The Custodian Guards of Kaloria is the best home defense unit unlike any Human factions. They rely on defending Imperium's border outside, inside and within. Their job is to seek any corruption and injustice and keeping any victims safe from harm.

I would like to thank deme3s and dehme for the models of the High Elf Highlord and the Blood Elf Female Blood Mage.

Buildings:
1. Kalorian Town Hall
- Command center and drop-off point for gold and lumber, trains Custodian Peasants. Can upgrade to Keep and Castle, unlike Republic or Imperial Keeps or Castles, they fire arrows against land and air units.
2. Domus - Food production building for the Custodian units.
3. Custodian Barracks - Troop production building, trains Hammer Guards, Javeliners and Pacifiers. Has Reflective Armor, Extended Spears and Animal War Training Upgrades.
4. Altar of the Custodes - Summons heroes and revives slain heroes.
5. Warehouse - Drop-off point for lumber and has Improved Masonry and Lumber Harvesting upgrades.
6. Blacksmith - Has weapons and armor upgrades for the Custodians.
7. Arcane Sanctum - Spellcaster production building, trains Illusionists, Mounted Priests and Death Guards. Has upgrades on Illusionists and Mounted Priests, as well as Control Magic and Magic Sentry for Flame Towers.
8. Pandemonium - An eerie building that summons powerful, yet unstable creatures and mechanized beings. Produces Lichen Golems, Overlords and Repeating Cannon. Has the Flare, Custodian Rage and Asylum Resentment upgrades.
9. Kalorian Aviary - Trains Kalorian Gryphons and Siege Dragons. Has the Cloud and Storm Hammers upgrade.
10. Marketplace - Creates a shop for purchasable items, unlocks items depending on a current Keep or Castle.
11. Flame Tower - Defensive structure, fires fireballs against land and air units.

Units:
1. Peasant - Basic worker unit, can gather gold and lumber, builds and repair structures. But does not have the Call to Arms ability due to the defensive abilities of the Kalorian Keep and then Castle.
2. Hammer Guard - Custodian basic infantry armed with battle hammers and kite shields. Has the Reflective Armor ability to repel and deal damage to enemy melee units.
3. Javeliner - Ranged infantry, excel at throwing spears against air units. Has the Extended Spears upgrade.
4. Pacifier - Powerful mounted unit. Has the Reflective Armor ability to repel and deal damage to enemy melee units.
5. Mounted Priest - Mounted wizards casting lifesaving abilities, can cast Healing Wave, Dispel Magic and Inner Fire.
6. Illusionist - Dream Elven spellcaster, can cast Faerie Fire, Mirror Image and Mana Flare.
7. Kalorian Death Guard - Possessed elite warriors with the Death Coil ability, can also learn Control Magic and Feedback and immune to spells.
8. Lichen Golem - Heavy assault unit, can Feedback and immune to spells.
9. Overlord - Very heavy assault unit, has the Cleaving Attack and immune to spells.
10. Repeating Cannon - Short-ranged artillery unit, deal heavy damage against ground units and buildings. Has the Flare ability to reveal invisible units.
11. Kalorian Gryphon - Veteran dwarven riders with aged gryphons, has better armor, damage and range. Has the Storm Hammers upgrade.
12. Siege Dragon - Powerful creature, that deals heavy damage against buildings. Has the Cloud ability to stop enemy towers from attacking.

Heroes:
1. Highlord - Powerful melee hero, has an excellent burst damage, can learn Shockwave, War Stomp, Bash and Avatar.
2. Kalorian Ragelord - Warrior hero, adept at offensive capabilities, disrupting troops and buffs. Can learn Storm Bolt, Rage, Devotion Aura and Volcano.
3. Dream Mage - Support hero, relying on detection, awareness and survivability. Can learn Healing Spray, Hex, Far Sight and Death and Decay.
4. Archwizard - Ranged assault hero, predecessor of the Archmage, but more powerful. Can learn Flame Strike, Spirit Beast, Brilliance Aura and Earthquake.

Pros and Cons:
- Weak soldiers, but strong defenses in early game
- Powerful units and abilities in late game

Overview:
The Custodian Guards of Kaloria are no exception to the Imperium, but they rely on defensive rather than offensive purposes. They have the power to root out corruption and preventing any rebellions from within that may spoil or destroy the world or even humanity. They have the best soldiers on the battlefield and its powerful creatures from the Netherworld would help the Custodians to support them.

Here is my review:

Right off the bat it is very evident that this is a simple faction design. The majority if hero abilities, for example, are just ingame abilities with the occasional reskinned ingame ability. For the most part, this is a different take on the melee Human faction with some custom assets (and golems).

Now, when there are changes, a lot of these are very minor in some instances - for example, the Kalorian Deathguard is effectively a melee ranged Spellbreaker that deals more damage and has Death Coil instead of Spell Steal (which, to be honest, is probably very desirable for a lot of custom race makers given the complications Spell Steal introduces just by existing - but this is wholly tangential). The Mounted Priest has the same abilities as the ingame Priest, replacing Heal with Healing Wave. The faction still has the Animal War Training upgrade with the Pacifier being a Knight that has the same Reflective Armor ability the Footman replacement has. Given that this faction is played in place of the Humans (that is, you cannot play as the melee Human faction in this map), it is conceivable that this is intended as a replacement to the faction. Adding in the custom music for it is a nice touch, and I've certainly noticed your custom design for a Coat of Arms - not something everybody does, and it is a nice touch for fleshing it out.

Despite the simplicity of this map, there are some problems. The Rage ability for the Kalorian Ragelord (a name that I love for how goofy it is, and it makes sense he'd have an ability called Rage) doesn't appear to work as intended. On the surface it appears to be a reskinned Chemical Rage ability, but mechanically it automatically activates when you learn the skill, and any time you try to use it after that it has no actual effect - the bonus to attack and movement speed, however, appear to be permanent. There are a couple of green icons, too, but only when disabled - likely an issue with the DISBTN pathing. Specifically I have noticed the Kalorian Aviary, Pacifier, Illusionist and Highlord icons to have this issue. Advanced Flame Towers, while they work fine mechanically, are obscenely potent. I am unsure whether or not this is by design, but even the base tower is dirt cheap for what it is, costing only 80 gold and 60 lumber (double that to upgrade to Advanced Flame Tower, and you end up with a fast-attacking defense structure that deals 67-85 damage!). Balance wise, the Kalorian Aviary is also incredibly pricey with a lumber cost of 240 (only 120 gold, but the lumber cost will hit you very hard).

For the most part, super simple entry. It doesn't really offer anything new, but if you're looking for a partly reskinned Human melee faction with Golems instead of Dwarves (proving that they were right to fear being replaced by automation), then it's worth checking this out. If you're looking for a deeper playing experience with a modded race, though, it's probably best to give this one a miss.

Also, don't forget to turn Reforged Mode on before playing - although it should be said, it is possible to set the map to play in HD only, making it automatically switch to that mode for anyone who wants to play it. Going through Scenario -> Map Options will let you change the Supported Modes option to HD only. That should help resolve that issue completely for you :)

For now, good luck, and I'm admiring the hustle.
