Good & Evil II Between Worlds V 0.7 For Patch 1.30.4 wc3

Hey there! I was debating whether or not to keep posting updated versions of the map, as I'm waiting for blizzard to release a new patch which will hopefully fix all the bugs 1.31.1 brought....
For now, this map only works for 1.29!!! With some loading issues, especially about 10 hrs in where you might get a "Ran out of storage space" error....So if you go to test this map out, just be warned, and make sure you create a bunch of save files through out your progress.
The storage space error ,which 1.31.1 was suposed to fix, will hopfuly be fixed in a new patch....So until then-
Anyhow, in this version~ I....
* Fixed an event on the toxic hills where you could leave and find Luna outside in the Tech world, essentially allowing you to skip half the game :p
* Removed the anti cheat trigger for this version, for testing purposes....
* Made Miles easier to see :p
*Fixed some camera issues where it would be stuck behind walls "Still have to fix more ,when i'm not so tired :p"
*Added an event to Tenokey city where you can now buy upgrades for the dark knight "not 100% Finished with that place...
*Made a better prize for the hard difficulty mode mini game on Coral fall island
*added a new treasure in twisted Crystalus
* Buffed the main characters up a bit
* Added a better prize for defeating Abaddon
*Beautified the Item descriptions
In the next update I hope to finish up the battle arean and maybe add a few more hunts..
also polish up and beautify some locations, such as Tenokey city, and Tristone city.

After a rough launch Good and evil 2 is finally starting to come together~
Fixed up a few things such as~

* Beautifying the Earth Temple and Crimson forest
*X Potions actually restore 5000 Hp now :/
*Removed units that weren't supposed to be at the ending of the game
* Added Gifts of the chosen in the merged world, at Robins place, and brought it back to the shrine after beating the game
*Attempted to fix the *Blank screen bug that for some reason occurs after the Pirate tower defense mini game *Still need to test it, as It only shows up while playing through the game 7 hrs in :/ Super annoying :p

fixing up a few things such as-

Seventeen years ago, Mabicore set forth to take the worlds four crystals....
Crystal guardians from each of the crystal kingdoms arose!
After ten years of war, they defeated him!...The world since has been at peace....
But there is a greater war going on....somewhere between worlds.....


The story is 100% Finished, along with most of the sidequests.
It would take you about....30 hrs to finish everything maybe? Maybe more, maybe less...
I really had to rush in the end of the development stage
as I'm not sure how the new reforge would affect my map,
the 1.31 didn't seem to like it very much....but I tried to tidy it up as best I could :)
There are some things I would like to change and add in the future
after taking a nice looong break, like the job system, it needs to be tweaked a little....
* If you're wondering why the Warrior sword skills aren't working properly,
it's a bug...To fix it, after picking up the warrior job in your first slot,
try placing it in another slot for skills such as Flametongue and Numb blade to work....

The Gear wars Mini game needs to be finished...
and finally, I would like to add Npcs and finish up the dialogue
with those that are in there....


Features:

Selecting the map causes the game to freeze and crash (on v1.3.1).
Yeah, but as I said in the description, this map only works for v1.29 sadly.... The new 1.31.1 stops important trigger from working.
However, if you want to try it on 1.31.1, I found it worked by loading up the warcraft 3 from the x86 folder. It crashed for me too using the x86_64

But again, it sadly doesn't work for 1.31.1. It will work for a while, but if you go to save and quit, then load up the game again, some important triggers won't be recognized.

Yeah, but here it crashed without even my pressing the "Play this map" button.

Will try via the other version (you might want to change the "Required version: current" on the map info).
Oh, yeah it happened for me too :( I'm very sorry for the inconveniences..I wish so much I could find a way for it to work properly for that version, Very frustrating because it was suposed to make the game run smoother.... :p Ehh but perhaps they will make another patch in the future?

