Deathknight (Model)

Reviews
Frankster : Nice and simple edit. Good use of textures. Works in-game and performs well. Approved. (Some more team colour would be nice.)

When I think of death knights, I think brutal, dark warriors. This model seems more dark and decisive - not much of a warrior to me. Still good model though, although there seems to be a few models based off medivh on the Hive 4/5 because it's not original.

To everyone saying "deathknights don't use staves" / "deathknights are powerful, plate-wearing warriors", the term deathknight actually comes from warcraft 2, where the deathknight was the orc spellcaster unit. It was an undead knight raised by Gul'dan and inhabited by the spirits of orcish necrolytes. They rode skeletal horses (which wc3 continued) and used jeweled truncheons - staves - as their primary weapon. They wore tattered cloth, and never so much as glanced at a runesword. The title was reused for a new undead unit in WC3, but the original deathknights were spellcaster units (and, in my humble opinion, much much cooler).

Actually it comes from DnD but that's a different story.

WarCraft 2 Death Knights were Orc Shadow Council Members placed inside Human bodies. Thus their human-like bone structure. They rode undead horses as they do in Wc3 and WoW, but instead of being runeblade wielders, they usually had wands or staves, casting dark magic. Basically an OP Necromancer on a horse.

Great model! The Portrait for it is acting really glitchy for me though. If I click on certain units then back to this model, sometimes it's perfectly fine. More often than not though it just shows a blank portrait or an extremely dislocated version. Still love the model!

Thanks to all who corrected others on the Lore. The Lore is what's important. The Lore is all-powerful. THE LORE SEES ALL~..a,mfdskkl

Wow, I'm torn. Many have already faithfully re-created the Wc2 Death Knight (i.e. on the horse & with the truncheon & stuff; too lazy to link), and that's the one I've used for so long with so much glee, but this... This... This is quite excellent, and a really good alternative. Perhaps even a replacement?

But no, I'm sorry Teron, I didn't mean it! Please, don't hurt me...

Anyway, excellent stuff.
