When I start the second mission I dont have any hero...only the four footman. In order to play the campaign i've been exporting the missions one by one and it worked in all your previous translated campaigns. Not sure if the problem is in the way i'm doing it in order to play

Well you need complete first chapter for arthas to appear. There are no triggers in this campaign, to start without completing previous missions. Only cache.

On the sixth mission, I killed the two Deathlords but they didn't join me. Not sure if that's what's supposed to happen...

Played it on 1.31.1, had no issues.

This campaign pleasantly surprised me and it lands at a solid 4-4.5 stars. I was very impressed with the neat Undead tech changes even though they were relatively small in scope. Arthas and the new Crypt Lord were fun and interesting characters to use and learn about. I really liked every map except 7 and 10, where the specific unlikeable trait between those two was enemies with silly amounts of HP such that took extremely long to kill as a matter of endurance rather than actual challenge or fun. All other maps were nicely sized and did not overstay their welcome, really nice work creating a solid, bug free experience that felt whole! Cinematics were clever and clean, translation was good but could use a slight bit of polish to correct remaining dialogue mistakes. Please make cutscenes skippable. Many optional objectives seemed to have no reward or impact on their respective missions.

The story is very similar to Heart of the Swarm until the very end where things take a strange turn, which seemed to happen only to put in an unexpected twist in spite of Jaina's pre-established character traits. Not to say she would have helped Arthas, but her going to the Crusade was weird. Ultimately, I found the story really neat and certainly one of the best of 'alternate timeline' category. More could have been explored with Arthas and Jaina's relationship as the campaign progressed rather than having such abrupt character decisions happen. I would heavily argue that no one cares about the Scarlet Crusade guy and he absolutely did not need to be a final boss when Jaina would have been infinitely more interesting. Flip him and her for the final two encounters if leaning so hard into the Jaina betrayal as she merits a final boss whereas some no-name Scarlet Crusade guy does not.

All in all, this campaign starts strong and stays strong until close to the very end in my opinion, where the last mission was too repetitive with the chapter before it and filled with insanely beefy enemies that were not enjoyable to engage with. The boss fights could have been placed after the end of mission 9 and the overall campaign would have basically been the same, if not better. The focus ultimately needs to be on all the maps I did like though and I had a great time, nice work - I highly recommend to folks looking for something new to play!

Thanks for translating this and feel free to pass along my review to Alvilos.

I just finished playing this campaign and it was alright, i played it on version 1.31 and my thoughts are very similar to what Jayborino said, clearly a lot of effort was put in this campaign, but in my opinion it was kinda average, especially the missions with those units that had an insane amount of hp, dmg and armor, and the story was pretty generic as well, the way Arthas decided not to speak with Jaina about the fact that he just destroyed Ner'zhul and that he got complete control of the Crown was just stupid... it felt like the map maker wanted to make the story too over dramatic for no reason.

I am gonna say a little bit about every mission:

Mission 1 (Scarlet Glow):

This mission felt too easy in the first part (where you have to survive those attack waves) and by easy i mean, you can literally press hold on Arthas in the middle of the place and just watch how everyone fights and you will just win in the end without helping them at all, yea...

After that first part, we get into actually having to escape the island, by having to go through a lot of scarlet crusaders, now this part compared to the last one was pretty hard, i even died the first time i tried it, if you do not min max every hp point on every unit you cannot actually complete the rest of the mission, it was pretty hard, but overall it was nice, i liked the way Arthas used those flame ghouls as bombs lol.

One other negative i can say about this mission was the fact that the first enemy hero i had to fight was super hard (having only a few units to deal with, his flame spells have to be dodged all the time or else u are dead) while the second enemy hero at the end of the game was pretty much a joke since i had like 50+ units at that time. So the second enemy hero (The Scarlet Commander) should be much stronger to make up for all the units and allied units i get at the end, he didn't had any spells even, which was very bad, i feel like if i had the power i would switch the first one with the second one to make the last fight better.