Oh, and for sure, I'll do that

It shouldn't crash on 1.31.1. Did you save it with that editor version?
I understand the issues the patch brought but the staff demands maps working on the latest Warcraft III versions.

I actually got the game to work on 1.31.1 by opening the x86 folder on my computer, the 86-64 caused the crash....
When I got it working on 1.31.1 it made the game run so smooth, and cut the loading time in half.. It was perfect....only the thing is, after saving, quitting and loading the game again, a lot of spells weren't recognized anymore which were needed for triggers to run.
I'm really hoping they release a new patch, and soon..one that wont break the game :p

Lea has no disbtn.
Lea makes weapon effects without a weapon. Her portrait is kinda off too.
Talo has negative armor and less than 200 HP.
The house west of the starting village has no entry marker (there's one inside the house). Inside, several walls can be walked through.
Phoenix Downs should stack as well.
Cure sometimes isn't cast even once the cooldown is up.
Some cutscenes have no portraits while people are talking.

More as I find them.

Yeah, I still need to tidy up a few scenes a little, same with the character portraits, weapons and stuff....

As for the Phoenix Downs, I think it would make the game a little to easy having a bunch stacked in your inventory and never being able to die.
later on you can buy a Mege Phoenix, which has 5 stacked....Very useful for the super bosses and fighting in the arena :)

Are you playing on 1.29? If you're testing on 1.31.1, triggers such as storage won't work after loading a saved file, as 1.31.1 is bugged and stops spells from being recognized...

Lea's model lacks an overhead, overhead buffs go to her chest.
Miles' portrait is sometimes red and sometimes black. When black, his torso is the same color as the background. Same for Tiya, but even worse because her portrait's hair is TC.
The background mountains visible in the starting cutscene and Miles' in the village are only partially visible.
Tooltips are wrong: an item giving +5 AGI only gives 0.8 armor and not 1.
The "Revive all for 5 SP" doesn't check if there are any dead heroes, taking the SP even if there aren't. Maybe make it a fullheal as well?
Cheats should not be disabled, especially while in the map is still in beta.
Life brings heroes back at full health and mana.
Creeps should respawn only when the current set are all killed.
Life Points cost food. I'm not sure why they attack enemies that get too close, although I'm not complaining about it.
Storage doesn't make boxes appear.
Ranger job uses the passive icon.
Cutscenes aren't skippable.
Tiya's model shouldn't use guns.


Miles and Tiya have no disbtn.
Tya's health is too low.
Goblin village floor is too dark. It's hard enough to see Miles without making the rest go dark.
Tiya's model sinks into the ground when facedown.
Cavepools are neither air nor ground units (can't be hit by air net or entangle).

Prison cutscene: The camera tends to go behind the bars, obscuring the scene.
How old is Tiya supposed to be? Is she a chid or not?
Nicolas is still invulnerable after the cutscene.
Problem with the big floor doodads: while the center is out of sight, the entire floor is pitch-black.
Chi Blast has a passive icon, Raging First should be a passive icon.
Nob and Zible still make shop sounds even though they're not supposed to be there.
Invisible wall west of the goblin village.
Drunken Brawler icon is the same as Ranger and uses passive icon.
Ninja uses passive icon.
Post-tunnel:
* Camera in the wall again.
* Wait, why'd the car just disappear?
Kiye starts with Ninja gear but doesn't have the abilities until you drop it and pick it up.
Shuriken uses passive icon.
Kiye doesn't have a disbtn.

During Duncan's exposition (in the lab), the ground keeps glitching.

Molotov uses passive icon.
Airport north of the tunnel exit has pathing issues and doesn't have an entrance marker at the south.
Crystal-Tech base:
* A tree is poking out of the wall the heroes are standing on.
* Buttresses have pathing issues.
* Some guy called Roaxe talking but doesn't appear, is he supposed to be a merchant?
* Duncan doesn't help in the robot fight.
* The black floor doodad keeps glitching, showing the paved floor under it.
* Cutscene, camera, wall, staring at.
* Room after flipping the switch with Kiye: The door doodad on the right of the long hallway looks closed but can be walked through.
Fable has no class name.
Cara's class name and hero name are switched.
Mile's coat is the same color as the glitching floor doodad.

