The seem in the middle of the jacket and the clean distinction between the different articles of clothing make him look a little more sophisticated than someone living in prehistoric times though.

If you want something more caveman looking, base yourself from the Inuit... that's my recomandation.

and no this is not a racist comment...

but I don't know, which period of humanity you are basing yourself from.
Just google ''caveman'' or ''ice age'' and you will find some really cool reference pictures made from reproduction.

About 25.000 BC.

Googling cave man or ice age just turns up hundreds of clichéd, inaccurate images for me..

The jacket's supposed to be something leathery and the pants snow hare fur or something similair. Why doesn't this look 'caveman' to you? Should it be more furry, like the inuit clothing?

I'm off watching Walking with Beasts and Walking with Cavemen again for inspiration..

I think you could brighten up that inner mouth a bit, otherwise, pretty solid. You might consider removing the split in the "jacket" as I don't think they wore clothes that way, but rather pulled them down over the head like a sweater. Oh, and that's a pretty large and furry winter hare, I'd say.
