Build a base Wars V0.91e LIGHT

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
This map is very similar to "builders" and to the normal Warcraft 3 melee.
But this has Custom races!
Currently: Humans, Orcs, Bandits, Ogres, gnolls and Demons.
All of the races are slightly different. The new tooltips will describe a little what every race is, so read it! :p


Whats the game about mainly?

1.1 Choosing Race:
It's simple, after the winning conditions are set, you will get a "Summoner". The summoner can summon 5 buildings and 1 unit. Whenever you summon one you use 1 lumber, which you can never get back again. These 5 buildings and 1 unit are main buildings / units of the race. With them you can make new buildings and new units.

1.2 Mine:
After you done all that, you basically train workers to work in mines. The more workers you train the faster you get the gold but the mine will also deplete faster! For there it's better if you have several mines at once so when your base gets attacked you still get gold and they wont deplete as fast.

1.3 Build:
Every race has different buildings and styles. For example: The demon leader can summon Demon worms and only build 2 buildings. A human can only build buildings but has 8 of them. The humans can also upgrade some of the buildings.

1.4 Train/Summon units
After you build a nice little base you might want to train some basic troops to defend yourself or to attack the enemy. Every race has different units so if you pick gnolls you might have atleast 36 units before you attack while with Humans 20 would be enough for a pretty good attack.

1.5 Bounty.
You might think: Ah ill just build slowly and mine all the gold and wait till im fully upgraded. Dont think that. People who actually attack early game will get much more gold due to bounty! Bounty is like the best way to get money. :p

1.6 Rushing.
As said in 1.5, don't be a slowpoke and wait till you get attacked! Of course you might survive the attack and actually get bounty of the attacking units, but if the attacking guy is smart and trained a lot of better units, he actually gets more gold. instead, rush someone, kill someone before he grows strong. That way you get the gold and you make the enemy stay weak.

1.7 Defence or attack
Well, with some races its much easier to defend ( Humans, Orcs, Gnolls. ) while with others its easier to attack ( ogres, demons, bandits ) So dont go defend when your a demon,. The demon race focusses on killing units to gain a lot of gold to make their army the best.

1.8 Conclusion
Discover the ways of every race and you will become invincible. Stay open for new ways to play!


Game Modes and settings:
Player1(red) can choose the game type and settings.

Bounty On
The bounty is on, you get everything the building / unit has cost. You have to look out you wont "feed" the enemy :p

Bounty Off
The bounty is off and you can only get money by Gold Mines. The game will be more slow paced and the team who is the strongest will mostly stay the strongest.

6v6
The first player of every team has a leader. If the leader dies, the team loses ( Can also be played with 1v1 2v2 3v3 4v4 and 5v5 )

FFA
Every player for himself! If your summoner dies, you lose.


In V0.91e:

pretty much everything fixed what was bugging me and you...

Here is my full review of the map:

The idea was going to be interesting, and I must say, that it still can be very nice map. But it`s not... But for idea it get`s 2.


Ehem... The terrain is horribly done. This is empty with just some cliffs and water. This really needs to be done


Because of the terrain the gameply was boring. There is great imbalance in cost (bandits first building to build costs 400 gold, and they get 1 gold from mine per worker...). At the beginning I was able to attack some choosers and enemy leader... The only plus for it is working win/loose condition.


It`s horribly done... No terrain, poor units, just spam of gold mines...


Only description looks good from the whole map. So:
+1 point for description


So let`s count:
2 + 0 + 1 + 1 + 1 =5/25 = 20% = 1/5 and vote for rejection.

- add hotkeys to main buildings

Well, as you know, Bandits can put their bandit camp wagon near the gold mine, resulting in very fast gold mine rate. And their "workers" are actually attacking units so you could like rush with them to kill someone to gain more gold to build that 400 gold building o:

As opposed to Humans, they get a lot of workers, and are able to build units to defend themselves later, meaning a bandit race could exterminate the humans halfway but humans would survive with defending with workers...

I guess I can change the terrain a bit though...

Ok :p Hope the review will be anything good :D

Or ill have to try harder...

Current known bugs:

-Cinematic sometimes not playing correctly ( when player1(red) color isnt there?)
-Several units can walk through the forest. ( FIX for next version: Only gnolls can. )
-Ogres too strong? ( Not sure, I cant really test I'm better than the others :p )

Tomorrow, V0.91D planned for release. Includes:
-All pathing of units fixed.
-Gnolls get "Forest Walk", they can walk more easily through forests.
-Several bugged TRIGSTR_*** fixing to make the map look more nice.
-V0.91d will be a LIGHT* version. Light* versions are planned till a song is found that's under 1,4 mb.

You migth expect more fixes as I am testing it.[/i]

I have no idea how to fix that cinematics bug.

*Light refers to under 1mb file size. For this map it's removing the music. Might expect a default warcraft 3 song loop.

V0.91e planned for release:
-Balance tweaks:
Bandits units slightly cheaper
Ogres slightly more health and regen.
Ogres get a "Blunt weapon" ability. 12.5% chance for 5 extra damage and "unconsiousness" for 1.5sec.
Ogres slightly less food.

Of course ^^

So list of planned things:
-New race, Dragons
-Lumber System so Dragons can be made. ( Eat units to get lumber. )
-Every unit / building drops at least 1 lumber.
-all main buildings / units cost 1000 lumber

For everyone who is waiting for a new version, it is currently ON HOLD.

I was working on the dragons some months ago but I realised when the bounty is off this would render the dragons totally useless. There was a version where every unit / building dropped 1 lumber. Every race needed in total 50 lumber to be in the latest tech. To get lumber you killed units. This was a pretty cool idea but also kinda annoying...

Anyway, It's currently on hold because I have lost interest in editing the map at the moment... Maybe I will edit the map in the future. ( Pretty much everytime I regained interest I added 1/2 races and/or changed much of a tech tree XP And spend time balancing it )

Nice idea, its fun to play. But i think summoner should be removed from game after you pick your race. Than map will be much better. And one more thing, improve terrian, use terrian deformations, more dodats and tile sets. 3/5
