BTNUther

"Lord Uther the Lightbringer, or Sir Uther Lightbringer, was the first paladin of the Knights of the Silver Hand who led his Order in battle against the Horde during the Second War.

During the Third War, Uther was betrayed and murdered by his beloved pupil, Prince Arthas, while defending the urn carrying the ashes of Arthas' father, King Terenas."

Feel free to comment, as it would help to improve the icon and make as it should be.

BTNUther (Icon)

I think it does need more shading since it looks cartoon-ish. The hairs, mustache and the beard need more shading than the rest I think. The effect could be better or I think there is no need for the effect. The left eye (right eye in the icon and left eye in real) looks corrupted, maybe make it more visible. Overall, I think it does need far more shading and contrast. Just my thoughts! Of course you should wait for the moderator's review.

The shading is too dull, maybe some darker shading in areas like the beard and hair, Also I'm not sure if the beard is that brown color or that gray color? The effect in the background should resemble a beam of light hitting him?

I understand your point, I posted it to be sure what I have done right and not. I know what I should do, the shading is not a problem to do, but about background effect, if frankly said, the beam of light was harder to do than I thought, maybe I will redo it. And I would like to have some ideas, suggestions about bg effect, if the current does not fit well (in my opinion is a good one just needs rework).

Why the pitch-black on the left? It looks unnatural with rays on the right.
As Flute stated, you could give him some better colors so he wouldn't look so deserted.
His left eye is barely visible.
The light rays is blending with his face, try 'reducing' the light when it falls lower, e.g:

Or even something like this:
(Not necessary solid beams)

I should say that's informative and useful feedback, thanks San. I agree that now that the icon is not finished because of the effect. It's my first time when I tried to do smth like that. I have to learn a lot of things. Will try to post update soon.

You could also consider to fill the empty space inside his armor ( View attachment 283005 ) with something, like, some dark gray from his shoulder on lower part.
Take your time to refine the icon.

I tried to change this space, but when resized, nothing can be distinguished. I don't know if this bothers so much as the glow, it was a problem.

The aura could be improved by a better transition of hue (some orange/yellow and some opacity tricks).

About the space, just some little gray would help, you can try to apply them after you resized it into 64x64.
