Arena Battles avaiable 3vs3 or 1vs1 and better team vs Boss. Award amount is: heroes levels dependent *and* winners quantity dependent.
Balance System: makes for example 2vs4 to 3vs3 with player's vote. Not active if AI is on.
Defenders Status. is for team who lost both 3-towers formation. This team will be awarded if survive 7min.
Attack Tree of Life to get control over 2 watcher wards *and* get control over 'Book of Summoning Pedestal' in your base.
AI can complete combo items, cast spells, calculate thread, focus low hp enemy, kill hostile creeps for items.
Hostile creeps drop items. Killed creep will respawn with: more hp, more chance to drop an item, and after longer time. Kraken drops unique items.

Commands:
Top on list human player can choose game mode when game starts.
AI Mode: Turn ON or OFF AI for unused slots

Hero pick mode:
1. Random: random hero for all players, (hero has Circlet of Nobility item). Players can -repick once at cost of losing Circlet of Nobility.
2. All Pick: you can pick a hero from 30 aviable heroes for your side. Cannot -repick in this mode. Only one hero-type can be on map. Player can type -random to get random hero (with Circlet of Nobility) from 30 aviable heroes for your side.
3. All pick no limits: you can pick any hero from 60 aviable. The same hero can be picked multiple times. Cannot -repick in this mode. Player can type -random to get random hero (with Circlet of Nobility) from 30 aviable heroes for his side.

Wetlands and this are my favourite HvsA maps. ZiBitheWand3r3r just knows how to do this. Also good job Miki2953 for the epic terrain.

Make the quest system clearer, I didn't know you needed an item until I was looking through the shops.

Played through the game twice and I still have no idea what the Moon Key does, using it just gets a "you can't use this now" message.

The Horde gets an Alliance Tank as part of the level 30 army.

Boss fight... how exactly are you supposed to beat it?

1st: its multiplayer from very begining, implement ai costs a lot of work, sorry but i dont plan to do that, simple orders wont change much since item-build and skills are very importand on arena.

2nd: heroes gain exp from killing enemy army and other heroes. Hostile creeps drops items but dont give expirience. Thats intentional.

3rd: thank you for suggestion, added description to make it clear.

4th: Moon Key was bugged, thanks for finding. It happend cause i rewrite almost whole code from gui to jass, it is fixed, ill upload new version tommorow after i come back from work
Moon key will teleport your hero to secred area where u have to set angle of reflectors for award

5th yeah, tank alliance and tank horde uses the same model

As an experiment I wrote function that allows to manipulate unit's damage (up to +8100 dmg). The plan is to implement it to some units like hero's summons, and maybe also hostile? What you think?
For tests i add it to Lumber Mill's animals.
They already have their hit point depend on hero hp (trained unit has for example 80% hero hp) and now unit's damage will be equal to 20% unit's hp.
So if hero grows his animals also grows (hp and dmg)

It is just not funny to have summon as ulti and after 1h of game enemy can kill it with 3 hits:D right? Thats why i plan to implement this dependance i wrote above,

I mean the unit is literally called Alliance Tank, in blue text and everything.

As for the computer heroes, making them attack would make the game slightly more challenging, if only by letting the enemy army be upgraded as well (not to mention avoiding sitting through two minutes of the heroes doing nothing in duels). I get that it's not meant to be single player, but it's a lot easier to test maps this way (speaking of which, you should have the default setting be all pick no matter which side you're on since the computer is already randomized).

The event music overlaps over the ingame music instead of replacing it.

What's with the whole empty right side of the map?

Speaking of lumber mill units, they can't be re-bought when killed, you should fix/warn about that. Giving them stats dependent on the hero sounds good though.

Naga Vault building doesn't do anything.

Soldier waves occasionally help you attack creeps, maybe it's an acquisition range thing.

Can't find the Internal Intelligence item.

Added simple order to arena for Single Player mode for heroes to attack each other.

you right with music.. i entirely forgot to fade out build-in music, now should be better.

right side of the map. Its empty after I remade terrain to smaller.

lumber mill units. Added description as you suggested to make it more clear. One animal (for example: Misha) for one player per all game.

Well thats true, I made big change to prevent it. Hostile creeps and Alliance/Horde army will treat each other as Neutral.

Can't find the Internal Intelligence item. Use Universal Luxury Recipe.
You need 2 x Robe of the Magi and Univ Lux Recipe. This recipe is universal cause it can be used to make diffrent items:

2 x Belt Of Giant Strength = internall str
2 x Bloodfeather's Heart = internall agi
2 x Robe of the Magi = internall int
2 x Battle Standard = hornet helmet
Frost Sword + Magic Blade + Orb (frost or lightning or slow) = killer sword
Battle Helmet + Skull Shield + Ring = full protection armor

Ah, I see. I hadn't made the connection between the temple and Sapphiron showing up, that works just fine (though you should put it in the description).

