you can't translate it, ask someone else to do it...

well... this is a normal maul, I haven't seen anything new...
+ Better looking terrain
+ Units don't get stuck every 2 seconds.
- not much original races (Anime, Lego, ...)
- build-time of is way too long: when the game started I still had 80g...
- Mauls need some variation, looking at how your towers kill units just isn't interesting enough.
- Gang Clubhouse-race can build 1 tower, that tower doesn't even have upgrades

4/10, I'm sorry... if you translate it, invent NEW races/towers, fix the clubhouse-race and add a special event this map will be a lot better...

sry but this map is still a beta version and the gang was not ready. i don't know why you think that the races aren't new becouse i have never seen races like that
and i have new things like invisible or boss

i have made a few towers more for the gang but they are all meeles ... im working on it

i think you have played the map not very long but thank you for that comment becouse it helps me to make the map better

Well... Anime-race is used in a lot of mauls I've seen... I've also seen the Lego-race before and that with Mega Mindy (forgot the name)
and erm... I've played the map for 9 levels... if something happens at lvl 10, it takes way too long for something to happen, I'm sorry :)

Invisible and Boss aren't really NEW a lot of Mauls have bosses and invis levels, but, you can add something new to them (boss with special ability/triggered effect, invent something)
yeah, maybe I should've waited a little before I gave it 4/10... It'll probably be way better when it isn't beta anymore.

and thanks for realizing I was trying to help :)
some people respond aggressive when I say something is missing in their map.

im still working on a bank system . well i know its also invented by other mappers but i want to make it a bit different

Bank-System is really nice :D it seperates ordinary maps from the better ones.
> You can do something with the difiiculties (they move faster with higher difficulties / more HP / more Armor / have abilities / ...)
> Sometimes the 75% sell is really annoying... i accidentally built at the wrong spot and when I couldn't make the building anymore... I always add 100% Sell for the first 30 seconds, after that it becomes a 75% sell-ability (for accidents like mine :p)

I mean... a trigger that commands all units to move to the next waypoint every 10 seconds
You'll have to use some variables as regions and stuff... but you'll figure it out :)

You don't have to use my ideas, those are just examples of what you can do.

(german is not my native language and neither is english, but I can speak both pretty well :D)
I will not 'steal' your map, I'll send it back to you the moment I translated it...

ehm ok i already startet to translate it (i made a dialog buttom witch ask you if you want to have an german or an english builder). the lego race is a bit translated. download this version and follow my way of translation (i have copyed the towers in the orc folder to get more order) DON'T overwrite the german towers becouse i don't want to have two kindergarten td versions

at first the translation of the towers is enouth

ps. i added a tower (kindergarten) witch costs wood

I don't need really long I think, but I was wondering whether the commands are going to stay german or english.
Also the Difficulty-Dialog, Tips, abilities and all those things.
I'm just going to translate the towers at the moment ^^ think about it a little and post what you think is the best option.

btw: My German is pretty good, but what does "Schlauvie-Schlumpf" and "Schutzgelderpresser" mean? :p
I even tried looking it up, but I haven't found anything in english...

ehm i would make the translation of the tips like that: the english players were added to an english group and you could write english tips to the players in that group

and the difficulty can you make the same way

ps. schlauvie schlumpf is a figure of a cartoon ''Die Schlümpfe'' and schlauvie is the most inteligent 'schlumpf'

translate it your way ;)

and a schutzgelderpresser... .... its difficult to explain ... is someone who wants to get money from shop-owners to give them savety

I'll translate "schutzgelderpresser" as "extortioner" (ger: "Erpresser") I hope it's about the same :p
and I'll think a little about Schlauvie :p

not ALL towers :p I've done most of them in the vacation, but it goes really slow now...
I'll translate the builders and I hope it will be finished in the weekend (depends on what I've got to do then :s)
otherwise I'll send you the incomplete map, and you can translate the rest (which will be 10 towers max)

Yep... I think It is done, but I wanted to re-check everything first ^^
I translated: units / abilities / triggers / buffs / Loading Screen

Remarks:
- There were 4 towers I just couldn't translate :s
- If you want the Loading Screen to be german, There is a trigger with the german text.
- I replaced the Leaderboard with a Multiboard (You can also undo this)
- I haven't translated the tips... but they aren't shown to non-german players atm, I hope it doesn't really matter.
- Added quests (only English)

the library ist a bit weak in my opinion because soetimes the cast time is tooo long and gandalf is too expensive

hmmm ive played a lot with library and yes i guess it could need a bit more balancing
but its a pro race and some towers (e.g. the gandalf) need to be casted manually in order to hit as many enemys as possible

do u mean the grey or the white gandalf?

Very good, I can see you've put some effort in it.
It's good to see you didn't quit editing this map, it reallypaid off...

+ Nice race-descriptions (descriptions are very important in the design of the map)
I really love the splash-description, that's something that even great mauls/TD's are missing... I'll use it in my TD as well if I may ^^
+ The new race is very nice with the abilities
+ A lot of new (original) creep modes
+ New nice features
- Still some german descriptions in english mode
- Some spelling mistakes, not bad ones, but
- Item descriptions of the "Car Workshop" race aren't good (which is probably my fault, because I forgot them :s)

In general a very nice map, it needs a little improvement, but you'll get there!
If I can help in any way, I would do it with pleasure

ehm if you want to, you could say what exactly i can improve at the English translation (grammar and spelling mistakes).

what exactly isn't good at the car workshop descriptions?

not every item from the workshop is translated, some are only partially translated and the descriptions are better this way:

Damage: 50
Cooldown: 0.8
DPS: 62.5
Range: 800
Special: hits 2 adults / Air Only

This is just an example...
- for the DPS, you first calculate how many times the item attacks per second (1 / cooldown) and multiply that with the damage (1.25 * 50 = 62.5).
- You can change the color of course, that won't change anything...
- You may add this to the tower descriptions as well, but you don't have to...


- The Stuffed Alpine Bear upgrade says "Die eisbälle tieper gefriere", that should be "freeze the snowballs even further" or something like that...
- Gandalf the grey:
"The tale "LOTR" is loved by many bookfriend", that should be "BookfriendS"
"Is one of the main persons who moving and smoking around the hole day" should be "Is one of the main characters who moves and smokes around whole day"
- Bookshelf:
"It's live is probably longer", should be "it's liFe is probably longer"


There are more minor spelling mistakes / Typo's like that ("Ecery" instead of "Every" and things like that)

EDIT: Found another bug.

Some of the "Gieriger Spielzeugverkaufer" (Invulnerable level) stay invulnerable for ever.
I attacked some of the units in blue's area and when they reached grey, they still were invulnerable.

hi it's me again :D erm iv'e played the map now .... c.a. 20 times and now i can say i can play the map BUT most of the players won't survive the nightelf round and also with the workshop (a buggy with 2, 30G rockets in the inventory) can't stop the nightelfs alone wich is very angry if you are grey...

yes the car workshop's attacks are spell damage and the night elf level 1. only gets 90% of the damage made by spells and is 2. is fast

maybe i can increase the damage a bit ... thx

i'll improve the car workshop weapon description when i have some time ...
i'm going to add damage descriptions to every tower but its very much work (about 90 towers x2)

the bug with lvl 6 is a very tricky bug. the units are getting invulnerable und stay invulnerable sometimes when a library tower attacks them (it's a known bug)

Edit: Ok ive improved the car workshop tooltips a bit ;) (looks realy great)

ps. i made lvl 3 weaker

k but...(hier können alle deutsch warum reden wir dan nicht deutsch?)... i always played on very aesy and i just survived till lvl 13... how can you beat the game on very hard if the easiest mode is hard as well?

yesterday i played with some friends in battlenet and i was grey with libray and we reached lvl 27 and we played with the the jüngling (i dunno how exactly it's called in english) difficulty (air; fast)

hmm i guess i'll add some extra bonuses to the higher difficulties...

Hi Dinah

First of all I want to congratulate you on this great map. A few days ago some friends and I beat "Geldteilen TD" (not hosted here) on hard so we were looking for a new map. Now we try to beat your map :)
In version .2.2c I had problems with the "Autowerkstatt" saying inventary full all the time after I built two towers. My worker was empty but the shop seems to have an additionall inventory which was full. ATM I cannot check wether this bug is fixed in the recent version. Can you have a look at this?

P.s.: I am German, too. So, if you don't understand everything PM me ;)

Edit: Isn't there any scaling according to the number of players?
Edit2: The bug seems to be fixed.

i don't know what exactly you mean with the car workshop inventory bug, because it's non-triggered ...
perhaps you didn't noticed that the fist tower "moped" has only 2 inventory slots?! (the builder has 3)

ps. i reached level 31 (fist bonus level) only one time with one friend but it was version 1.6 or something ...
last saturday i lost my last secret in level 27 (air and fast :/ )

Hi

Yes, I think I got something wrong. It works now. Yesterday we reached level 27, too :cool: Next time, we will have even more air defence...

Btw, you didn't answer my question: Is there any scaling? E.g. less creeps / weaker creeps if there are fewer players?

oh sry i forgot to answer you ;)

yes when there are fewer players the amount of creeps will decrease (even when someone leaves)
but i added it only in order to make the mobs not stuck

i noticed that some people ratet this map realy bad (2/5 or 3/5) and realy don't like this development ...

i just want everybody rating this map give a reason for his (positive or negative) rating

Ah, nice to hear that there is scaling - I didn't even try to count the creeps...

I cannot see any reason why some should give a bad rating. ATM I cannot vote because of the 10 day limit - but a soon as I am able to vote I'll give 5/5, of course!

Hi

This time we lost one of our players due to a unstable wifi connection :angry:
That's why our maze got several holes and we were out of secrets within a few seconds...
Can you implement a functions which distributes all towers and money among the remaining players? It's already implemented in "Geldteilen TD" if you want to have a look.

P.s.: W'll give give it another try end of next week.

ehm ... i already thought about that.

i think the best solution is that the host can decide whether the towers of a leaver will be sold or devided under the other players.

I want to thank you all for playing my map and giving such a constructive criticism :thumbs_up:
i noticed that lvl 27 has middle armor so it only gets only 75% damage by piercing and magic (eg. Naruto's) attacks so i decided to set the armor to light (140% by piercing; 125% by magic). I also reduced the life of these lvl 27 "beast's" by 350.

I have also removed Templarion's rating (1 - Unacceptable) for not providing an explanation.

I was one of Lord Amaclons companions yesterday. First of all I'd like to say that I, too, like your map very much.

After yesterdays LAN-party I tried the map in single player using money cheats just to check how much air defense is actually needed. All I can say is: 12 Narutos per site is not enough to beat lvl 27! All Air-Waves before needed 4 Narutos maximum. How tough are these beasts in lvl 27?!?:razz:
At the very end of their way I had build 7 (!!!) Kindergärten and several (about two dozen) "2fache Supersayajins" and Hypnos and the creeps nearly survived that. All other Waves didn't even reach the second turn of the labyrinth.

What I want to say with this is: Please check the balancing of the last air-wave. these creeps are way to strong.

This is not necessary. I did some single-player-money-cheat research myself and found a strategy to survive level 27. But I don't want to spoil the party, so I won't post it here. :razz:

P.s.: Finally, I figured this mysterious car workshop "bug" out: I simply didn't know that it is possible to set the item output to a tower directly.
