Genn Greymane

So I had some time free and tried to use it to make something. Two weeks ago I made this model and now I want to share it. Many people asked for proper Genn model and I tried to make one. I stick to my way of making models, as much polygons and filesize as I can lower it, so don't judge me for the design. And many will ask about the pistol and pistol animations so I better answer it right away. I did not really thought of giving him other weapon than sword in the beginning. Might do it in the future, but I doubt I will.
And no morph animations, I didn't really had time to 'unite' the human and worgen version in one model. You people could always use triggers/abilities for that.

Use it wisely and give credits. And enjoy, ofc. :]

Update: Added hero glow. Increased the rarity of the "chicken dance" animation, so it doesn't happen so often in game.

Good looking models, and they perform well in-game. A few required fixes though: The Worgen form lacks hand left and right attachments. The Human form lacks a death sound And some suggested changes to improve it: Footprints on the human form would...

Updates are applied and the model is approvable now. Good job.

Wow, whey khul man. Believe me, simple models are better ones (when it comes to 'fitting in Warcraft'), updated map size be darned. And it's always cool to see old Warcraft heroes finally getting some representation. Creative use of Owlbear anims for the worgen.

A combined 'Morph'ing version would be cool, as would (potentially) some hero glow. I would really love to see a proper "run" animation for the Wolf, perhaps a loping run reminiscent of WhiteDeath's amazing Werewolf model. Or even just something with less silly owl-bear arm swinging. ; )

Really the only drastic issue I see is the Worgen's torso; it's really rather truncated (or shortened). His belt looks like it comes up to his pectorals, giving him an "old man" look coupled with "I don't know where my waist is". Kinda humorous, actually.

3(.8)/5 with torso change.

wow, thanks a lot. It looks like Genn Greymanes younger Legion model. Will you make also an older recolored brown version?

But the face... man, it looks exactly like Greymane. I know its modified bandits face but it fits extremely well. Good job :))

Well, maybe in the future. Actually it's a scratch made head but it came out similar to bandit one.

Just a small query, but does anyone else find the left leg twist at Greymane's Stand - 2 animation a bit off? Also chicken wolf for the win! Could actually work as some sort of Taunt.

Other than the small twist and the Worgen form's rather large abdomen, these Models look very impeccable. Might I also suggest a beef up to the Forearms of the Worgen a bit more.

It's a 4/5 for me :D

That's just viewer's fault. I just edited original wildkin model and use my head mesh.

Another great work! I like Genn, the textures you chose fit very well. The only thing I see a litle weird is the Worgen's hands. But however, this is the best Genn!
Honestly, in the beginning I wanted to make Worgen version from scratch but then I only edited original wildkin model. And it turned out neat. Plus I wasn't enough motivated and didn't got much time. Thanks, thought.

@Stefan.K Aside from the human form which it's pretty decent tho, What I really like most is it's Worgen form, You nailed his Braided fur and his Head tho. Excellente amigo.

EDIT: WTF on his Worgen form, I mean really? you based the animations on a Wildkin? No wonder why his wolf-form started to do a Chicken dance.

Why everyone call it a "chicken dance"? It could be used for spells like roar, berserk...

Just find a way to get rid of his arms waving like a chicken. So far, It's a great model, Just keeep it up Stef.

Good looking models, and they perform well in-game. A few required fixes though:
  • The Worgen form lacks hand left and right attachments.
  • The Human form lacks a death sound
And some suggested changes to improve it:
  • Footprints on the human form would be good.
  • If both are heroes (they dissipate), adding a hero glow would be adequate. Or maybe add a set of decay animations, so they're versatile as non-hero too.
  • The Worgen form really could use a sound at the spell animation, it's a roar kind of thing.
  • You could increase the rarity of the chicken dance animation, so it doesn't happen so often.
  • It's alright if they're separate models, they work well in-game as so, but morph animations would be good, so people won't need to add custom effects to cover up the transition from one to another.
Awaiting at least the required fixes.
