Changes
-Updated stand animation a bit, the swing was 'sticking' in place at times.
-Moved cage back to center point to alleviate shadow problems
-Changed Skull (so the skeleton unit doesn't look too terrible)
-Fixed leg clipping

I think I'll need some help if I were to add a death animation, In all of my time animating, attack animations and death ones I just can't get right.

Animating gravity is my bane, it seems.

I'll look into it though, thanks for the appraisal, Ardenian. :D

Hmm.. thats quite optional, but :V It would be cool if there are, but really XD this is already Cool and useful

I love this kind of torture device, But there should be another variation of this kind of torturing device with a man tightly compressed in the gibbet.. Here's a reference:

I love how you done this, the outcome, the texture even the creepy detail of the skull, I hope you can make more creepy stuff man :D So as your drawings.
 
It will add a lot more effect to make the hanging thingy a chain. Also adding 4 more bars so they become 8 would be better, since that dude looks like he can just pass through those sparsely placed bars.
I like the hanging animation, although it is simple, it shouldn't be anything fancier.
and a falling death animation would be useful too...

I will release the skeleton as its own model once I make a pelvis, right now 'tis but two thigh-bones hovering around the end of the spine.

If I could animate a proper death animation for the Gibbet, believe me I would have done. I cannot seem to get a grasp on gravity or velocity so I felt it would do to deliver a low-poly prop with reasonable animations, rather than a prop with a glaringly bad animation, such things can ruin a model if not done right, I know from experience.

The number of bars was a deliberate design choice as to make the skeleton more visible, I had also thought of adding an animation where he briefly comes to life and paws at the ground or pulls at the bars like in Torchlight II, but decided against it until I had more time to animate or people thought it was a good idea.

I was thinking of making a followup model that is based on this image.
If it is too grim, I'll hold off on it and start chiseling away at the Wrath of the Kaiser Models.

These are still WIPs and Wrath of the Kaiser will not be historically accurate nor realistic, so some crazy mechanical war-machines and comically evil minions will be inbound.

Offtopic is that first picture a tile from heroscape??

It might be from heroscape, I do not know however. When I set out looking for concept pieces for my RPG map, I typed in "Gibbet" and scrolled waaaay down. The picture fit the bill and I saved it for modeling and referencing later.

I need an idea for one more WotK prop before I can upload the batch, as all of it will fit on to one skin to save space.

This is quite difficult indeed, but before I think of something I just want to ask you if you're going to have Railways and perhaps even de-tracked Trains with crashed planes in craters and smoke, I just think that would be glorious and maybe even Crows flying trough the sky looking for the War's offering.
Though perhaps something that will fit for your request would be a reddish train wagon with the German Cross stamped on it and marks of rust if you don't already have those of course.

Those are all great suggestions, I'll have to get started on the Fokker and Bi-plane to churn the other two out, I quite like the idea of the train cars, well said. :grin:

I've seen a few models taken down for being too graphic or dark in nature, which is kinda disappointing to see happen. Have you any models you'd like to see in the future?

WotK quite might involve the undead, it most certainly will involve preposterous machines with clanking plates and whirling gears. Experiments gone wrong and dimly lit laboratories in Karmesinrot Keep will play a role in setting the tone near the final levels.
Unquestionably reaching into comedic absurdity in a possible bonus level.
