Deer Survival

Short description
A Warcraft 3 map where you are a deer, that has to survive in a forest full of dangers with up to 14 other players. The difficulty is increasing each day. The last survivor wins.

Full description
You're a deer. You can't attack anyone, or build anything. You're just a deer that can only jump or graze or make weird noises. All you need to do is to stay alive longer than the other players. Surviving gets harder and harder each day - new items and friendly creatures spawn less, while predators spawn more and get new abilities.

You can play alone, to practice or something, but it's recommended to play with at least 1 other player.

If you die and there are players that are still alive, the map is revealed to you so you can spectate the game (or leave). If you died and turned into a dryad, you can affect the outcome of the map, but cannot win.
If you got turned into a dryad while playing alone - good job! The game won't end, so feel free to do whatever you want or leave yourself.

There're lots of useful tips in the Quests section, and also info about different characters you can encounter in the forest. Here are some of them:

Deer
This is you. You are fast, can fit in narrow spaces, can jump on long distances and eat every plant in sight.
Your mana is your hunger meter. The less mana you have, the more hungry you are. If you end up with 0 mana, you'll start losing your health.
You also have 1 inventory slot so you can store there some plant to also eat, but later.

BTNTimberWolf.png
Wolf
The most common predator in the map. Gets "Night invisibility" after night 2, "Critical strike" after night 4, 350 speed after night 5.
  • will hunt for prey when hungry, usually stops hunting in the morning
  • slightly slower than a deer
  • can enter narrow areas
BTNDireWolf.png
Wolfhound
The number of wolfhounds is proportional to the number of players. Gets "Night invisibility" after night 3, 350 speed after night 4.
  • will hunt for prey when hungry, usually stops hunting in the morning
  • slightly faster than a deer
  • has critical strike
BTNGrizzlyBear.png
Bear
Bears are very friendly (if not hungry) - they will attack anyone who attacks a deer nearby. Gets 280 speed after night 5.
  • will hunt for prey when hungry, usually stops hunting in the morning
  • will protect deer if not hungry
  • very slow, but can stun (35% chance)
BTNSpiderBlack.png
Spider
They are visible during the day and will always attack any deer or critter nearby. Gets "Parasite" after night 3.
  • doesn't move until prey is nearby
  • invisible during the night
  • very fast and annoying, can enter narrow areas
BTNSpiderGreen.png
Poisonous spider
Behave like regular spiders, but they are very small and have a long-lasting poison effect.
  • doesn't move until prey is nearby
  • invisible during the night, attacks have poison effect
  • very fast, small and annoying, can enter narrow areas
BTNDryad.png
Dryad
A mythical extremely friendly being that enters the forest after the first night (and only once). Can heal deer, poison enemies, can rebirth and come to help crying deer. Upon death, kills all enemies around her and drops Dryad's heart.
  • invisible during the night
  • can enter narrow areas
BTNDruidOfTheTalon.png
Druid
Has a 30% chance to spawn instead of Dryad. In this case, a signpost can be found on the map from the start of the game, that reads "Druid's home is nearby". Upon death, kills all enemies around him and drops Druid's heart. If a deer dies while the Druid is alive, the deer will become the Dryad (only once). The deer that became a Dryad can't win the game.

Could use some custom icons for mushrooms, as an example. Also, the Graze buff is that of Replenish Mana instead of looking the same as the ability icon. Might be a good idea to have ability hotkeys following QWERTY. Some of the animals are inactive...

Might be a good idea to have ability hotkeys following QWERTY.
Some of the animals are inactive during their day cycle even if you get somewhat close to them.

Generally, creative and nice fun.

Approved.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.