All right, let's see the new version...

Reflector area doesn't seem to work, the beam never goes past the first reflector no matter the angle.

Duels work, but I still feel having the computer ordered to attack the bases would make for a better game. And maybe have an option to set the time limit between duels.

You should consider having the game warn you when the Kraken respawns.

You have to set to the right angle of all reflectors which reflect laser. On images they are not set to right angles, i havent diffrent pics only those from old ashenvale web site;]

I will confider adding orders to computers, but its heavy work..

Oh no, I realize adding spells and such takes time, that's why I said having them attack-move (like the duels) is enough. Every game I've played so far was a stalemate in the center until my hero went up to 10, and from there I couldn't lose.

Though I suppose you could add extra stat bonuses to AI heroes, or maybe add one feature at a time (like returning to base, items...) but really, having them fight is enough for me.


Reflectors: What you should do is have the beam bounce off whenever the angle is right, if the deflectors aren't aligned properly you won't know which one is wrong.

Hi, today started working on few function for AI-like. It will be few simple orders: teleport to lane/or move, attack coordinates, teleporting back to base for restore life, and few common cobine items like belt of giant strength etc.
I wont work on AI spell casting, its much to complicated. Only for about 10% of all spells will be used by computer player (these are based on build-in spells that computer normally will cast)

If map gains some more popularity with this "Ai" it will be good reward for me.
Hope I finish tommorow an update.

1 teleport from base to lane (if failed hero walk)
2 teleport back to base for heal
3 in base they try to complete combo items (diffent for str/agi/int heroes)
4 if human player in opposite team done some upgrades to army/buildings they try to make the same upgrades but wont initiate upgrades.
5 they cast spells (not all, 10-15% all spells) those triggered spells wont be casted

combo item build for strength based heroes:
1 belt of giant strength
2 belt of giant strength
3 Inner strength
4 frost sword
5 battle standard

combo item build for agility based heroes:
1 bloodfeathers heart
2 magic blade
3 frost sword
4 Killer red
5 battle standard

combo item build for intelligence based heroes:
1 robe of the magi
2 battle standard
3 frost sword
4 battle standard

Updated credits in map's description (sorry for doing this so late)
Moreover: all trained/summoned/created units has been changed: Their damage is dynamically modified now and is counted at moment they created/trained/summoned.
The base can be hero str/agi/int, hero hp/max hp.
So not only summon's hp grows with caster, but now also damage.

spells are not in spell section except 2 imported: knockback and psycho hook
i can share if you want, (but they're in jass now). Some are quit simple, but there are also cool sophisticated ones like DuplicateHero(Voljin), Nibiru(Guldan's) etc

AI will be updated soon, need few days, maybe a week. AI will cast all spells, I also improve item combining and hero's behavior on lane. Well, I understood AI is a must these days..:)

Could you add an option to have duels and battles take place by switching out dead teammates (and one to set how often they happen)? I think I've had maybe one game where there was more than one team battle/duel because there's always the one AI who gets killed, preventing the battle.

Chronos has no ultimate.

It will change when i finish improved AI. Computer heroes dies to easy now.
Arena timer system is sophisticated. I think it works ok:
If annouced hero dies, system will try to make the same type of battle again after 20sec (if player left the game, battle will be reduced to 3v3 or 1v1). It will be repeated until battle starts. The reason announce exists is to give player possibility to prepare. By switching dead teammates it wont make sense to make any annoucement at all. It will look like: propare for battle 3v3, and noone knows who will fight, fighting heroes could be picked randomly at battle start- but thats totally diffrent style.

About the AI: Could you make one of them stand on the portal circles when a human does so (once it activates)?
yes, but it is related how opposite team will react? Right response - focus on summoning hero - needs to add additional Ai State. Let me say I can easy add a command to type in game, that force computer hero to go to the circle. But no reaction from enemies and no support from allied computer heroes, ok?
It will be a little like cheat, cause your team after succefull summoning will get big advantage, but that can be for single player to see what it does.

Work on AI tooks more time that I thought, but in 2-3 days i hope to finish it.
Now its rewrited code for AI in states: InBase / Lane / Creeping / Arena
To do: spell modification so AI will cast all spells.

AI works in single player and on Bnet and LAn also if slots are coputers. If game detects computer players Ai is auto activated (at cost of turning off BalanceSystem).

2 click 'All pick -no limits' when dialog appears
3 choose one from 60 aviable heroes you want(from alliance or horde)

Just played the map. This is my first map review, so forgive me if I say something wrong:



Horde vs Alliance Ashenvale 1.10

Gameplay:

The gameplay is good and enjoyable. I find some unique ideas here such as creeps level up when one of the heroes reaches a certain level, the villagers' quests, unique heroes and nice custom spells. I enjoyed whacking enemies and dueling with the AI as well.

