Crimson Blade Ultimate

Map Info:
Crimson Blade is a third person arena style map where you pick one of eleven heroes to combat your opponents. The game is somewhat reminiscent of 3D open world rpgs though. Crimson Blade can be played either up to 6v6 or single player. Just download the map and move the file to C:/Program Files (x86)/Warcraft III/Maps/Download. There is an opening cinematic that can be skipped by pressing ESC.
You can type -unstuck if your hero ever gets stuck.


There are 3 victory modes, one for killing heroes, one for capturing hostages, and one for planting crops. Hostages can be captured easily just by moving close by them and they will automatically follow you. To plant crops, just use the crop item on farmland if you find one around. They pop up randomly throughout the map.

This is the 3D version of the map. Use the arrow keys to move and spells to attack (all the spells are instant cast!). I will be posting a 2D version of the map soon (in case if one prefers the birds eye view over the arrow key controls).

If you ever happen upon a cinematic mode during a battle, you can simply press ESC to turn it off temporarily. Or you can press "turn game chat off" in Advanced Options. If your camera shifted, you can type "-view reset" to reset your camera.

"Error boomerang out of range" How do you get it back? It seem to be circling around a region after I died. Scope doesn't work. How do you attack air units? Boomerangs seem not to hit them. Trying to use Shimmerweed and it tells me "Error message...

Selection of game modes and AI starts quite late. I've been playing for more than 30 seconds when the dialogue boxes started appearing. It's not really a game you can get the hang of easily but it's OK Approved.

2. Messages should pop after the intro ends.
3. Abilities and options are mixed in the spell book.
4. Shouldn't have made the movement icons black because Stop is selected by the game when the hero stands still.
5. You can get stuck between the margins of a broken bridge.
6. Turning around takes too much while something might be attacking you.
7. Some spells just take you far away without knowing where until you reach the place.
8. Controls are very unstable, so is vision/camera which makes orientation confusing. Not sure how are you supposed to fight flying creatures with the current camera.

At the current phase it's pretty much unplayable.

Screenshots could attract more players to download your work. Make the best of them.

A credits list is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated.

A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.

1. The "turn game chat off" in Advanced Options removes all enemy transmissions. To turn them back on, click "turn game chat on."

2. I updated it in v1,3

3. Sorry, but the game starts lagging after 10 minutes. I already fixed every point memory leak. The game lags because of movement happening every .01 s, not because of spells. I don't think there are memory leaks. Any idea how to do this or you can tell me where to post it where it can get help?
I think I need to remove every real or integer number memory leak, not just points. The link you posted only shows points, regions, special effects.

The movement not lagging thing has already been done, not just custom maps, but also Blizzard's own Azeroth Grand Prix. Even the map Area Ice Escape does this(any map that uses move unit instantly every .1s or .01s, etc.). Any idea why my map lags after 10 minutes? It's not because of the spells. I already did call RemoveLocation(udg_Variable) on every possible point.

  5. Picking up items by clicking is a pain. Why not make it so they automatically get inside the inventory once you get near them?
  6. Blink doesn't do anything.
  7. Entering the portal and holding the forward key might accidentally get you back and forth because the facing is kept instead of getting out of the portal with your back to it.
Overall, the map still has unrefined controls.
