Evil Wisp

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
This is an evil version of the Wisp it is more sinister and more evil. Perhaps you want to use this with your corrupted night elf/satyr if its associated with warcraft lore or as an evil harbringer of dooooom for your fantasy game.

A useful edit, but I the changes are a too minor. Substandard is a good place for it.

I can not imagine something like wisp to be evil, but this might be useful in some cases I suppose? ... I suggest you to add some more "puff" effect to portrait model, but maybe it is just screenshot.

In English mythology "Wisps" or Will-O-Wisp are malevolent spirits that guide travelers off the beaten path and into dangerous land , off a cliff or a steep hole. In fable the game wisps are spirits that are not absolved and when the living approach them they possess a nearby corpse and animate them. In dungeons and dragons, Pillars of eternity and pathfinder Wisps are classified as evil and try to kill you with lightning. If you watch ghost documentaries Wisps are usually an indicator of a ghost nearby but it´s usually just dust that is caught on camera.

It´s only in a select few games that wisps are good.

Simple yet brilliant idea and nice model, I can confirm it has black puff on the portrait in game, it is just not shown on the ss.

Hey that's very cool! And useful - I think I saw shadowy wisps in WC3 maps at some point, but without proper models. Black textures work their magic on the model and It indeed looks like an evil wisp. Looks very smooth. Somehow foggy yet well defined in space doe to contrasts. I would even use it as a replacement for a regular wisp body model with a default portrait just for the sake of adding a contrast to the map.

Though I feel like portrait needs something more. Like it needs to be more bright in the effects department and the skull needs to be more transparent, I think. Maybe a teamcoloured eye glow too? Something along the lines.

The portrait kinda reminds me of the wailing skull ability from battle realms if anyone remembers or knows that game

Can i suggest this Wisp with a more visible skull as base?
You mean the base model. Well yah I guess I can make an alternative model but I don´t know when I will get around to it.

Hey! New portrait is amazing. Though increasing the resolution of texture used (maybe using a different one) and avoiding using blue colour for it's base (your wisp looks so legit in red team-colour, while it's semi-transparent portrait kinda doesn't fit). Though making something that will fit all teamcolours is a challenge indeed. Just throwing ideas out there!

Yah I might, but imma little scared of making custom mdl cause my 3dsmax is buggy, i have no idea what happened to the dryad but geoset id dont work properly. hope my previous comment didnt sound like sarcasm cause it wasnt

Nope. Everything cool. I am not here to listen to sarcasm. I am just here to do my job and moderate stuff - no matter what. :)