The AI is good, it makes the game more interesting. The AI can be improved, just put more efforts to the AI. The "pick computer heroes by numbers" command are perplex and I can't remember all the number for heroes at once.

If I play singleplayer, I must be always in the Alliance team and in the Red player slot to choose modes. I wish to play as Horde but I can't pick modes if I do so. Try implement a system detecting who's the Host of the game, or a voting system (only activate the voting system if Host let everyone to vote).

Items are good, but all of them are expensive, especially early in the game. Maybe try add some cheap items for early games?

Oh, and I have a question: If a nominated player for a duel is dead, can the system nominate another player of the same team?



Terrain and Graphics:

Nothing too special, but can be improved. Try add more appealing doodads to each area and use them efficiently.


Suggestions:

  • Add more items, heroes and spells!
  • Add more modes!
  • Add more variety of creeps spawned to Alliance and Horde sides, for example Marines and Space Fel Orcs.
  • Add more variety of tanks! Siege Engines are too generic and boring (and they cannot hurt any units other than structures!). There are some nice-looking tank models by General Frank and other good modelers in the Hive.
  • Improve the terrain and environment.
  • Replace the current "pick-computer-heroes-by-using-numbers" system with something simpler like "-pa/-pe" like in DotA.
  • Implement a system to detect who's the Host, or make an option for Host to let everyone vote.

1) Hmm. You know there's things like 8 MB map size bypass? Or custom seperate MPQs? That way the map size problem can be solved.
2) I never pay too much attention about the list of items, but as far as I know, only cheap item is the child quest item...
3) Okay, but the tanks are more fragile than it looks (Too Low HP). My hero can easily barbeque the tanks. Maybe buff the tanks' HP or change its model to something like catapults?
4) You may consider removing all professional announcements or make them available only to the current heroes.

5) About the '-pa/-pe' command, how it works:
If you type -pa, you get to pick your computer allies' heroes in taverns as if you're picking your own hero.
-pe is same as -pa, except it works for the enemy AIs.
While in -pa/-pe mode, you may cancel the mode anytime by a cancel command (I forgot what's the cancel command).

The -pa/-pe mode is better than the current 'pick-computer-player's-heroes-by-numbers'. It makes everything easier.

P.S. Oh, another question, can you add a test command, please? I need it for fun and to discover secrets of this map. The test command also helps you test your map. It's a win-win.

It is very good idea.
I will add code for command -comp for this solution, this one command for pick for all computer players (allied and enemy). Wil not work for enemy computers if in enemy team is human player. I think its fair.

Moreover top human player will choose game modes at begining. Not red player like was before.

I will update Ashenvale after implementing lhf's DDS and after tests. Map will be smaller (-3MB) and also some quests will be removed (almost never used by players in real games)
edit:
I have to stay with Weep's damage detection system.

Changes:
*abandoned loading screen, and some music, compresed sounds and now map size drop from 8Mb to 4Mb
*removed villagers quest - very rarery used by players in real games
*recalculated ultimates damage: now most ulti deal static damage plus damage based on target max life (for exp damage=500 + 20%target max life)
*Arena battles: now players are not picked randomly, but those players who play arena less times will be picked first
*clean a code a little bit

and for those of us who played already ashenvale:
Im looking for new ultimate skill for Sylvanas. She share ulti skill with Dryad, but in the future i want to give Sylvanas new original spell. If you have ideas , let me know

today I updated map description: added 2 tabs: Alliance Heroes & Horde Heroes
It is list of all heroes in game + list of each hero's skills also with minimum and maximum values for given skill.
There are 12 levels for normal skills, and 2 levels for ultimate spells.
Ultis are white-colored. Values with () refer to 2nd ulti level.
Hope players will find these list usefull.

today I updated map description: added 2 tabs: Alliance Heroes & Horde Heroes
It is list of all heroes in game + list of each hero's skills also with minimum and maximum values for given skill.
There are 12 levels for normal skills, and 2 levels for ultimate spells.
Ultis are white-colored. Values with () refer to 2nd ulti level.
Hope players will find these list usefull.

You have made the best AI i have ever seen in Warcraft, i also tried to make a triggered AI in my map. But making AIs is obviously not my strength. Your terrain is very impressive, all is made so beautiful and has many details. Your map design is very inspiring, i will integrate some ideas into my map. I will upload the new version soon.

Spell target point may be not the same as point where your hero finishes sliding because of pathing. The *last* 0,03sec loop checks pathing. So you may see hero slides over rocks, cliffs, but landing point must be walkable. If you click unwalkable point hero cannot finish slide there, because he may stuck there /undestructible trees, cliffs, etc/. So I can't agree with you it is bug.

I think you should work more on balance ...more enhanced spells...better terrain and greater items. However i am going to test it more...much more and rate it after, honestly. :)
