When Earth falls under attack from invincible aliens, no military unit in the world is able to beat them. Maj. William Cage, an officer who has never seen combat, is assigned to a suicide mission. Killed within moments, Cage finds himself thrown into a time loop, in which he relives the same brutal fight -- and his death -- over and over again. However, Cage's fighting skills improve with each encore, bringing him and a comrade ever closer to defeating the aliens.

Play as Rita and William and try to find and destroy the Omega. Kill hundreds of aliens, use different tactics, and use every thing to your advantage. You are fighting a foe that no one has ever seen, so give it all you got. Play through 7 different stages and kill 2 bosses in this difficult objective map. Have fun!

Next time you update your map, use the Changelog in your map description to let others know what you've updated/fixed. If you don't do so, nobody can know what you've done to your map therefore I'm unable to approve it. For now, this is sent once again to needs fix.


EDIT: Map reached an acceptable state. Although there are still leaks, the game doesn't seem to lag and the gameplay is quite enjoyable (finally managed to reach the end) so I'll approve it after so many efforts and updates. Congratulations!

Thank you! I have worked hard on this map to put it in pending, yes the map does lag a bit, but I have done a lot to decrease it, I'll see if I can decrease it more. Btw, you should have seen it when was just made. It was all lag. It would also be nice if you could tell me which stage it lags.

TERRAIN

The terrain was a disaster. It doesn't actually look very poor but the core problem is that the map is meant to be modern and here in your map I don't get the feeling of modernity. How come you used Village tiles to create a base or a city of nowadays? How come you created the paths with cobble path and not with streets? I expected to see tiles like this one and this one. The doodads are no exception to what I'm saying. This, this, this and even this are the ones I'd recommend to use. Scour for other models, the more modern stuff you have, the better your map will be. However, there is a point which plays to your favour. The way you did the terrain is good enough and pleasant to the eye; luckily that counts a lot yet this does not mean you shall not try to modernize your terrain. In addition, you cannot use cliffs to create the walls of a house (part three, house defense). Additionally, the snowy part could be much better since you have only one icy tile. Here, you have to focus on snowy doodads. I'd also suggest adding a weather effect like snow falling from the sky to enhance your terrain.

GAMEPLAY

The gameplay was good and quite simple. Leading the soldiers throughout different battlefields was amusing. Fighting a horde of monsters with my army was also entertaining. However, the heroes were a total catastrophe. Not only are their skills copy and pastes from default ones but also boring to play. Both heroes had the same skills with only one being different. That's not good. Come on, they are two clones like that! And... holy light (or health pack)? How come it can heal mechanical units like Tank and Mortar? You should tick Mechanical for these units in the Object Editor ---> Stats - Unit Classification. Talking about items, I saw almost nothing really fitting the theme or even innovative. Even the healing items which had very good modern icons were simply called "Potions". At least I saw some good variation within the mimics, there are various types of enemies to fight, each with its own features. Returning to the game itself, the camera was very bothersome. Every time one of my units entered a portal, the camera instantly shifted to the next location. You should bear in mind that over 20 units pass the portal so having a camera which moves 20 times repeatedly can be really annoying. I don't even know why automatically ordering my troops to move when they get teleported. What I'd recommend to do is letting the camera move only when my heroes enter the portal and not ordering my troops to move when they are teleported. In general, you simply need to improve the heroes and the camera, the rest is marvellous.

OTHER ISSUES

One of the first weird things I noticed was the researches. They were relatively extremely cheap. It was shocking to see that a 50-gold research (Strength) would increase my soldiers HP tremendously. For example, the humble Marine had 100 HP. After the research, he had 3600 HP!!! My eyes then fell on a second research called Tough Fabric. It costs three times as much as Strength but it merely increases the HP of Marines by 100 and the armor by a small quantity. What the hell? It's not logical really. Even the other researches were far too economic, making the gameplay excessively straightforward with the lower difficulties (tested with normal difficulty, can't imagine how super easy would be...). When I tested the impossible difficulty, I understood why you did that. Impossible difficulty cannot be played at all. One creep is enough to kill everyone so it's senseless to play the game in that case. Some balance is required. Researches need to reach an equilibrium because if you leave the game like that, the items are totally useless since they are not needed to tackle the mimics. Would you also mind increasing the number of items available (possibly custom ones)? Getting to something more critical, I noticed the game is pretty buggy. The first time I played, I reached the house but then I had no instructions on what to do. The second time I played, strangely this bug was fixed. Besides, when I reached the snowy part and retrieved the item, I returned back to the helicopter but nothing happened. Please look into this because I've not been able to finish the game for this.

OVERALL RESULT

In conclusion, the map needs several improvements before being approved. For now, I will give it 2/5 and set the map to Needs Fix.

That was a joy to read and not as bad as i thought. Thank you though, i couldn't find the bug where all my troops had 36000 HP. I guess that was the strength. I'll get right on it.

Not 36000 but 3600 (Three thousand six hundred)

EDIT: The update brought a lot of awesome stuff! The terrain has been improved, the researches have been balanced, the camera has been fixed but some quests repeat themselves (Part Two appeared twice in my quest log). It was funny to see then how units can pass like ghosts through the door of the house. Casting this aside, I checked the map in the World Editor and not only did I find a lot of leaks but also discovered that you never used Turn off (This trigger) with the events "A unit enters region", that's why some triggers repeat themselves needlessly. The leaks cause plenty of lag to occur after some time you play, they must be fixed. About the snowy part, it wasn't until I looked at the triggers that I discovered that when I retrieved the weapon, I had to go to a specific region heavily guarded by mimics. You should add a portal right there after I get the item or ping the map or at least give me some instructions to let me know I have to go there.

For now, this stays pending until most of the leaks are fixed and the rest of the issues are fixed. To fix your leaks, check this out.

Short Feedback:

Terrain: Too simple
Gameplay: Nothing special... i moved forward up to the first Portal and than i came out in the bottom of the map and get surrounded by units.... Dead!!! :/

After dying 2-3 times i lost the motivation to play again. It's too simple for me to play it again. Sry :(

Why do you lose the game when you die? The thing that makes the movie is when you die, you go back to the start of the day.
You should make it that when tom dies, he restarts and keep his own level. Rita should start at max level, at the starting stage of the game, rita is carrying everyone. But as you die more and more and level up, tom becomes the stronger one.
I understand that this makes the game sort of easy. But you have the different difficulties for people who want to try more challenging things.

You can also make the last stage without revive. You die you lose, like in the movies.

Im just saying that you are taking out the uniqueness of the edge of tomorrow theme and making this a generic killing game.

Wow, I actually love that idea! Ill probably have to make the mimics way harder if rita starts fully leveled, but I will see what I can do after I return.

I didn't really enjoy this. The beginning was fun, but once I started upgrading my units I pretty much streamrolled through the content. Also the quests themselves are sometimes confusing as to what location you're suppose to go to.

I got bored near the end, and just let my hero die, and then exited the game. I liked the custom models of the army and the aliens, but that's just about it.

Eh, it's not that good of a map anyways. I'm trying to better and that was a miracle anyone would've accepted it. But I'm glad they did. Now I just regret not putting much work into it as I should've.

Yea I know, I find it a miracle that is was approved. I didn't put much quality in the map as I should have or thought into the map.