Mission 2 (Island of Dead):

While the first mission was hard and i actually died, this one was too easy, mainly because almost every undead or enemy mob dropped a healing rune for some reason, when my units weren't even low hp, mobs kept dropping healing runes like crazy...

And in the second part of the mission once again, the A.I. undead forces just went and destroyed the scarlet crusaders without much of my help, i felt very useless, i believe they should have had some hero to balance the scales a bit, cuz that was a slaughter, the undead forces just destroyed the enemy with ease and without my help which was pretty bad.

Mission 3 (Swamp Hunting):

This mission was interesting, once again i died the first time i played it because i did not expect the enemy forces to overwhelm me so much, it felt super hard to deal with having just my units and a few towers to defend, so the second time i build like 50 towers and held easily, i am not a fan of these kind of missions where you are forced to build lots of towers in order to survive, it feels cheezy.

I noticed that the Scarlet crusade actually had a mini base in this mission as well, but as you might expect i didn't really had time to do much about it or to even explore the map, because of how many enemies were attaking my base, it was pretty wild.
A funny thing that happened was when i replayed the mission after i had beaten it, to see what i missed on the map and used "iseedeadpeople" cheat, then that scarlet crusade base on the right actually came and attacked the little base with the portal lol, not sure why they did that but it was funny, me using the cheat must have made them move there so it's not actually a bug, but funny nonetheless.

Mission 4 (Race for Power):

I liked this mission, made me remember of the last undead chapter from the classic undead campaign with Arthas and Illidan fighting for obelisks, overall i think this mission is good.

Now i have got some suggestions to make the mission better:
I think the Argent Crusade (the humans) in this mission should have an A.I system and actually go and attack the main bulk of the green undead forces, because this is what they talked about in the last cutscene (interlude) so it makes perfect sense they should launch some attack waves from time to time.
And after some time they should even attack Arthas like after 20 minutes (when they scout him).

Mission 5 (Return of King):

One thing that bothered me about this mission in particular was the fact that i started the mission with almost no units, only a few ghouls and 2 fiends, but didn't we complete the previous mission for the very fact of having an army? so where did my army go, even in the cutscene of this very mission we can clearly see we have an army of undead there but when the mission starts all of them vanish... that to me felt really dumb...
Beside that, this mission was decent, i liked the introduction of the nerubian forces and how they tried to help Arthas.

One other big thing that i didn't like was the fact that we had 3 or 4 enemy heroes as "mini bosses" that defend the place, but after killing them they don't drop any items, like why, why even bother puting them in the mission if they aren't even a side quest and they don't even drop anything.

Mission 6 (Darkshore)

Finally a good mission, and it was a good mission because we actually got an upgrade on Arthas with the helm, i liked this mission, with all those murloc tribes and the story started to become better as well.

I liked the fact that the murlocs and the undead enemy forces were enemies and were attacking eachother on the road to my base hehe.

I liked the side quest with the deathlord revenants and that it actually gave me one of them after i finished it.

And of course on the only map where i choose not to make any flying units there is a secret place with a secret item in the forest lol, good one.

Mission 7 (Game of Shadows)

I must say this was my favorite mission of all of them, it's not even close, i loved the fact that Ner'zhul had an impact on the game with those huge "shadow strike" spell attacks, very cool.
The whole mission was great, from the side quest to all the mini bosses orc heroes that we had to defeat, it was pretty epic.
The only thing missing was the fact that there was no final battle with Ner'zhul, Arthas just absorbed him in the cutscene and thats it.

Mission 8 (Emissary of Shadow)

I liked this one as well, the dungeon crawl type maps are my favorite and this one was good, the new hero Anub'radin was super awesome as well, his spells were pretty unique, loved it.
The cook unit having lots of hp and being kinda op was funny, sadly the hp thing is not just a joke in this campaign, since most bosses and special units got tons of hp, i guess for bosses is fine but when everything has tons of hp, the gameplay becomes boring.
Not sure whats up with that side quest tho, even after i replayed the map i still found only 4 out of 5 scouts.

