Gameplay
To play Dwarves simply go Human. Dwarves focus on technology and late game units so a fast expansion is advised in order to get the better army. That said, your tier 1 units will still be usable late game. One thing to get right is economy as a poor economy will be very harmful to you.

Features
This map features Blizzard terrain, a replaced race (might make 5 later on) and cool new spells and units for it. The new race has ten combat units one worker and four heroes. There are upgrades for every unit and a great amount of flexibility is available; whether you want to go tech heavy, organic or a mix of everything. I made this for other people to use in their campaign/map. Simply export the imports and object data and import into your map but remember to credit me and the makers of the resources.

I tried to use the Storm Mage's ultimate and it crashed the game (also, really? The Spellbreaker voice on a dwarf?).

The Warrior and Rifleman's healing ability requires clicking somewhere else instead of instahealing.

A few tooltips need updating (Gryphon Aviary says it can build Dragonhawks).

If you have a better suggestion for a soundset then give me it. About the ability crashing I don't know; if anybody else suffers this problem then I will look into it.

The drink ability is based off of flare, and there are no other single use abilities that are self cast so that is a problem I can't fix unfortunately.

I will fix the tooltips.
 
Well because I'm a lazy-no-good-for-nothing-trigger-can't-be-bothered-maker. That trigger would be difficult to make I think but I will see what I can do.

Archmage soundset? You mean with all those horse sounds going on? Maybe but I'm sure there is a better one out there. Meh, I might look for a better one.

I personally just love the rifleman elite and über tank model despite their large size. I guess people can use what they want to use.

Anybody that downloads this is free to use it in their projects as long as they credit me and the makers of the resources.
 
Excuse me? Please keep comments like that to yourself in future; especially in the comments of my map.

There are two Gryphons because they both fulfil different roles. The Gryphon Alpha is a heavy anti-air unit with an upgrade that makes it semi-good at taking out casters etc.

This site has so much more over epic war so if you really think this site is as rubbish as you portray it then just leave I certainly don't want you here if that is how you slander maps and sites.
 
Did I say "epic war is rubbish"? No I didn't my point is that if you think that this site has little over epic war and that it is either an equal or better site to this one then why are you still here? That and you insulted my map comparing it to some of the lower quality things you can find on a site like epic war.

I am not slandering epic war merely stating the fact that this site is generally better than it.

Seriously you are accusing me of slandering sites you have basically just said to me what I just said to you. If you want to start an argument like this don't put it on my map go to the forums I'm sure Ralle would be more than happy to hear what you have to say about this site. I said this site has more than epic war in that this site has a starcraft 2 section a very active forum etc. I was not referencing to the content of the site. What I said was fact not opinion.

If any mods read this I hope they delete these posts because I don't want this on my map. I'm here to make maps and campaigns for people to enjoy. The comments are for constructive criticism and healthy debate about the topic of the map not people's opinions on the hosting site.

I would rather not have this argument with someone who simply refuses to let things go and understand what others are saying. Wazzz please don't respond to this the argument is over.
 
I am not slandering anybody or anything and I am trying to be as nice as possible but when you insist that I am being slanderous when I constantly explain how I am not and how you started it by bearing that opening statement. I already said the argument was over so now that that is the end of it hopefully we can still be friendly towards each other.

I already explained the differences between the gryphons in an earlier post.
 
Let me explain what happened from my perspective: you made a comment about how this site is now little better than epic war (paraphrasing here). Which I took as slanderous towards this site (you implied this site was better than epic war but was now at its implied lower quality level) and you said it in the comments of my map which implied you were comparing my map. That is why I took my stance and tried to explain to you how I didn't want those sorts of comments on my maps. Sorry if I caused any confusion or unnecessary hostility. As you can tell it is hard to portray tone on the Internet.

Either way on topic: the übertank fits in with the dwarves knack for technology so instead of having an alternate knight unit I thought I would be inventive; same with the gryphon.

