OBS: YOu must play this map in Reforged mode in order for the map to work and function properly.

If you wish to download this map and make a version which can work with classic/sd on, feel free to do so because i am at this point in life too lazy to go back and edit that. I will however keep in mind that people prefer playing in classic format, but i will make maps continuesly for Reforged because i personally prefer the graphics overhaul.


WELCOME! Oh heroes of the olde world, welcome to darkness! Traps! Monsters! Treasures! And more!
Come and play this amazing dungeon crawler!.

Features:

OBS!: The intended experience is to play with hide terrain on. Due to reforged, i cannot enforce this ruleset sadly, so i ask you humbly to look away from the map icon and play fair.
BTW STORM SPELL WORKS NOW, SORRY FOR THE INCONVINIENCE!

These are the first 18 maps i made, and also, what sets this dungeon crawler apart from other dungeon crawlers?

So basicly, you have a limited number mana for casting spells and limited health, tho it is possible to get mana and health potions, or healing spells (and even revive potions hidden some places!) you can never naturally regain mana or health.


  • No natural mana or health regenaration,
    so potions and healing spells are the only way to regain health
  • Everything has low hp and mana! Death can come quickly to your enemies! Or you...
  • Every spell costs 1 mana! Each spell is valued for the same power! Some effects are more permanant and some are temporary, but quite powerful.


So this sets it apart from alot of other dungeon crawlers.
Inspiration:

This is a map based loosly on the Heroquest boardgame, tho i have taken the liberty of adding some custom features and changed some objectives slightly, since it has roots in a board game, and
Warcraft 3 is an RTS game afterall.

Thank you ever so much for the play testings by Leown#2570/Ben 9 by the way! With his help i balanced the map out with his help.

  • Removed player ownership of wizard in the start of the map.

  • The heroes now drop their items on death, this should fix the sitiuation of gathering cheese and suddenly it is lost into oblivion, making the maps 100% completeable! Unless i spot another bug, which i might

  • You now repick heroes after each chapter, making it easier to strat around the maps!
  • Sir Ragnar cannot be triggered and "rescued" through the wall anymore.
  • Gem of truesight removed from the random drop list.
  • Shamblers now reward almost no gold, making them just anoying nusianses! Also, they got more health regen, and speed, and are generally just not nice.
Version 1.6:
Added:
  • Camera movements have been added! uuuuh!
  • You now get to pick 3 new heroes after each chapter, even if you have one hero left alive!
  • Sir Ragnar trigger sound added
  • Courage now gives 10 armor and not 5
  • Mistwalk now does 20 bonus damage, like a melee fireball!
  • Last boss given more health, he is now a beefier boy!
  • If you dont have the key for certain door, the map will tell you!

Version 1.6:

  • Hi, i realized that the Storm wind spell didn't work, but it is now fixed, so no worries people!

  • I just saw that the Fimir warriors in map 1-9 were actually Fimir Chiefs, fixed that now lol.

It is not an Arena type map. It's an RPG.

Adapted this to 1.31 with Map Adapter

  1. Why does the Wizard have so many spells and the other none? Well the Dwarf hast True Sight.
  2. I think it might be a patch error but when I went here there was a shop arrow over one hero but not shop heroquest.png Have you tested this on Classic/SD?
  3. Maybe a patch adaption error but found no prisoner here: 2.png Also cleared the whole level/zone.
It's a fun little concept but there's not that much feeling of progression. Enemies are repetitive. It could be nice to random generate them.
There are only three heroes and the content is generally Warcraft III material (spells, items etc.). Only one hero actually has any abilities. For raplayability value, there should more heroes to choose from.
It could also work in multiplayer.

I suggest you keep these in one thread: Heroquest 10 - 18v2 since they're pretty much copies.

  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.

Hallo! Thank you for clearing a few things for me!

I have answers to these questions my friend.


  1. Why does the Wizard have so many spells and the other none? Well the Dwarf hast True Sight.

    I can see that you are playing it in Warcraft 3 Classic version, and that is probably why you find so many bugs.

    TLDR: Because you are playing in Classic you cannot see the elf class which has 1 of the 4 spell lores available to him, chosen before the game begins.

    First off, this map is meant to be played in Reforged, i will inform people immidietly about this for due to some reason some units dont show up in the map when playing Classic, i have tested this map many times in Reforged and it seems that Reforged works perfectly with no bugs of what you speak off.
    This may be why the elf isnt visible because he is using a newer model. I probably wont fix it for Classic ever but in the case i have spare time in this life for it, i might.

    Yes, this is definetly because you are playing classic and it isnt made for being played in Classic/SD mode.

    The prisoner (Which is a doggy) Doesent appear because of Classic.

    I can see that all of your issiues stem from you playing it in Classic, i will yep inform people immidiatly