Mission 9 (Coming of Darkness)

This was another good mission, i got nothing bad to say about it, other than that some elite units don't drop anything except 1
And that after i replayed it again with "iseedeadpeople" i spoted the ghost of Anub'arak on a mountin lol.

Mission 10 (Paycheck)

And here we go, last mission of the campaign, and in my opinion the worst one, mainly because of those joke units with infinite hp "The Light Knights" with 20k hp and 34 hero armor, what even... again, this is not even hard, is just stupid, like i said, it takes like 5 minutes to only kill 1 of them, and there are 5 not including the boss, not only that but you have to fight lots of other smaller units as well at the same time with the Light Knights, is just a mess...
To put things in perspective, it takes like 15 hits for a ghoul to kill 1 Light Knight with the cheat "whosyourdaddy" on lol.

And once again completing this side quest doesn't actually reward the player in any way.

Not gonna talk about the story either, cuz there isn't much to talk about, compared to the Ner'zhul story this one is a joke, Jaina siding with the Scarlet Crusade makes 0 sense and killing her isn't helping either...

Another thing about this mission was all this talk about the forsaken, and how they can backstab us, but no forsaken was seen during my gameplay, considering that i did not complete the sidequest with the forsaken scouts in the previous mission i thought something was gonna happen in the next one, but alas, nothing did happen.

I only noticed 2 bugs during this mission:
- My allied green undead forces (Scourge army) don't seem to share vision with me so i cannot see them on the mini map.
- The last Light Knight has invisible skin
light knigh skin bug.png

Overall Negatives:

- Every time the music changed i had some lag and my game froze for 1 second, and talking about music, the music in this campaign was bad, there were, i believe, 3 different songs that kept rotating, 2 of them weren't even undead songs, they felt more like night elf ones (happy songs) and only 1 song felt good, it was a decent fighting song.

- Not enough items, by the end of the campaign i had only 2 items that dropped from enemies, which is stupid, there should be waay more permanent item drops, from creeps, elite mobs, mini bosses, heroes, etc.

- Some heroes and units had too much hp, made the game stale, boring and very tedious to play through by having to keep attacking the same unit for 5 minutes to kill it...

- Arthas moves too slow, he should have unholy aura by default as a 5th passive spell, before he gets the crown it should be lvl 1 and after he gets it, it should upgrade to lvl 3.

- Most side quests don't actually give any rewards after completion.

- There should be more secrets all over the maps, hidden mobs, hidden items, etc.

Overall Positives:

- I loved the new units and skins, especially the Arthas skin with the helmet on, he looks awesome.(his first skin without the helmet looks kinda like a wimp tho :D, the face is fine, but the body looks weird, his legs were too close to each other)

- I loved the new hero Anub'radin, his spells were amazing, similar to Arthas, tho i am not the biggest fan of having only 2 spells in the first half of the campaign, but overall both him and Arthas were the highlight of the whole campaign for me.

- And the story wasn't too bad, it was an interesting take on the alternate universe of the original story of Arthas, it's always nice to see new campaigns like this one, especially about the classic war3 stories, since they are the best.

Very good campaign, with a good alternative storyline. I like playing as the Lich King. Playing with a very powerful and OP hero is entertaining and badass. You can pretty much take out 40% of an army using the Lich King alone.

