Frozen Island

This bundle is marked as high quality. It exceeds standards and is highly desirable.
Welcome to Frozen Island,
a brutaly difficult escape adventure map.
This is realy oldschool and has some troll traps in it, not too many unlike Scary Forest.
But as you proceed the puzzles become more and more complex, the beginning is mostly a simple maze game.


I just spend a few minutes on this old piece and added a beginning and ending cinematic, if you have already played this, there is nothing new added beside that, just wanted to make it feel a bit more complete...somehow.

If you play normal i grant you 5 lifes to try your luck, there are some revive spots hidden where you can revive allies if they ran out of lifes.

or use the cheat by writing "Extralife" in the chat. but a skilled player like you would not need that right?

Hi Arohk,
this map is really really good. I love escape games and this map make me really happy... Really good made, Cool effects etc. and and imported user interface... it all fits perfekt. It will be really cool if you will keep work on this map!! For example when you press the key and the spider runs behind you and you run two times in the traps (2) they stay aktivated and blocks completly ... game end. This is one of the really frustrating points of this map. So pls take a look at it again and fix the last bugs. Regardless this is a nerly perfect escape adventure map and i played it really often.
Keep up good work!!! I know less attention ruins all motivation but you should know there are still fans of your maps out there!!! I know this, i self made 4 escape maps. Maybe you know me we still played Pain's Party togehter ;-)

Rating: 10/10 Outstanding!

Hi, I have a old version of this game and i find very nice...
But the new version arrived, i m very happy...
But at the end, in the Arohk's room, there are nobody... I think it was a bug, doesn't it?
Very nice and i m waiting for 3 or 4 years to have a new version :)

Hmm... This map has same idea as treasurous cave and temple horror, they are great :thumbs_up: These must make more! Better than mazes, cause there is nice puzzles ^^. :cool: 10/10

This map was awful. I'm a huge fan of Treasure Cave. And its innovative adventuring/Puzzle system and design.
This map just has annoying random traps, terrible terrain (The whole frozen thing makes it a pain to look at. Too bright all the time, and its very boring to look at.) and above all, it was frustrating having to re-run the whole "don't touch the evil green stuff" every bloody time I died. It's just a time waster, its NOT fun to do that! Try something new instead.

Oh well.. I guess I was expecting a challenging map, not a "don't step on this, don't touch that"-kind of map.

I give this a 1/5

A very well made map, it is a lot better than other escape maps.
Gameplay was fast paced and enjoyable, but death was quite frustrating at times.
Im not sure if this was supposed to happen, but when I got to chapter 2 and was killed by the waterfall, I had to start again (from the bottom of it)
The terrain was aesthetically pleasing and had a very strong theme, which was nice to see for once :)

I do not often play escapes, I don't like them really much, but this one was very funny and well made.
Some things were annoying, but it didn't bored me like other escape-type maps.

Here is a little review:

[Good things:]
- very nice idea of traps
- nice bosses
- very nice terrain
- not easy, but not to hard
- like the idea with the barrels and torches
- like the waterfall

[Bad things:]
- there is no way to recover lives
- some traps are very obvious
- the mountainking and the naga boss have nearly the same ability
- the blizzard from the blizzardtowers always hits me

I think this is a good escape map. Maybe you can improve some things.
Maybe you could add gamemodes, like changing the lifes or sth like that.
I think it's not the best, but it have very high potentiality.
I'll give it a 4/5

Totally awesome! You should improve the description of the mod here on Hive, aside from that, the mod is awesome! 5/5 with no doubt

this map is a good well made map, because is no super large map and have a good traps you can add more dificulty like more fog area etc. thxs for the new update , have a a good day . 5/5 just a challenge escape is good always . sorry my englis haha

1. Some DISBTNs are missing. Order (attack, stop etc.; items like golden wing boots) icons look like green squares on pause/F10. Use these to learn how to import or make disabled versions:

2. It's good you can save-load otherwise the distance you're thrown back at is pretty annoyingly huge.
3. Play music using the other trigger as now it's heard through the sound channel.
4. Shouldn't the moving barrels damage you if you get in their way? Otherwise there's no danger in that room.
5. Units selected during cinematic mode (e.g: when meeting the Warden).
6. Could've been neat for the ice markings to change once you got the ice crystal.
7. Sprint's hotkey isn't T. It's Q. It shows Q when you learn it but "t" when you hover at it after learning it.
8. Lich's obelisks still damage you when deactivated between rounds. It's unfair since they might stop without you having a way to step on the switch and not be damaged before that.
9. I feel like most things should be no comment like the naga's "hahaha" and whole discourse, totally unnecessary.
10. I'm not sure these items actually increase movement speed when I'm still on Fast with both the golden boots and the charm of water and charm of ice. Or maybe it's not intended for one player?
11. Those scenes with the dreadlord and naga demon hunter are really useless. They totally kill the mystery and atmosphere, not to mention they're childish and brain hurting in a bad way.
12. Too bad you haven't used the other blank space for other rooms/puzzles. But wait! There's more! The Credits item is confusing.
13. Because you've used the create lightning trigger, when loading the game it doesn't show up anymore. I suggest creating dummy units which instantly cast chain/forked lighting/finger of death on other dummies. Not only that but loading can also crash the game.
14. The number of lives isn't fair because you don't know the puzzles and you need to die multiple times to get the hang of some of them. Save-load works but the map wasn't intended for this when there is a lives system.
15. Not sure if the levers-fire traps-white circles puzzle works as intended as when you shoot a lever and the circle beneath you disappears you're moved to the nearest appearing to the one you were on (1 hex slot). I mean, you should fall instead, right?
16. Those switches-fire traps could have had a pattern to open the gates.
17. So, am I to enter Pain's Party :D?

I appreciate the work you put into the review, and congratulation on beating the map.
But because the map is really old and i am done with it, there will be no further updates or changes.
I did not know about the problem with lightning effects, sorry about that, and yes the map is considered to be played by multiple people, but not necessarily, each charm of ice/water or golden boots will only increase your speed once, it does not stack but multiple people can carry them.
there are hidden places where you can resurrect your dead allies.
The cinematics are from a childish time :D and are only partially done by me.