The job upgrader should be the very first hero, to prevent it being shuffled around all the time as heroes join and leave.
So I haven't encountered this yet, but is it possible for leftover creeps to bleed over into the shared areas (for example, the sahagin cave / hideout)?

After the pirates, the entirety of Miles' cutscene is a black screen, and after it's done everything that isn't the UI is pitch-black. I can't see the characters, the terrain, zilch.


Jobs should improve stats (mage jobs give more MP and MP regen, fighter jobs HP and regen, etc.)
Counter Attack needs a passive icon.

After the first Nicolas encounter: Camera starts in the air but ends up in a wall.
Boss fight: Have Alucius use an ability that knocks everyone down or something, he was going steadily down when the cutscene started.
Massive lag spike during the post-battle cutscene, the music was skipping at just about every line of dialogue.
Towards the end of the cutscene, Robin and Fable stay on the ground, Cara goes up.

Artillery has no projectile art.

Monster hunting hint doesn't work.
When the sandworm boss dies, there's a big black rectiagle in the sky, like it's showing the portrait backdrop.
Luna is mechanical. Maybe make her bigger, it's a stretch to think of six people fitting on her.
Gotta say I prefer the previous air transport. Maybe give the item upgrader an ability that summons Luna to the closest forest, and pings her location (with that whistle effect?). Or at least teleport to where she is.

Several treasure chests in the palace are empty.

Piranha model is bugged, healthbar doesn't appear above it.

Sir Nicholas' model keeps the guns. His sword is attached to his wrist rather than palm.
He and Nick also keep twirling their guns and pointing them at whoever they're talking to.

There's an annoying bug where character's abilities get switched around in the command card every time the game is loaded (or at least restarted).

Earth Temple gateway's Transport uses passive icon.
Colo's shop selection is still heard in the modern area.
If you exit the modern Earth Temple, Luna is there. Maybe hide her or prevent the exit to avoid sequence breaking.
Roaxe is halfway inside a rock at the gateway in the modern temple.
Robin's hair color should match the kid's.
Post-Mabicore cutscene: Camera, wall, inside.
The brown elevator's levels are messed up (currently it goes 2-0-1 instead of 1-0-2).
World Tree doodads have roots that are passed through.

Titan cutscene:
* Camera, wall, stuck.
* If the bridge is supposed to go down after Mabicore leaves to trap everyone, it's not visible.
Post-bossfight:
* AAAAARRRRGGGGHHH WHY ARE THEY BEING SO STUPID!!! They've ALREADY seen two identical people from different worlds! WHAT IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT!?!
* Kid Talo's portrait is his hair and goggles.

Giant's Pass: Layout needs work: There are several places where ground looks like walls and vice versa, places that look passable but aren't, occasional doodad overload, and the exit isn't indicated.
Mystic Pond map: Hole in the fence near where the gateway is/was.

Luna takeoff: No skybox.
Bogare cutscene: No skybox.

Bogare is mechanical.

Out of curiosity, what version are you playing on? Because on 1.29 I never ran into any of these camera being behind wall problems, nore the black screen which you said is a game breaker :/..also the Monster hunting hint should work. 0__o.....I'm So confused....

However, loading the editor, and playing it on 1.31.1 I noticed it messes with the terrain and doodads, slightly pushing doodads down a little, making things such as the floor glitch out, and also messing with the sounds.

Also, if you're playing on 1.31.1, some spells stop being recognized after loading a saved file. that might be why thing such as "Storage boxes" and the "Hint" don't work....

