Freeze Tag Fury 1.7.1

Take the basic game that you played as a kid and add everything imaginable. Attack enemies to freeze them and attack allies to thaw them. You need to freeze all of the enemy players to win a round, and win a certain number of rounds to win. You have a vast array of items, units, arenas, events and much more to play through, so this game will never get old. If you can't find enough players, you can also set computers to play with or against you. Good luck and have fun!

Version 1.7.1 Update Log
-Fixed Marine icon
-Some terrain work
-AI no longer steal rare unit types
-Kick AI name fixed
-AI Leavers move after picking up items
-Offensive items no longer work on frozen heroes

Version 1.7.0 Update Log
-Renamed the preset configurations to cause less confusion
-New AI with the ability to pick up items (runes, ritual stones included)
-Multiboard is smaller, shorter title, shrinks to the number of players
-End Timer bug fixed
-Weak flashes with every tag and a large flash with every win
-Load code skill points fixed
-Removed some lag

Upcoming?
-Freeze Artillery
-Internal work for a lesser file size and less trigger lag
-Third person camera mode
-Other stuff o_O

I really enjoy playing this map. I played back in version 1.4.0. When I came back after a long absence from wc3, I noticed that in the new version, it doesn't let me configure several options anymore. After I pick the the team settings, it automatically chooses the AI difficulty (Normal Difficulty), automatically sets AI for leavers, and automatically picks the # of rounds. Is this intended, or is it a bug? I'd still like to be able to choose these options.

When the game starts, a dialog box pops up for the host that has the buttons: [Customize] and then a few prebuilt configurations (if only one... i forget). If you press the customize button, you should be able to customize your game experience. I am sorry to say that at the moment rounds are automatically chosen determined by the number of players (AI included at the start of the game). However, if i ever get the chance to update this map, round choices will be one of the things I will address. So, you answer your question, yes there are still the customization features, but only for host, and hidden by the customize button. Hope this helps!

Ok, got it. I thought "Customize" was for also for picking teams (the other two choices were random teams and pre-built teams). Everything's fine for me now! Thanks.

I will download the map and will test. Wait a review in few hours

Edit (one day later):

The idea of freezing and thawing is very cool and this is somthing new for me however i like it. I wasn't having time to chek all the items for those 20 round becouse if i begin cheking my team was loosing (they loose 4 games when i was cheking the items). There was a big invisible Chicken i click on it only once but i was unable even to chek the items. Some of the models have faster attack animation than others and that was a big problem, becouse me and the other one go to attack each other at the same time but when we begin attacking he attack me first 10 times in a row. Terrains was ok but still the fact that i can't see my dudes was kinda interesting becouse make the game more exited. However i think there must be some items like 20% chance to not be Freezed on attack, i chek an item that i was thinking it will freeze the enemy for a long distance but it appear that it slow me and i was the one that was freezed in the end (ppl don't like to use items that will screw them) however good map 4/5 (only a map maked by GOD will recive 5/5)

First of all, thanks for liking the map, next, on to business. All of the units have the same attack speed and the attack animations are also the same (they are based off of the exact same unit), so maybe it was a trick of the eye that they were attacking faster, or they had an item. The freezing trigger events on the start of the attack, so even if they had a faster attack, they would still freeze at the same time, it would just be the cooldown that differs. However, that can't happen. Wc3 for some reason likes to have the last person to target get priority in an attack, so either you were targeting first, and lost after running across a field, or you were attacking an AI, who auto target every few seconds. There are several different ways to guarantee that you get the first attack, mainly by obstructing the other's vision. I realize that there are quite a few items, 4 shops full of them (one being an invisible shop) and several more items that spill over through the random item option, but none of them have negative effects on you. Possibly what happened is that they used a slow item on you while you were trying a similar thing on them. There also does happen to be a "Thawing Core" item that is on the chicken that you saw, this item protects you from one freeze attack.

My rating: 4/5.
First thing: The comp seems a little powerful, even on normal dificulty.
Second: I recommend to do something about the name thingy, it gets easily annoying when everyone are named as same person.
And last: Make the terrain have abit more hiding places.

Overall: Very nice map.

I played the game. I didn't like how attacks continued. Couldn't you have made a frozen unit invulnerable, and added a second attack that only attacked friend invulnerable for unfreezing? Also, if you don't unfreeze as much as you freeze you are SOL for buying things it seems. I had 24 freezes and a single unfreeze, so no items. How about pricing items so those that help you freeze require lots of unfreeze points, and unfreeze helps you freeze? Let them points be spent.

Rui's review for "Freeze Tag Fury", by Initus (v1.7.1)

"Freeze Tag Fury" is a tagging game by Initus. Defining the map as a tagging genre pretty much describes it all. The objective is to attack an opponent to freeze him, or attack a frozen ally so that he gets unfrozen.I played the map with mare95t (mare), Paladon, Jacky-Blacky-NL (JackyBlacky), and Riptokus. We also played with an AI to figure out if it actually worked, and to meet the number of required players as well (3 or more).
At first sight, the map seems well built and worked on. I already mentioned we played with an AI, and it seems to actually work! Plus, the creator did a really smart thing: he put Red, Teal, Yellow, Green, Gray and Dark Green on a team, and the remaining colors on a second team. The trick ensures that as players join the game, they get evenly distributed through the teams.
Another plus are the multiple modes and terrains. I admit I didn't get to test them all, but diversification has never been a downside. Except this one little thing: nickname changing. Was it really necessary?
The actual gameplay is funny. The whole thing of tagging and saving makes a simple and fun minigame.A problem with these speed-based maps is that delays can make things quite uneven. I was the host, so naturally, I was faster than the other players. While the game is interesting for a while, I feel as it can quickly get boring. It is quite repetitive and the terrain I played on (River) don't inspire you to replay it. Whether the other terrains are good or not, I don't know -- like I said, I didn't play the other terrains, but they better be, otherwise this map is not really worth playing more than two or three times.I should also mention these crates and barrels that give you experience when destroyed don't leave anyone particularly amused.
An interesting map, on which effort was definitely put on. Perhaps more than necessary. My suggestion would be to go slow on the game modes, and make the terrains a little more appealing. My rating for this map is a 3/5 (Acceptable). Approved!

I rather enjoyed the continued freezing of enemied players although the game objective offers the genre related monotony.
I was a bit disappointed by your terrain-related features, you included one or two possibilities for terrain tactics but that's not much and by far not the maximum.
A well-planned terrain can offer various aspects for hiding, stalking and striking.
Still, mutliple terrained maps and game modes grant a better playing experience.

The AI player appeared very well made, a plus you can be proud of. There are not much good AIs.

All in all, a map worth a play but at the moment not much more.
There's a lot potential you can build on.
