HD Peasant

Hi everyone! I thought, that I have to upload something here. :)

There are lots of HD models and skins for Warcraft III now. But, there is no any authenic HQ model or skin for Peasant, so I decided to create one.

Made in Mdlvis and War3 Model Editor (Magos).

You can replace default peasant model in your map or campaign, just import my model at following paths:

Units\Human\Peasant\Peasant.mdx
Units\Human\Peasant\Peasant_Portrait.mdx

Bloodelf and Highelf versions edited by @Diego Delgado

Update 03.29.15: The model has been optimized.
Update 04.01.15: Updated geometry, UV mapping, fixed all the animations.
Update 05.17.15: Remodelled gold sack and lumber logs.

21:44, 9th Apr 2015 MiniMage: Guess it might be useful for campaigns where closeups are common. Significant effort appears to have been added to not just paste the portrait on the unzoomed version, many other aspects has been improved.

Thanks. And why it is not approveable? Misha's HD Naga Myrmidon has been approved, ...but his got a reputation here. Whatever... Anyway, people who need such higher quality stuff now have some time to download it. :D

Well.. I just say Unsure :O
But I like it Anyway

Anyway, Here are Some changes that I noticed (Basicly Reason to Not Reject this)

1. The Pickaxe
2. The Head
3. the Hand is More Detailed
4. Smoother Hand (Well, The Muscle are gone :( )
5. New Boots
6. Better Wrap

Also, im not sure about this, but i feel the Body mesh Is Scratch Made :O

Very nice indeed, perhaps you could make the "Militia" form too? And if you could lower the size as it seems a bit too much at the moment, You could also add "custom" animations to improve the overall look and perhaps raise the rating.

Yes, I know that the model has quite big size, but it's an HD model, so less file size will mean lower quality. And sorry, there will be no custom anims.

U should make a HD Millitia too

hm.. the inner base of his hands seems to have holes, you should look into it.. his boots definitely need a lill better design, since it's not skin that separates them and pants, but the inside of the boot being folded over, with pants tucked in (imo). Also his boots should be less floppy and more form-fitting, and also wrapped better. Pick(s) looks interesting but could use a few polys shaved off if possible, and the ends of the pick handle(s) could use having something like that lighter part, on the ends of logs he's carrying. His gold sack is still basic but it feels alright.. you should try to tweak his eyelids to not end up abruptly on the sides, but that would be all mesh-wise

his chest doesn't seem to be rigged that nicely, as it dos some small, but funky deform on the death anim.. :xxd: so you should fix that. The whole peasant is visible and floating above his bones in 'decay bone' anim, so that should be hidden.. Something is also funky with his pick and leg in stand 3, (pick handle clipping and leg distorting when he taps the foot). That's all for anims and all for now :p

That's a lot of work to do, you know.

1) I know about the holes in his hands and I don't think that it is a problem because of two-sided texture and absence of opportunity to see that holes in the game, but I'll fix it.
2) Also there was no bugs with 'Decay Bone' in the game;
3) I really didn't see a chest deformation in death anim, so I'll try to fix it;
4) The pickaxe in 'Stand 3' has all the same glitches as the pickaxe in default model. I will do something with that later.
5) Chest UV mapping... Hmm... Ok, it will be redone a little bit.
6) I think that boots, pants and legs look quite well, but I can change leg texture to get more realistic look of skin (because I don't want to edit boots' geometry) and I'll also remap boots.
7) The pickaxe won't have any changes.

2) Remapped chest and legs;
3) Boots are completely retextured now;
4) Fixed all the anims: Death, Decay Bone and even Stand 3 pickaxe glitch!

Hope now the model is worth the approval. :)

You could just make special atachments to hands, head and chest and add an anim where it figths with the axe (as milita does), it would save A LOT of space, as those attachments can be added with an ability. BTW you should do an HD version from this model of a Blood Elf/Night Elf worker, a Dwarf worker and an undead version of the peasant (for Forsaken race -if you need an skin I can make one for the undead version)

Well, the model already does have attachment points, so you can attach everything you want to it. If you need an HD Peasant without pickaxe, I'll make it soon.

That would be good too, What I meant as attachments was the fact of having exact and special attachment points.