As for the models, I can't create them myself, everything I used was from this site, while there isn't much to choose from, I used what I had to work with :/

Very strange, I never noticed any of these camera issues, or characters being to dark...

As for the characters not being able to understand the Nick and Nicolas thing, It's still early in the story, all of this and everything they've been through thus far is new to them, and they're still trying to come to grips with it...At least that's what i was trying to portray :p

1.31, but since going with the x86 version allowed it to start up I thought it'd fixed everything.

In that case a lot of the problems in the first G&E might have been version-related as well.

ooh! I see, Yeah.. I'm very sorry for the inconveniences, it's a shame 1.31 seems to have broken up the whole map up, it sadly only works for 1.29 as of now....I'm surprised you were able to get as far as you did actually with the bug, spells not being recognized.... Aay chance of Blizard releasing a new patch in the future? Not really sure i want to continue wasting time, fixing up a doomed map if there arn't gonna be any new patches :p

Do you know which spells aren't recognized and cause the bugs? Is it a matter of not upgrading jobs past a certain point?

I wish I understood more, the game worked fine for me on 1.29, I was able to make it up to the second last dungeon without to much problems. However about 12 hrs in, i ran into a bug "Not enough storage space" when loading a saved file...This is what 1.31.1 was supposed to fix, but ended up bringing about a whole tun of other problems, such as spells not being recognized....and sounds not playing during cinematic, and apparently that game breaker you ran into.

As for the spells not working for 1.31.1

*Storage, which is the spell "Anti-magic Shell"
*The scorpion King Hint, the spell "Thunder clap"
and many more i'm sure....
I stopped testing once I got to the desert on 1.31.1 as everything seemed to be breaking :/ These all worked fine for me while playing in 1.29~ so I'm not really sure what to do with this project.

As much as it pains me, I' kinda afraid of wasting any more time unless blizzard comes out with a patch to fix all these problems.

I may try uploading a version without the Money cheat being disabled...All I can really do is wait and hope for a none broken patch..

Oh hey there, Yeah, it's 3rd person, like just regular warcraft where you can select all the characters "If that's what you mean" and it's a single player map. :) As of now it only works on the patch 1.29.. however, it might work for 1.30.4. too...

1.31.1 sadly breaks the map just to warn you :(

Nah, I was referring to the top left picture people see when browsing the map section. He has already changed it (before it was just the map overview).
Yeah, to that one I was also referring.
This one is huge though and not really representative. He should use a logo that can be easily recognized from the first map to the second and so on. That's how I think it would work best.

Game Breaker: After the pirates, the entirety of Miles' cutscene is a black screen, and after it's done everything that isn't the UI is pitch-black. I can't see the characters, the terrain, zilch.

Oh hey there. I've started testing out my map again on 1.30.4. and I too ran into that game breaker where everything becomes pitch black :/ I'm not sure what causes it...However I found a way to fix it!.....After the cinematic was over I tried saving and quitting, then loading the saved file again and that returned the screen back to normal! :)
I really wish I knew what was causing this error, It all worked fine on 1.29, but with loading issues....But at least I found a way to fix it :/ lol * Any how~I'm continuing to test the map, see if I run into any more bugs on 1.30.4...

Maybe it's a patch related thing in what memory stacking is concerned. It's worse with 1.31.1.
Yeah, it's gotta be something like that, It's definitely working a lot nicer on 1.30.4, with some issues like some sounds not playing, other then that, think I may have found out what was causing that blank screen in the triggers.. I'll have to test out the map again from the beginning to be sure I fixed it :p Just gotta finish testing out the map to the end on this play through first, to see if anything else is broken XD

So it turns out that loading after the blackout works on the first-uploaded version. Maybe some of these have been fixed since.

Drunken Brawler isn't healed by his own mist.

All-black floors on the... city? facility? that you can't explore with Miles and Kiye (the one where Miles says he's seen everything he needed to see).

Several buildings in the city can be walked through.

