Heroes of War & Wizardry

This bundle is marked as high quality. It exceeds standards and is highly desirable.
Heroes of War & Wizardry ( HoWW ) is based on the great turn based strategy game Heroes of Might & Magic III, but is played in real-time.
It features all of the Factions from HoMM III albeit with some changes.

The terrain in the map is static but all units, structures and items are generated at random locations each game.

The map supports up to 8 players and can be played as free for all or in teams, and has a simple single player mode as well.

Works with WC3 version 1.26 or later.

Feedback and bug reports can be posted in the comments or via PM.

edit: Played in singleplayer, works fine (got beat up in a war with some rogue elve! lol).

If people would just be more open to exploration... finding it hard to get players (EU battle net).

Also somehow battles play out too fast, even facing Tier IV units is easy with enough ranged spam.

Neutral creature packs are indeed easy to beat. We found in playtesting that it would take too long for the PVP action to begin if you were stuck fighting neutrals. Perhaps the neutral packs should be stronger in single player though...

Nice! I really enjoy the replayability of this map, tons of different heroes, towns, artifact drops and spells. Even the trees and resource buildings are randomly generated and located each game.

Pretty neat concept, but it does have a few issues I think. I dunno to what extent AI is supported in this game, but it's a bit wonky. Me and a friend had a go at your map with only us two and some AI. The first time around we had an AI ally, which had no base and tried to capture our bases over and over. It was both hilarious and frustrating, so we recreated and went without an ally. This time around, it was more fun but at the near end of the map we couldn't find any AI to fight with. Just some things to note. Otherwise pretty solid concept.

It is a very distinctive map, which is extremely restored from everything, but because of my poor English, I have to spend a lot of time slowly translating the map, bad English blind

Thanks! Yes the AI is really basic and there is currently no support for having AI as allies. They will just behave really weird, as you noted. When playing as a team against AI you should win when the last Rogue Hero is defeated, I'll take a look at this to make sure the win condition works properly.

  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

this is a great map. just played 2 rounds of rogue mode. however, first round the game crashed (i dont remember what caused it) and 2nd the game wouldnt let me revive my hero after enough time passed, the button just remained greyed out forever. playing on 1.31
playing some more, it seems if you don't pick a skill on level up and level up again you only get to pick 1 skill instead of 2.
crashed again. now i remember, both time the crash happened when an enemy attacked my town and my hero was dead.