The race is nice, but too simple.It is pretty much like humans.A lot of same units, structures,... except you used imported stuff.It says for worker it can go militia, but it can't.Town hall has call to arms, but has no one to call :( (forever a structure).Uber tank can attack ground and when I want to choose where to attack, there is no aoe circle...short range+no area+artillery attack=fail.Heroes are nice, but imba.Resurection on lvl 1, 40 second disable, barrage as ultimate=lolwut.

I suggest you to work and experiment a lot with "cast/attack point" and attack sound.Battle priest swing, I hear the model's "woosh" and like 0.5 sec later I hear the impact.Griffon alpha has no sound, and he is melee...
 
If you list all the problems I will fix them.

What about the trigger? Just because it is simple doesn't mean it doesn't work.

The ubertank doesn't have the attack ground ability. Barrage isn't the ultimate the icon has just been used. It is actually a multi-shot. There is sometimes a glitch with the Town Hall and the call to arms but I will fix that.

What units are the same? I don't know what you're talking about. The Gryphon and Gyrocopter have to be the same no point changing them.

To the Wazz/Footman conversation of Gryphons & Tanks... I naturally have to stand up for/defend Footman a bit here, as I went through something similar in designing my custom Jungle Troll race. The challenge in making an entire "Faction" (comparable to the original 4) out of a singular "Race" is that you lose a lot of the diversity available to other Factions (i.e. Alliance is Humans, B.Elves & Dwarves... Horde is Orcs, Trolls and Tauren... But Dwarves are just Dwarves. Trolls are just Trolls (lol)). This can make coming up with mechanical, flying, and even some basic combat units, challenging.

I faced this discussion with another individual I respect, challenging my decision to include 2 "Bat" units in the Trolls. For a variety of reasons (not the least of which is how few "flying units" make sense for J.Trolls), I included 2 "Bat" units; one a "Vampire Bat" (light anti-air flying unit with melee bite attack; excellent scout & deals better damage in groups) and a "Bom-bat-ier" (medium/heavy flying mounted unit, ranged Siege attack or whatevs). I tried to make sure they were as different as possible (in terms of both aesthetics and gameplay), and I feel it's a good combination. However, it still can look unimaginative to those just glancing over it. So I feel for you, Footman16.

However, I can understand a bit of what Wazz is saying; you have two nearly identical units (at least in terms of aesthetics; both are dwarven-mounted gryphons). ((I won't go into whether or not the particular models go well together; SoC has great resources but a tad un-Warcrafty IMO)). Granted, they perform different Gameplay Roles, but that's not intuitively obvious from looking at them (an incredibly important element of game design (i.e. Team Fortress 2)).
Similarly with the Tanks. I LOVE that model... But it's just like an uber (or even Heroic) version of the original. Next to the original, they just kinda look... sad. :<

Now, as a caveat to all this, I haven't downloaded or tested anything. Perhaps the tanks/gryphons are really quite different in game. But even if they are (& especially if they aren't), you may want to consider some options for greater differentiation (esp in terms of aesthetics).

Good luck! Making races is hard. I'll make sure to try to do yours justice when I finish my Dwarves. :p

Use Auto-cast spells since micromanaging is hard in the middle of a fight.

Improve on the drink ale ability. The idea is fine, may i suggest that the ability be based on the potion of healing item ability then use triggers to remove it once used - i haven't tried yet. Just suggesting.

Your maps are awesome. Can't wait to play more altered melee maps from you. Good day to you :)

Thanks for the feedback, sorry it's taken so long to reply. Well, the Battlepriest only had one non-autocast ability; true the Runesmith has no auto-cast abilities and in testing they are hard to micro-manage. Perhaps the answer would be to add the QWER system to unit abilities?

i can only think on how good this map will be when i play it, for some reason i can't use internet on my laptop.

well, maybe i will like Darkspear Tribes or maybe Pandaren.. and maybe.. have the ever existing races on the warcraft to be added on one map, sounds like a blazing idea, i just like it as long as the lore say it, thankfully people still create so that i can play the other possible playable races from the lore.
