Flooded valley // Vallée inondée

Hello all,

I tried to create a map with quick contact on the opponent, especially in 2v2. It should be a map without too much rest time and enough pressure

General Info:

Players: 1v1 or 2v2
Size: 116 x 87
Created for "Melee"

Neutral Buildings for 1v1:
4 Goldmines
2 Shops
1 Labs
1 Mercs
1 Tavern

Creepcamps for 1v1:
10 Green
6 Orange
2 Red

Neutral Buildings for 2v2:
2 Goldmines
2 Shops
1 Labs
1 Mercs
1 Tavern

Creepcamps for 2v2:
10 Green
6 Orange

(Edit 06/03/2021)

If you can tell me what you think about it, thanks.

So, map no. 2 it is then ;) 1. Regarding the layout, main bases on high ground are almost never a good idea. They just can lead to the game being dragged out longer than normal, as if one player (or team) is ahead, he might still not win a fight in...

So this map looks quite a bit different from my previous review. It appears that all of the issues which I mentioned before are fixed, removed, or clearly improved. I'm still not entirely happy with the expansion layout, but ok. The only (new?) issue...

1. Regarding the layout, main bases on high ground are almost never a good idea. They just can lead to the game being dragged out longer than normal, as if one player (or team) is ahead, he might still not win a fight in the enemy base against high ground advantage.
2. If you are unlucky, mercs could be stuck on the western side of the merc camp.
3. There are various bugs related to ramps, as indicated on this screenshot (but also on other ramps):

To avoid some common bugs with ramps, do not work on ramps while they are in (shallow) water. Instead, raise the terrain until all of the ramps are out of water, then modify the ramps, and then lower the terrain back to the original level.
4. Again, there are gaps between trees, though it is not as much of an issue for team maps than it is for 1v1.
5. Overall the map is not really suitable for 1v1, as expanding will be very very hard. For 2v2 however, there should be more creeps.
6. There should be much more space for building near the expansions.
7. Visually, the map is looks okay.
8. Creeps and itemdrops are good.

So I dont expect you to fix all of the trees, but you should at least do something about 2, 3 and 6. Until then, map set to Awaiting update.

So this map looks quite a bit different from my previous review.
It appears that all of the issues which I mentioned before are fixed, removed, or clearly improved. I'm still not entirely happy with the expansion layout, but ok.
The only (new?) issue I still see is that the creeps on the expansions are not on camp stance. But since this is clearly a team map, it is important but not as gamebreaking as it would be for 1v1.But I'd still like to see that changed.
Also, consider downscaling trees that are on the southern side of creepcamps, to avoid them obstructing the view.
But overall, this is not enough to insist another update. Map approved.
