Fire Elemental

My entry for the hive modeling competition #10 - The Fire Elemental.

Was originally supposed to be a ground unit, but when the contest extended a week I decided to add some airborne (alternate) animations as well just to make some use of the wings.

Tools used:
- 3D Studio Max 5.1 w/Blizzard Art Tools
- Photoshop CS3
- MDX Pather
- Warcraft 3 Viewer

No polygons were harmed during the creation of this model.

Give credit if you are using this model in your map.
Please do not distribute or modify this model without my permission.

When viewing this model, it's recommended not to use any tool such as Magos' Model Editor or the Warcraft 3 Viewer, as those may display graphic, animation and particle errors. Better use the good old World Editor.

Can I thank you for every model you've done so far? Yeah man! You rock! 5/5!

Can I use this in my map? I'll give the model credit to you of course.

Nice model, 4/5
It just doesn't look right when it walks, it walks like a human, not a dragon/fire elemental.
The fire emitter on chest is just too much, I can see you want it to be strong at the stomach, but its just overkill atm. A touch of fire on the wings would be nice.

Yea it's hard to point out the good bits, but basically, everything else = awesome.

looks really good, but from the head to the neck, it lacks the molten cracky feel that the body has.

Guys, don't believe in that guy's crap.

I can assure you that the mesh, animations and texture are scratch made by me.
There's even WIP shots in the competition thread and my profile.

Result: ALL ANIMATION COPIED FROM WoW
By The Way i think he just edited the ripped model so it will be like 134 kb.
You couldn't be more wrong.

EDIT: The guy (or a moderator) deleted his post, so now my post makes no sense.

I love the model and am playing with it in a map. I'm trying to give this model the ability to fly or walk by altering the Robo-Goblin spell I've run into difficulty. Basically I want to make it an option by casting a spell to be either walking or flying. I'm sure its simple, but I'm kind of new. Has anyone succeeded with something this?

For you, try... "When [ability] is casting change fly height to [height]" ... If that is even possible. Goodluck.

Its easier to just use metamorphosis. You dont need triggers. just make the alternate unit have required animation names: alternate and then give him flying height.
