High Elf Cavalry

A knight of the ancient noldorian lineage.
Complete with footprints, blood emitters, and all the standard attachment points.

Red parts are team colored. Textures, mesh and animations were all made from scratch.
Note that all elf models share the same body texture. If you use them all, texture size will be much smaller than if they were to be used individually.

Basically, it is not a great issue, so I will approve this.

hey, do you know where is the azwraith model like in dota? i dont know the tags to find it, by the way, your models are great :))

This is cool, but do you think you could put some armor on the horse, for a heavy cavalry version? I think it would probably look better.

Yes,i thought about it, but i wanted the white/gold/brown/black contrast that it has with the white horse. If i ever come along to make Rhûn cavalry, then you will see some golden cataphracts!

all 4 models you made are great, its just a shame they dont really mix with standard wc3 models..

as suggested above i do think an armored horse would fit better in the wc3 theme.

I don't see how the horse being armored would make it fit more with the wc3 theme, haha. The archmage has an unarmored horse, for instance. What makes it differ is the extreme contrast and saturation of the wc3 textures.

You could give it a bit of white steel, if you intend to preserve the contrast. Doesn't have to be heavy armor, either; you could just give the horse armor on its neck, nose, and chest.

That's a sweet horseman just as the others, I like that there is no armor on the horse, I feel it would not fit the feeling of the lightweight soldier who is riding it...

Rhun eh? Sweet, I can tell were you got the cataphract idea from (pretty sure it's not canon) ;) Are they going to have pike units too? Or have you not decided yet?

Well, as of rhûn i have not made much plans, i just thought it was something that might be fun doing.. I do think i read somewhere in the books that the horses would be armored like cataphracts, if not at least the picture came naturally to me as they wore scale mail for armorjust like the persian cataphracts did. ;)

Ya i do agree though that as Easterlings I do think they represent the more "Persian" and less "Arabic" parts of middle earth and that cataphracts would make sense for such a people. I think it would be really cool to see that in Warcraft, as there aren't any cataphract models I know of.

and its like that with all the highelf models, but not your sindar models so that is weird lol

Is it the same after you restart the editor?
It is possible that Blizzard added a texture called HighElf.blp outside of the texture folder with reforged, or something. One possible solution is to convert the file to MDL, open it in a text editor and change the texture file path to be something like "HighElfSoldier.blp", convert it back to MDX, and then change the texture name in the editor import too.
