Forsaken Bastion's Fall


Overview


Forsaken Bastion's Fall (FBF) is a map that combines Tower Defense gameplay with an AoS-like Hero PvP Battle. Our project started in 2008, when it was known as Defense of the Undead (DotU). As time went on, ideas, criticizing, and suggestions reshaped DotU into a whole new map which was then completely remade from scratch to become what it is now.
FBF is set in a completely new universe with an extensive lore that keeps growing as time goes by. It is set in a key point of the World's history: At the very end of a long war that present many great changes at social, political and religious levels. The players can choose from 2 teams and 5 different factions. The Forsaken, an ancient cult of necromancers and it's undead army, have to defend their last fortress from The Alliance (The Infidel), a coalition of human nations using their last resources to take down the Forsaken.
There is a total of 5 factions, 27 heroes, 104 items (8 base items and 24 items unique to each faction), 27 minions with varied statistics and skills, and 11 towers for the Forsaken to use. Alongside a great map terrain and an extensive lore.

  • speeded up game
  • Brood Mother (max eggs: 4 to 3 | max. offspring: 6 to 4 | Lay a new egg: 120s to 150s)

This map is totally unbalance, towers kill every creep, makes the game meaningless

Yes, thats correct. The Map is full playable but it needs time to balance all things. That's why it's still a beta will be for a longer time. Help us by giving suggestions to balance the values of towers, creeps, items and all the other things which can be balance ;)

I'm sorry but I'm not so excited about your game (played once and get bored). I see that there is no something special. the acolyte can only build 4 towers, spell effect is not really fascinating, and about environment, hmm.. not bad but not so cool.. hero pick system is very basic.. I don't get the special thing/feature that you want to offer in this game..
at this state, overall is 2.5/5 from me, but you know I cant rate if it is not 5..

first of all, thx for your feedback and the time you spend in testing our mod.

Well, it's good for us to hear some critics to our mod. Bad critics help us to improve it. So let's discuss it a bit. For me it's interesting to know...

  1. Which game you played? 1v1/2v2...
  2. How long you played?
  3. Which Hero you choose?
  4. Which Spells you think are boring and why?

Note: The fun begins when playing it with a min. of 3v3. Otherwise, it's boring, no question!

Well, as i started working on this idea i wanted to follow your words...

keep it simple and easily understandable and enjoyable

That's what i did!
I made a very simple hero pick system. It's an old school hero pick system from the earlier times of wc3 mapping. I loved it and that's why it's in this game.

I decided to make a simple item system. I was pissed of complicated item system like in other mods. That's why i just created 3 shops and gave up the idea making shops with recipes or other things. I wanted to make it easy for new players and i think it's simple enough.

For me it's interesting to get more feedback from ppl like you to improve the map.

I was just trying to be honest, not to be mean or become a haters ;)

you still able to improve the hero pick system, maybe by double clicking the hero, it's more advanced but more simple, first click will shows the description..

I was using abomintation :) what I cant understand is there is a weird blue "sphere" that will slows me down when I passed it, I don't know what for is that sphere?

my suggestion... to the creator... play every hero.. and be honest to yourself... do you enjoy playing the hero?.. then not... think very hard how to make your hero fun to play.. or suggest to their creators to make a more synergistic set of abilities...

For example a Goblin Shredder is very fun to play...


Remember... FOCUS and ONLY FOCUS on the Hero and Game Mechanics... don't bother on the system since this is not an RPG...

No sry. You can only play it with real players and I recommend to play the map with a min. of 3v3, better 4v4 - 6v6.

Well if only you can find players to fill the slot in no time. Sad to say, it is almost impossible nowadays.

Players are asking for an AI version because it is the easiest way to learn and enjoy the game.

The best way to play it is using http://makemehost.com/. We uploaded the "All Pick and All Random" (FBF-ap-v0.2.5 / FBF-ar-v0.2.5) Version there too. The version-number can of course be different.
I can only report that it works good and i played it a lot of times there.

I could help you about the ai I will upload an ai system for this map hope you download and like it I'm atually interested in ai making all my future maps will have ai .

The map's not bad, however single player is boring so i guess it is designed for multiplayer or LAN. I Can't wait Forsaken Bastion's Fall to have AI :) :)

This is a fun game, i get to play it with enough people but the invading team just keep quitting because they die. And when they quit, a sudden lag spike happens and the game freezes for a few seconds, this needs to be fixed, it's not just me, everyone lags.

I agree to some comments that the heroes are a bit bland, they seem boring and plain (though they are really not). More depth in the items (like combining them). And it's easier to have a tavern rather than displaying heroes and having to walk on circles (specially when you add more heroes)

I suggest that when the enemy team hires a unit, it goes to the army but doesn't pass through the towers(perhaps a special spawn), because when they control the units, they just send them to attack immediately and the forsaken army hasn't spawned yet (unless it was on purpose).

Different teleportation points for the forsaken and have their own defense lines.

In my honest opinion, you don't need AI for this map(as the AI would only be good for the attacking team and be totally useless on the defending team as they won't cooperate and just end up dying or feeding. And adding AI for the attacking team would be like just placing a hero mob on the invading army).

What do you mean?
I mean that as of now there is one teleportation point that teleports a hero to the first line of defense, but what if the enemy heroes are camping there. and when you tp one at a time, the enemy heroes will kill you all one by one.

You have to be careful and watch before leaving your base. The teleporter moves to annother place depending on the strength of the team.

That's why the complete area is visible for the Forsaken Players to check if they can leave the base or not.
Btw, they will not camp there because coalition units ( Death Wardens ) are still running near the teleporter places to save the place.
I never had the case that all Coalition Heroes camp on the teleporter place and we could not leave the base.

This does not mean that we can change this point. FBF is still in the beta phase.

Well, it happened on the start of a new round, the warden already left and the forsaken units have yet to spawn. The coalition just went charging in. (right up past Vali, the spider with 3k dmg). Till the forsaken(my) team teleported and backstabbed the scattered heroes of the coalition.

I could not play the beta version since i was busy. I dl the map now. Let me test and see the map. And i wonder why u did not mention garena in the map description. It is also popular. I dont use ENTgaming or make me host services.

Afaik is Garena down. We had run there Bots but atm we stopped all Bots because Bnet is crowded by to many Bots.

Btw, it is not possible to play the game alone. You need at least 6 players for a 3v3. Better 4v4 to 6v6.

Wonderful game! Its a unique and awesome idea to fusion a tower defense map with an Aeon on Strife! Warning for you haters:Forsaken Bastion's Fall its a wonderful game.if you don't like it,then you don't have good choice for games! You have my support ;)
