Map Description


The Fury of the Red Dragons at the center of this land provides great power to the one who wields it. He will rule the entire land with his will to survive. He will conquer his enemies with the use of his wits. He is indeed the greatest warlord.

Review:
The Good:
(+) Great X middle design
(+) Healthy neutral grounds with rewarding neutral buildings for access
(+) Great balanced Tavern locations
(+) Overall balanced gameplay
(+) Enough gold mines for resources
(+) Fun to play, of course

The Bad:
(-) While the X design was great and innovative however it made the map inflexible
and stressful on managing structures
(-) Hilltop mines in left, right, up and down are too high and over exaggerated
(-) The mud golems are facing at the ogre himself and may look a little odd
(-) You'll run out of lumbers very fast unless you're playing Night Elf, the tree formation may also look like they're lined up and doesn't look too good
(-) Red Dragons in the middle seems to be very ignorable, don't know why
(-) The Dragons in the corner gold mines are annoying, they should've been land units
(-) Both you and I suffers from the same problem. Our melee maps really needs more doodads :)

My Score: 3.5/5
The hilltop gold mines are the biggest flaws, but to sum it up its a fine and a darn good map.

Just checked and played the map once again, sorry for the long delay for feedback and all. Anyway, the map really improved and was even further polished than the last time. There are more abundant trees to be gathered and a lot doodads were implemented around the map. However, the same creep position problem may get in your way, the Ogre's at the Goblin Merchant are facing backwars, the early Mud Golems and Ogre creeps are faced at the wrong direction. Also, the flexibility issue is still there but I don't think you would fix that anytime soon, 'coz your going to recreate the entire terrain so I don't really blame you for that. The over exaggerated hills were also fixed, so it actually feels natural, while some ramps along the mountain may have some uneven ground spiked and may not look pretty. So for now, may rating remains the same.

Lemme know once this map is updated once again, Imma gonna check it out

Game difficulty is promising, and matched the balance according to melee maps, although those creep camps needs proper group formation [ex. all of them should be facing in 270], nothing much to explain with the creeps as well.

Map's Terrain looks a little plain :(
needs more work but since the map is massive enough for a epic battle, the fields went well for me, but still needs more decorations to beautify its quality.

After my views, maps seems fair, nothing bad to bother for now, the only problem with your map is the terrain, needs more fix and it will be a good one, I hope :)

Map terrain is really bad, tiles are random, no doodads, no nothing, just cliff, tree, grass...
Still there is hope for this map, if I can say that way, you have room to add (I say this because you usually make smaller maps :razz:) all kind of crazy shitz into it :)

Start with rocks, then add rock tile around them, add some shrubs, rise some over rocks, add logs, add mushrooms near them, add birds, bandit camp, change those dragons and ogres, make some story based map, you just place random cool looking units with powerful stats andeven more powerful item drops.

I won't bother you more, I will check your other maps in time so you can work on them as well, for now:

probably really hard to fix and isn't much of a big deal, but I personally think a map looks much better if there is no playable areas that are connected to the beautiful out of bounds wall.

Only complaints I have are the various border encounters, especially the ones where you attempted to make steep natural cliffs, without an updated miscdata.txt, other then that minor detail I believe it is an acceptable melee map.