  1. The Scarlet Crusade has conquered the world so that it has sufficient resources and means to reach Theramore instead of fighting the Forsaken.
  2. Spammy message when trying to go on the bridge although enemy units attack allied ones there and they should be protected. Skeletons spawned there can't get to you. Later on, the enemy is blocked on the bridges because Footmen spawn one by one and go to them and you can only reach those enemies with the spell. And if they also have healers...
  3. He blocked the bridge with 3 footmen on it.
  4. Wasn't the point of burning bodies not to have them reanimated? A bomb out of a simple ghoul...
  5. The Guard Tower doesn't have a visible selection circle.
  6. There isn't sufficient space in chapter three to build enough towers and many units also don't have space to move.
  7. Scroll of Healing should be removed from the Tomb of Relics as you can't upgrade to a Black Citadel.
  8. Not sure if intended but the Orb of Darkness isn't third tier like the Orb of Corruption.
  9. You receive an optional quest to destroy the Argent Crusade base after getting the three obelisks but the chapter ends because the three obelisks convert the big one in the center too.
  10. Plague Abomination's icon is the same as the Abomination's.
  11. Chapters are cramped with little space to move in with bigger armies.
  12. Not one Boots of Speed.
  13. No use killing the heroes in Return of the King because they don't give any items and XP is already at max.
  14. The Deathlords are weak. Just overpowered Death Revenants.
  15. Arthas the murloc racist.
  16. Lots of gold mines in chapter 6 but you mainly need one.
  17. A revenant under Ner'zhul?
  18. The murloc quest doesn't give any items, just a gold mine that isn't really needed.
  19. Last chapters have the same troops and you must upgrade from 0 each time. Gets tiring.
  20. Executioner Utorolan's arrow is almost screen big.
  21. Jaina's spells don't have QWERTY hotkeys.
  22. How did Jaina know of the Argent Crusade being attacked by Arthas if she was locked away?
Compared to the previous campaign series you uploaded (Warlord of Azeroth), this campaign is much better but lacks things like custom techtrees. Some chapters are very standard while others go more towards originality. However the missions are nice overall but some of them need more or better optional quests and improved map layout. The story has a different angle at the Ner'zhul-Arthas relation which is nice.
More of a 3.5/5.

Approved.

Interesting campaign, i enjoyed playing it but i think there's many things to fix and improve.
1) The side quest: Why should i do the side quests if they don't give you anything? (except the side quests where you have to destroy an enemy base) At least gimme an item c'mon!
2) in the beginning sometimes the waves were fighting on the bridge, and arthas cannot go here for the invisible wall, i suggest to put it on the other side of the bridge :D
3) deactive sleeping for creeps in chapter 2, otherwise the troops you have to save won't have to fight them.
4) in general, (maybe i've missed items but certainly not many) put more items, better custom items but also standard items will do the job(not active like potions or scrolls)
5) in chapter 9 the "special units" are not with resistant skin, so i just possessed them and i was with 12500 hp units xD (i don't think it was on purpose, was it?)
6) in general i think that the "powerfull units" like the cook or the Orc champions have too many HP, in the chapter with Ner zul i used "whosyourdaddy" because i grew tired to send armies to these mini bosses
7) the ultimate of the Nerubian king(i don't remember his name :D) is bugged, if you stop casting it the mana will continue to decrease(at least that's what happened in the final chapter)

But the idea is cool and i love abominations:grin:
So i give it 4 stars.

Nice campaign! It's always fun to control a powerful hero, but i dislike those light elementals with 20 000health, takes a lot of time to kill those guys. Otherwise really nice campaign for me:)

I played on version 1.26 and it's fine. If you want, can give you warcaft 1.26.

I also have a problem in Chapter 8. I tried three different versions, tried on a laptop, but the game crashing always on the same chapter. I spend a few hours a day researching and I ask that anyone have a solution or anything that will help (save file, next Chapter). I'm on the edge of my nerves ...

v1.26 (recommended version) -freezes the computer when the cinematic should start
v1.28.5 - Game crashes in half loading! Pfff
v1.30.4 - Game crashes in half loading! Damnn

So I see a lot of comments with the same problem and there is still no solution ...
I've been searching for a reason to drop the game for a few days now. I spend a few hours every day at the computer and I decided to register on this site, because I see that there are many useful and very interesting topics ...

I hope that someone will find solutions as soon as possible ...

So far I can say that it is an interesting story and a very high quality effort has been invested. Now this damn Chapter 8 has ruined all my impressions of the story.

Please help!
Skip chapter 8 this time :wgrin:, I just want to continue :wconfused::wbored:
