JakiraSilkwood.BLP

* You need to use two paths to get both unit and portrait working.
Textures\Ranger.blp - unit
units\NightElf\Archer\Ranger.blp - portrait

[Update - minor fixes]
* Covered torso entirely in cloth.
* Made cape team-coloured.
* Lowered helmet.
* Altered feathers on the arrow.

This is Jakira Silkwood the Human Archer. Feedback highly appreciated!
(Special thanks to Joe-black-5 for name-suggestion in chat.)

You may modify this resource in any way you see fit. I appreciate link-backs, though.

Mmmmm,lovely work here mate the hair is cool the fact that he got two colours makes she looks way better,i like how you changue her clothes and that tribal design the only thing i think would be cool to changue its the bow and the cape,
maybe a tribal design using red colours on cape will be great 2.
The clothes,and armour fits nice with the theme of a archer She look's viking/norse to me Good job here sir

There's TC on the.. headdress-thing. I might redo the cape with focus on getting some more TC though.

The exposed section of the chest looks off, the belly-button is to high and the torso in general doens't look right. This is largely due to how the wrap is distorted on the chest, but as long as you're skinning models you have no control over the UVs with you might as well get the skin to wrap in the right place (I've probably spent a good four hours getting the mid-section of my archer skins to look right anyways, royal pain in the ass). You might want to consider covering her chest with armor, as with the general northern warrior look this skin has it would benefit from. Anyways, with how the model is shaped and how the skin wraps her belly-button should be right at the waistline of her pants.

The cape looks a bit unfinished, the sides shouldn't have material flowing off the edge. Considering it's pretty much the only part of the archer that has team color, and that their isn't much to do with it to begin with, you might as well add team color to it. I'd recommend just painting your cape design and then copying it to the alpha channels layer so it appears in variant shades of team color (and then covering the original design with black so it shows up correctly, preferably on another file or layer so you can access it if you screw up the alpha channels).

On a largely inconsequential aesthetics note, you might want to lower the helmet to cover some of the forehead rather than placing it right on the hairline. It sort of gives a hairless look to the archer as is, though I've seen enough people wear caps at that level. I just find hoods, helmets, and hair that hang down over the forehead to be more aesthetically pleasing.

Finally, you might want to change the back half of the arrow for the sake of changing it and the fact it shows up three times in the quiver. I like that you changed the vast majority of this skin from the original, and I like that the only portions of the skin that bare resemblance to the original are the hairline, facial structure, and waistline. Also, even if having the black triangles in the hair was unintentional it still looks pretty cool :cool:

First of all, thanks.

Yeah but that's barely visible. I suggest adding some TC on the middle of the bow if it's possible.
I'll try, but I don't think it's possible.

oh btw, maybe add some border to the TC? it looks so sudden and doesnt blend well with the headress(on the third picture of your preview)
It's not possible. If I add a border to it, it will show up around the bowstring. It's the same part of the wrap. Believe me, I've struggled for hours before, trying to get that piece to look neat.

Great face man.
Thanks, that means a lot coming from you. :)

Sweet review, man! Yeah, I'll cover up the torso, I guess. It didn't sit right with me neither, but I wanted to break the massive clad of grey.

I don't think it's possible to edit the alpha-channel alone in GIMP2 (correct me if I am wrong), so I'll have to redo it with various opacities of pitch black, but I'll do that. Might try to cover it up with some tribal design.

I'll see about the arrow and helmet as well.

So cool, but nerding out on the bow xD the grain of the wood should folow the curve since most are carved out and then steamed into shape, otherwise it would snap along the grain on a full-draw.
