Werewulf: The shading on this texture is far too plain and blant. The skin looks terribly blurry and messy. Sorry but rejected.

Uggh, I think its because of the white leaves, they look terrible in this pic, in game, u can actually distinguish them as individual frozen leaves

No Its because of the "Body" of the tree xD The Color isn't very icey and it needs some Shading & Highlights

Uggh give up... I'm finished with skinning. I'm sure someone has come up with this anyways. :slp:

Finished with skinning. That stinks, Just need some practice. And nope no one has tried a frozen Ent as for as I know.l

The brush you used is much too small. And it is to scratched up. Honestly, the other one was much MUCH better. Also, this dosen't look icy at all.

Agree with hawkwing, perhaps this will help you to do a nice frozen ent.

And the texture of the old skin is much better than this.

Man I feel bad... I can't make anything!!!! :sad:

There needs to be a step-by-step tutorial that shows me how to skin... cuz at this rate, there's not going to be much improvement. I mean look at Pinz, how does anyone make skins like that on there first try? Anything specific that I need to improve on?

dude at the beginning i sucked worse at skinning (i mean totally worse --> i sucked even more then i do now) you shouldn't give up but you should practise ... google some tutorials (they can help) or just practise yourself.
take a look at some good artwork and look at how theyr made.
If you were good at the beginning of something it wouldnt be fun to improve.

Do you mean, sucked more than Avsky? (no offense buddy) Why don't you try looking at the ent skin (original) Then do some mental CnP and do it a bit better. (don't forget about the knees, elbows, joints...... that i told you) If yo try hard you can do anything. but yo aren't trying hard, do you. ^-^

Well I would have written a tutorial on step by step skinning. But I aim to help everybody and only a few will get help from tutorials I like to encourage people to ask in the skinning forum. But if you ever need any help that you don't want to post in the skinning forum on I'm, always open to questions.

My first three skins were recolours. My fourth and fifth were Burn/Dodge/Smudge skins. I've only recently learned how to properly make textures.

The skin isn't too bad, I just needed WAY BETTER shadows..

uhh.. seriously... at the beginning you don't get all the FAME that you want.. maybe skinning isn't the only resource for you.. try modeling, animating, triggering and iconing

not as good as your newer ones needs a bigger brush for the lines going across it you can hardly see them remeber if its good to you it probubaly sucks to others you need it perfect and flawless to yourself for it to be good to others, at least at the begining.
