At first, I thought this will be just an average map really. But I was wrong, it was a great and near-perfect map. The game is quite simple, you move your Guardian with up,down, left and right arrow keys as massive bulk horde of creeps marches towards him and killing him on his wake. Its fun, frantic, and satisfying to see the whole entire horde marches towards their inevitable demise. While it all may sound like too easy, the bulkier the horde has more chances of splitting allowing them to sneak pass your Guardian. The smooth controls keeps the game in your control. The difficulty was also fine, not too hard and not too easy, if you let pass 10 baddies into your village then its game over. Fortunately, you won't have to restart the whole game once again, the game records your high score and your highest reached level, but its still too frustrating that you'll have to start over again in the beginning. Overall, GtV is a satisfying mini-game that everyone should try.

5/5 really, its one of your best maps!

Overview:

Gameplay

GtV [Guard the Village] is a mini-version of a defense map were a player braves on a fast mobs and survive each wave. similar game movement of Blizzard's Death Sheep map. this one, however, does not make the player dodge sheep zombies instead, block hordes of monsters and gain points. Game ends when the player reaches wave level 60.

Gameplay is somehow unique but basic at my views for this one, but I do like how you got the idea of using such game, I wasn't impressed on the difficulty settings because they only do the same thing, which makes it boring. although you can somehow speed it up a little like those keyboard games [O2jam, Bandmaster, etc.] for a quick boost for the players to think, another is that it lacks Multiplayer mechanics, which gives a lot of opportunities for the game such as high points, defense backups, line strategies, etc.

Terrain

I got disappointed with the terrain, not just it was monotone, but the arrangement of doodads and such. I would really want to make the map look like the front lines were scourged from past sieges and got defeated at the process while the remains of the landscape would be dark, or in the form of corruption.

but to what I see is a mismanagement of trees, doodads, and color combination that it looks terrible, but I can see this game would go on an update so I hope that should get fixed up.

I went to the Editor not just to look in the triggers, but how you made the terrain, like what I said before, it needs more work, same with the village that needs to be protected even though players never got the sight for it in-game.

Note: Big Orcnet model in the second picture is not included in the game.

Managing

After 40mins of game checking, it was great, but it doesn't have any multiplayer purposes since the game was too fast to play [stay tuned for updates I guess], difficulty is player-friendly, and good for those who love to play defense maps.

but in the middle of my views, I notice the arrow key commands uses one sound set per arrow move. and when you tick it like a spam, it becomes really noisy and irritating. now that's why the Death sheep's map did not partner such trigger in the game, another is that the base unit's sound set is a female [maybe a night elf warden?] character when you left click it. I want it to get removed, or changed it with the specified sound set you made.

some of the unfixed parts of the game I also checked:

- Food used or requirement of the unit is being shown, it would confuse the player's gaming time or it would only look bad

- "Monster Left" in the Leaderboard doesn't work

- The game title in the top right of the screen looks like it was out of space, it would be nice if you can just make it short ex. GTV v.xx

- Health and Mana Points were shown in the game as well since it is useless, it would be nice if you just change it into infinity instead of the original status

And lastly, the minimap, I would like to recommend it if you can hide it with a blank screen or any else just to make the game more challenging, isn't that right? :p

I played 15 waves or so.
The controls are good, however the camera should be fixed on a dummy unit so it doesn't jerk around.

Then there could be different unit types:
- Monsters which must not reach the town
- Fleeing villagers that you have to let through
- Power ups that grant special abilities

It would probably be better not to use waves but to just randomly spawn units all the time, since monsters don't seem to get better anyway in later waves.

Then again it would just be like the death sheep from blizzard >.>

i dont know if it is a bug but when you come to level 75 -76 or so then he will go back to village and some say i won but in the background you can see som creeps and when you are in town and she say that you winn the creeps go in to town and you will lose

edit also you can just type -kill in all rounds and you will win fast you dont need to move ;D

It's nothing original, Blizzard has done this already, what you've done is add more customization, however it's way too simple and gets repetitive after a while.
You should add some skills, like a long leap, or an omnislash kinda thing, to make the classes different and also to actually make the game fun.
Even on easy there are too many units coming at once, although when you go off the thick grass to the front, the entrance is a lot smaller and thus way easier to hold them off.
Overall I can't really give you a higher rating, this is too simple and repetitive.

How are you supposed to win this? No matter what I try, monsters rush to the village in all directions within the first few seconds. It is impossible to reach them all. I must conclude that the map is broken. This, combined with the very simple gameplay, is the reason why I can not give you anything more than 1/5.