Scrapper arena corpses should be cleared when the next battle starts.
Got a mutual kill in the arena. It played the defeat message, but also gave the upgraded item.

Nicolas mentions his hat, which his portrait has but not his model.
Anya's Car's "continue plot" button has no tooltip. The car also changes color from one scene to the next.

There should really be a revive point in the palace.

I made no attempt to fight the Inferno Knight, are you supposed to beat him?

Jasmine's model seems to lack a skin (or is she really supposed to be pure white like that?). Her portrait also has decorations her model doesn't.

They don't even mention Cara got teleported or try to visit Nick?

Leviathan could use weaker AoE attacks.

Bottom half of the first post-Leviathan cutscene is obscured by one of the gate doodads.

Models fall through the back of the beached ship.

Oh hey, so glad to hear that, I've actually started working on the map again, there's gonna be a lot more things ahead that need fixing in the version you're playing on which have been fixed up in my recent update :)
Still needs a tun of polishing up, but thanks so much for testing! The map now works on 1.30.4, it's the only version that doesn't suffer with loading issues in late game, the only problem is that some sounds and music don't play when they're supposed to :/

Warrior's Flametongue icon should not use autocast corners.

If PCs are in the water when lowering the water level in the temple, they keep the slowed "swimming" animation until they're put on land when the water level is cycled again.
The camera keeps shaking during the second post-Leviathan cutscene. Also, no music.

Bogare and the world-map ship should remain under your control so you can find them on the minimap.
The world map ship should ping landing markers.
Ship camera should reset if you scroll down.

Some foggy forest areas teleport you as soon as you're inside, others require landing on exactly the right tile.
No cutscene with Chuku after the goblins?

Only Tiya can enter that forest, if it's the one on the island you're referring to, only accessible by Bogars ship? *I should probably make it so it triggers a cinimatic with any character, not just Tiya.

Yeah, Not a lot of models to work with sadly, I was lucky enough to find that one buried here on this site, other wise i would have had to use some placeholder..

Huh, strange...It was working when I was just testing it, are you talking about when Mabicore is talking with them in the Palace of the depths?

Are they to tough? With the right Job equipped they should be pretty easy, They have high evasion due to them being ghosts, so jobs such as the Gunner, Elementalest, Even the monk with its Chi Blast should be enough to take em out, Ninja with Shuriken, Fan of knives, Treasure hunter with Spare change *i'm not sure what job you have her equipped with* I suppose if you have her as a white mage you might run into some trouble :p
But i'll keep that in mind, maybe make them even weaker or something...* suppose you could cheat too...but* :p

Also, out of curiosity, what patch are you playing on?

Playing on 1.31 (not by choice, but at some point the game wouldn't start at all until I went with the auto-updating version).

Ah I see, You're not actually supposed to kill him, You just have to attack him a few times, "chase him around the shrine for a little" each time you attack him he teleports randomly, eventually after attacking him about 5 times it will trigger a cinimatic where you chase after him up a snowy mountain. You wont be able to progress if you killed him.

Island forest: No, as in some areas teleport you to the next part of the maze as soon as you enter the fog, others I had to move around in the foggy area for some time before finding it (one in particular has a spider, troll and gargoyle spawning near it).

Yeah it's supposed to be a bit of a maze, where in the "Light mist" takes you to the right path "and the darker mist takes you to a dead end path, taking you back to the beginning of the forest.

Well, if he used any 1.31.1 bugged event triggers for that part... you can imagine.

Ahh Good to know...But like I warned, triggers break in 1.31.1 unfortunately, it's out of my control, and super frustrating. You can even open up the map editor and see for yourself how the trigger is supposed to work :/ I recently tested it out on 1.30.4 and i was able to play through the entirety of the game, with only that black out bug :/

Ugg I don't know what to do any more, I don't mean to sound like a Debby downer, but I may just try fixing that black out bug and give it a rest~
